The Syrian Democratic Forces understood that freedom is based on stability.

History: 21 April 2019

Over the past months, the status of the US presence in Syria has been in a state of constant change. US President Donald Trump said at the end of December that his administration plans to withdraw from Syria as a shock to the US military and to many in the administration itself, especially to those in northern Syria, where US troops are present. Then there were statements that the United States could retain 400 troops north of Syria, but the details were still unclear. President Trump announced during his election campaign that he would return US troops operating in Syria after the defeat of the "Daqsh" organization, but no one expected the implementation of the announcement so quickly. Trump's withdrawal of troops from Syria has drawn much criticism from friends of the president and his enemies alike. The supporters of the president to withdraw US troops from Syria pointed out that those who support the survival of those forces are the same who led the United States to the war in Iraq, and they were wrong at the time, and they are wrong now. The debate is continuing, but is the situation in Syria in 2019 similar to the situation in Iraq in 2003?

The reading of the predictions of the imminent American invasion of Iraq in 2002 and 2003 seems to read a fictitious story, and although most of the war's supporters were wrong, none of them was held accountable or dismissed. In fact, the Washington Post wrote an opinion piece in February 2003: "After the speech by Secretary of State Colin Powell at the United National Security Council yesterday, it was hard to imagine how anyone could question that Iraq had nuclear weapons".

Many of the same experts who led the war in Iraq said that the United States should support the Arab Spring in 2011, and that this movement is different from the invasion of Iraq and the overthrow of his regime on the one hand this time that the people revolted against his dictators, but both times failed speech In fact, there was no political plan or organized movement to achieve a specific goal. The people were against Muammar Gaddafi in Libya and the same against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria, but what happened next was chaos.

It is therefore understandable that President Trump is hesitant to listen to those same experts and policy makers who pushed America into the war in Iraq and who want to push it into a war with unnecessary Iran when they say that US troops should stay in Syria and they have not learned the lesson in Iraq , And no one acknowledged his responsibility for the terrible mistake of the 2003 invasion. Rep. Walter Jones, who recently died, sought to forgo his support for the war by writing letters to the families of those killed in Afghanistan and Iraq. His position was unique. Most other experts were still They defend War in other parts of the world, and demanding that the government wage more wars.

Unfortunately, the general debate about the US presence in the Middle East is dominated by two opinions: the first is that these forces must be withdrawn from the entire region in a comprehensive manner, and the second says that US forces must be deployed in all those countries. This ignores the fact that not all of the invasions are similar, and that the situation in northern Syria is radically different from Iraq. In northern Syria, it was America's allies, the Syrian Democratic Forces, who eliminated a " They were killed last March 23.

President Trump rightly believes that the United States has no role to play in Syria from the start. During the reign of former President Barack Obama, his administration armed and financed opposition groups in Syria, but did not commit itself to remove Assad from power. She was criticized for not providing the reasons for the opposition's overall victory, but that opposition did not have a coherent plan for state rule. The demonstrators initially called for freedom and democracy, but later became involved in anarchy after they decided to topple all Syrian state institutions. It turned out that maintaining security in Syria was as difficult as in Iraq.

As for Iraq, in the chaos of the 2003 invasion, most Iraqis said the United States was an occupying power. Iraqis have refused to say the United States wants to bring democracy to their country after it became clear to them that the most powerful nation in the world has no plan for the overthrow of the regime. The United States realized that chaos would prevail, and the United States was said to have had other hidden intentions for the invasion. The most famous of these intentions was that America came to Iraq to steal oil or that it came to protect Israel. To explain the US invasion of their country. But is the American presence in Syria an occupation as well? In areas where the US military works, they consider it a partner and guarantor of security against Turkey and Syrian security, although the realists know that the United States is looking for its interests and that one day it will leave. What is important is that they have seen us as partners in the war against "da'ash". Surely, the majority of the Syrian people do not see the Americans as an occupying power, and so why the difference with Iraq? Because Syria in 2019 is different from Iraq 2003, and unfortunately, those who made mistakes about Iraq were injured in relation to Syria, and therefore they abused the issue of staying in Syria.

