Oil closes its session this year with its first annual decline since 2015

Editorial date: 2018/12/31 11:53  78 times read

The price of oil rose nearly 2 percent in the last session of the year on Monday, tracking stock market gains, but it is the first annual decline in three years amid persistent fears of oversupply.
Oil sentiment was boosted by hints of a possible trade deal between the United States and China as President Donald Trump said he had "a very good call" with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.
By 0740 GMT, Brent crude futures were up $ 1.04, or about 2 percent, at $ 54.25 a barrel. Brent fell 19 percent in 2018 following a two-year rally.
US crude was up 46 cents to $ 46.11 a barrel, up 78 cents, or 1.7 percent, from the last close. Crude is about 24 percent lower this year.
For most of the 2018 period, oil prices were buoyed by strong demand and supply concerns, particularly with regard to the impact of renewed US sanctions on Iran's main producer, which came into effect in November.
Brent, a global oil price index, rose about a third between January and October to $ 86.74 a barrel.
That was the highest level since late 2014, when a sharp decline in the market began amid a growing global supply gap, with many analysts and many analysts expecting crude to hit $ 100 a barrel by the end of 2018.
Instead, Brent prices wiped out all of the 2018 gains to nearly 40 percent below the peak of the year, recording around $ 53.25 a barrel, in what has become one of the steepest declines in the oil market over the past three decades.
This came after Washington unexpectedly gave generous exemptions to sanctions on Iran's biggest oil buyer and expectations for crude demand were weighed down by concerns about a global economic slowdown and trade disputes between China and the United States.
"It was Iran's bailout that really blew up the crude oil market bubble at the time," said Sukrit Vijayakar, director of energy consultancy Trevkata.
"For the near future, and in the absence of anything new, the first point of pressure for the oil markets will come near May 2019 or a month or so ahead when the 'extension of exemptions' from Iran's sanctions is discussed.

The report pointed out that, 10 days ago, President Trump "suddenly" announced the full withdrawal of US troops from Syria, and that, days later, Trump's envoy to the Global Alliance to defeat the prodigy, Brett McGurk, resigned in protest.

Supporters of the movement are moving freely in Mosul and Falluja. Government measures are worrying the people

31-12-2018 11:11 AM

Agency of the orbit -
Baghdad
NBC News reported a report highlighting the fears of a resurgent organization in liberated areas in Iraq, despite the fact that more than a year has passed since the declaration of victory, showing that many supporters and supporters of the organization are still moving freely in the streets without being held accountable and brought Of justice.
"Hanaa al-Nuaimi remembers how she was three years ago, unable to leave her home in the occupied city of Mosul by calling her without covering her face with a veil," the station said in its report.
"Now life is much better than those black days we lived under a reigning rule," she said of Naimi. We are now returning to our normal lives but very slowly. '
The station pointed out that the Daash organization had taken control of Mosul, the second largest city of Iraq, in June 2014, as well as one-third of Iraq before being defeated and expelled from the country last year during a massive military campaign launched by the Iraqi army with the support of the International Coalition, Military operations against Da'ash and the victory announcement in December 2017.
"However, Naimi (the widowed mother) is one of many Iraqis who are unable to return to their former homes. She lives with her two children in eastern Mosul and is unable to return to their old home on the western side of the city, which has been completely destroyed. It depends on the livelihood of her deceased husband, who does not exceed 450,000 dinars per month.
"The majority of the people of Mosul have difficulty living and lack of services," says Naimi.
The station notes that public services, including electricity, are not always available, areas that were still battered and destroyed, with more than three million people displaced by the war who have not yet been able to return to their homes.
Despite the passage of more than a year since the liberation of the city, many supporters and supporters of the organization are still walking freely in the streets without questioning them and bringing them to justice, raising fears among Iraqis that the organization could be re-established.
She pointed out that the presence of known terrorists in the city of Fallujah is a matter of concern for the citizen Omar Hamad al-Dulaimi, 39, the possibility of the return of the organization again.
"We know that many of the original terrorists were originally members of Al Qaeda," Dulaimi said. Who knows, maybe a new terrorist group will be formed under a different name and these terrorists will join in. '
According to the security expert on the armed groups, Hisham al-Hashemi, 'the organization is not advocated permanently from Iraq,' pointing out that 'attacks and bombings are still taking place in different parts of the country with the presence of the remaining gunmen are hiding in remote desert and rural areas' .
"At a time when the citizen has the right to provide security information to the authorities, without mentioning his name, there is a large part of the negligence of the security apparatus in the follow-up of security information and verification."
Hanaa al-Nuaimi recalls that "someone was assassinated in the neighborhood where he lived after he did this thing."
"People's dissatisfaction with the government's performance on issues ranging from security to services has become widespread among Iraqis," said Renad Mansour of the Gatham House Research Center in Ankara.
"Citizens have become resentful of the ongoing operation in Iraq," Mansour told the station. So many people are turning to the streets to protest, and they are looking for ways of violence to overthrow the regime. '
"The situation is likely to explode again if basic services do not radically improve the provision of water, electricity and sanitation," Mansour said.
"Transparency International has rated Iraq as one of the most corrupt countries in the world with 18 degrees out of a total of 100 where zero is one of the highest levels of corruption," the station said.
"The fluctuation of confidence in political institutions, supported by the absence of economic opportunities and the lack of services, has created an environment in which we can live again," Mansour said.
"It's a dynamic organization that can know what people are complaining about and trying to show themselves as the one who gets rid of them. If the corruption continues to spread and the economic situation does not improve, Daash will return. "
"Part of the problem is that the United States and the coalition forces have focused on the military aspect of land liberation only and have not recognized the importance of the internal problems that have led people to join a preacher. The withdrawal from Syria is the best example of that. '