Unlike the Syrian opposition or US officials in post-2003 Iraq, the Syrian Democratic Forces understood that freedom was based on stability and made a great effort to convince the local population of their so-called "autonomy" project, which reflected the unique nature of the region in Syria where they live. Historically, the area north and west of the Euphrates River is known as al-Jazeera, and has closer relations with northern Iraq and southern Turkey than with the rest of Syria, and the Syrian Democratic Forces have managed to eliminate the al-Qa'ida organization in the region, but will not be able to continue it. Support, given the threats of Turkey and the Syrian government if US forces withdraw from the region.

In Iraq, the Americans tried to use the American military force to reshape society differently. To make such efforts successful, social change and national unity were to be created in a comprehensive manner. In a record time, the situation in Syria was completely different. America supported a local entity that emerged organically from The region, and proved to be able to secure stability and administration, while the Americans were giving them firepower and some help, but such a difference was missing in the class of experts in Congress and research centers in Washington, DC. They were wrong about Iraq and the Arab Spring. We should not listen to them. President Trump is certainly right to ignore all their advice. It is shameful that they were right about the survival of US forces in Syria, and because of them the president decided to leave prematurely.

4-21-2019   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat   Iraq has been sucking in these large 3 zero  notes “unofficially” when they went to electronic payment system. By means of not redistributing these 3 zero notes over and over again during payrolls, they essentially were able to collect nearly 2/3 of them and get them out of circulation. The remaining 1/3 the CBI says will remain in circulation and “coincide” with the newer smaller category notes. So far they are using three denominations of the lower categories 250, 500 and 1,000.    [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]
4-20-2019   Intel Guru Delta  Article:  "The opening of the first Iraqi bank in Saudi Arabia and cooperation includes security and intelligence" VERY HUGE...NO WAY JOSE WITH OUT ARTICLE VIII...

4-20-2019   Newshound Guru chattels  There is no transparency in Iraq or about any revaluation of it's currency.  If the dinar is to have any sudden increase in value then we will not be told in advance and no one reading the news will be able to reliably anticipate such, IMO.

4-20-2019   Newshound Guru larrykn   Boy with all these articles coming out about stability I see Iraq moving again in the right direction.  I see a lot more they need to get done but they are moving in the right direction.  I think once they feel they are comfortable with were they are at, then they will do it...no time lines just when.  I would like to see the banking improve, stability improve,, the government improve , investment coming in. these are a few of what I like to see happen.
4-20-2019   Newshound Guru Adam Montana
The two largest borders are Iran and Saudi Arabia.  Both countries present opportunities for oil delivery... in order to sell their oil, they must deliver it. In order to deliver the oil, it must get to the sea, unless they are to limit their market to the 6 countries that border them... and why would other oil rich countries pay a premium to Iraq They would not, and will not. So it's in Iraq's best interest to have great relationships with it's neighbors, and it's important that the global market approves of these relationships.  Iran and Syria are questionable allies...but Saudi Arabia is a solid partner.  This is why I'm excited to see Iraq buddying up with Saudi Arabia, and it's even more exciting that it's not exactly clear what Saudi Arabia has to benefit at this time.  I think we all know, or can use our imaginations.     ...Saudi Arabia has a longstanding position of “middle”...not anti-Iraq, but not the opposite either. Why, now, are they opening their arms? Maybe someone is expecting a change, and they want pole position. [post 2 of 2]

4-20-2019   Newshound Guru Adam Montana   ...one quick clarification - earlier this week I said PM Abadi was in Saudi Arabia on business. Obviously this was a mistake, as the current Prime Minister of Iraq is no longer Abadi. Nonetheless! The actual PM of Iraq, Abdul Mahdi, was indeed in Saudi Arabia - and the resulting news is a bit of a present, if you ask me.  As I was getting ready to post this, a perfect article was posted. The focus is heavily on Iraq, the benefits to Iraq, and not much else.  In what world is that a deal we expect to see from the Saudis... are they suddenly charitable people operating for the sole purpose of World Peace and charity?  I don't think so. Therefore, the equalization simply isn't being mentioned.  Article:  "Historical agreements between Iraq and Saudi Arabia" ...Saudi Arabia is important to Iraq. ...Iraq has 3 major countries that border it, and only one actual connection to water. Aside from that small bit of beach...Iraq is landlocked.   [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

4-20-2019   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat   Article quote:  "The Central Bank of Iraq (CBE) launched a branch of the Basra branch on Thursday to develop a window from the issue division to provide small groups of 250, 500 and 1,000 dinars."   This is really the only article worth showing today of any real value to us as investors. So we know that these other smaller category notes such as 25, 50, 100 etc.. are not NOT yet launched.  ...They are NOT yet out. ...this article is proof enough that the only smaller categories out are still these 250, 500 and 1000 notes.

4-19-2019   Intel Guru MarkZ   ...i am terrified to give out solid carved in stone, cast in iron dates...but I am feeling confident that we are finally going to have it.  I am being told all rates are being held until Monday morning to go on the screen…they do not want anyone to have a jump start on the values being shown. This came from someone within the bank...who should know. They are showing a “lock” on them …no more fluctuations...everything is set...it appears Easter weekend is our weekend...  [post 2 of 2]

4-19-2019   Intel Guru MarkZ
...it appears we are passed the point of no return and we will have it by Monday Morning...is what I have been told...we really are in a different position then we ever have been before.  ...a number of smaller coins and notes hit the street in Iraq this week... I have a friend over there and they have seen coins and lower denominations in the streets this week...this gives us a very good indication they are prepared for it.  [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

Report: Five obstacles to the implementation of the program Abdul Mahdi

20 April: Despite nearly six months of confidence in the Iraqi government headed by Adel Abdul Mahdi, the government's program seems to be in limbo, with the exception of the file on foreign relations and openness to the neighboring countries, which have witnessed remarkable progress. Political sources attribute the delay of the current government program to several reasons, most of which are related to corruption, political conflicts and disagreements over the legitimacy of some ministers.

Files of corruption

The new Arab quoted an Iraqi parliamentary source, "Some blocs in the House of Representatives, indicated the existence of a delay in the implementation of most paragraphs of the government program put forward by Abdul-Mahdi when he took office, explaining that the most important obstacles related to the ability to open files of corruption.

These blocs believe, according to the source, that "the Supreme Council for the fight against corruption, which was formed by the government, did not come something new, in light of the inability to open files of corruption caused the loss of tens of billions of dollars, especially related to the era of the rule of former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki (2006 - 2014), "He also stressed that" parties represented in parliament are pushing not to open these files. "

"Illegal ministers"

The source added that the talk about the illegality of the presence of some ministers, such as Minister of Communications Naim al-Rubaie, accused of belonging to the former Baath Party, "banned in Iraq, and Minister of Education Shaima Hayali, who was excluded from her position because of the relatives of the organization" Daqash "and talk about the possibility of questioning Ministers Others, are all issues that may impede the establishment of the institutions of these ministries and their duties, explaining that this directly reflected on the implementation of the government program.

Political conflicts

The source pointed out, in the same context, that the political conflicts for positions also restricted the Prime Minister, after some of the large blocs insisted on the receipt of certain ministries, stressing the continuation of conflicts over senior positions, special grades, and ambassadors.

For his part, said the President of the "coalition decision", former parliament speaker Osama Najafi, expressed concern over the delay of the completion of the government because of conflicts and competition between the political blocs, considering in a statement issued earlier, that this may be reflected on the implementation of the government program, and may also withdraw On parliamentary action.

In the context, said Iraqi MP Hussein al-Aqabi, that the government of Abdul-Mahdi is unable to perform its ministerial platform, indicating in a press statement that the methodology followed by some political parties that have adopted the formation of the government (in reference to the alliance "conquest" and " , And the presence of ministers with criminal indicators, may lead to the formation of a broad national front that reshapes the form of government.

Minister is illegal and weak efficiency

He expected the new coalition to form a new coalition under the dome of parliament, indicating that the government is flawed and serious imbalance, and needs to be reoriented and liquidated, because it includes ministers have been appointed in violation of the Constitution and the law, as well as some imbalance in the efficiency of some,

Government reluctance

For his part, the member of the "Civil Trend," Saad Rabie, "The six months is not enough to judge the success or failure of the government program, indicating that" the government of Abdul Mahdi needs at least a year to assess its performance.

However, according to Rabee, "this does not mean exempting the government from mistakes or the delay in some files," stressing that "the Prime Minister is required to disclose the files accumulated corruption that made Iraq one of the least honest in the world."

Finally, the Iraqi parliamentarian for the "Fatah Alliance", Mohamed Karim, that "the performance of Abdul Mahdi can not be evaluated unless a comprehensive assessment of his government," noting that "the mobility we hear about the impact of the negative on the performance of the government can not be adopted, because May hide behind political ends.