12-31-2018   Newshound Guru MilitiaMan   They want the taxes and tariffs and big time...They will get a slice of that pie...   ...simple math shows us that they (Alak) have given forward guidance as to where they are headed if not right out the gate. A program rate at .00083 is simply not what the Fab 4 are looking to get a % of...It will be based on a new international and very supported true value of imo over $6.00 (at least per the math based on Alak loan value he gave of $5,000,000.00 in an interview).  Those taxes and tariffs will raise the value of their currency. The formula to calculate REER and NEER is done, just yet to be applied. One thing I have said in the past is, “The longer they take, the more money we make.”...what I mean by that Is the rate has been growing if in fact the new source (unsolicited) is right.   Regardless what we will get will be a benefit for us all.  [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

This was renewed in order for the US to come into Iraq and help fight ISIS. Remember?

Abdul Mahdi: This is what we have been asked about Trump's visit
2018/12/30 23:32
[Ayna - Baghdad]
Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said on Sunday that Iraq had stipulated that US President Donald Trump's visit should be set on a formal agenda.
"The visit of US President Donald Trump has raised some questions and words, and there is talk that President Trump came to visit a US base in Iraq and this is a mistake, we do not have a US base in Iraq," Abdul Mahdi said at a weekly press conference on Tuesday. "We were told by Trump to visit Trump and to make our visit official and specific."
"The American side is to inform the government of Trump's visit, but Baghdad has stipulated that the visit should be official and specific to an agenda," he said, adding that "there are Iraqi bases that include the Americans, and there are no purely American bases in Iraq." The US ambassador who praised the balanced Iraqi position on Trump's visit. "
He added that "the summary of the matter that the US side that morning told us that President Trump wants to visit Iraq and welcomed this and we said the first two conditions to come to Iraqi soil and receive an Iraqi reception as is the case with any foreign official and secondly to set the agenda on specific topics Because the time of the visit is short and the meeting for a short period and does not allow the treatment of many things agreed by the American side. "
Abdul Mahdi said that "in the afternoon of the same day was contacted and we knew that the US president will not leave the area of presence of US military, and we said that this is not possible Prime Minister and his delegation will not move to a camp, but the opposite is true that the president to come to receive him as the head of a friendly" .
"The American side confirmed that the measures were organized in Washington and it is difficult to change them and there will be no bilateral meeting and they suggested replacing it with a telephone call, and this is all that has happened, a fundamental issue that reflects the Iraqi will and a position that respects friendly relations."
On the level of the visit of Jordanian Prime Minister Omar al-Razaz to Baghdad, Abdul-Mahdi said that "the Iraqi government has a package of important and useful agreements with Jordan and will be activated soon."
"There are those who say that Iraq has a [Sufa] agreement and Iraq does not have this agreement, neither with the United States nor with any other country, so that an official or commander-in-chief of armed forces can come to visit his base," he said.
He also expressed his hope that next year will be full of achievements and prosperity for the Iraqi people in all its aspects, stressing "the need for a complete change of economic structure in order to reduce dependence on financial budgets in development," noting that "there is a large and growing global momentum towards Iraq "He said.
"The presence of foreign forces is with the approval of the Iraqi government and the US and other forces withdrew fully from Iraq and after that," he said. Made a plea to Baghdad, the Iraqi government asked some countries to help. "
"The presence of these forces was at the request of the Iraqi government and when the international coalition was established, it was also with the consent of Iraq," he said, adding that "the lesson in sovereignty is not the presence of foreigners, but the lesson of the agreement and the state's consent to this presence." Alliances and cooperation among themselves, and the military presence does not relate to sovereignty, except if it is outside the will of the state and despite the will of that state. "
"We sent a delegation to Syria to follow up the repercussions of the US withdrawal from Syria. The delegation met with President Bashar al-Assad and the military leaders. It was a fruitful meeting because it has many complexities, countries and organizations," the commander-in-chief of the armed forces said.
"It is important that Iraq take the initiative and explore the views of the various parties so as not to receive the results and that negative developments will affect Iraq because a supporter is still present in areas of Syrian territory, and we are now in contact to have the initiative and not leave the reactions to the results and receive results only because we want To pay for our country any possible risks. New study: Breakfast protects against diabetes

MUNICH, Iraq - December 29: A new study found that skipping breakfast increases the risk of diabetes by about a third.

Individuals who did not eat their morning meals were 33% more likely to develop type 2 diabetes, according to an analysis of about 100,000 people.

The risk is increased by 55 percent in people who avoid breakfast at least four times a week, compared to those who eat breakfast in the morning.

Researchers believe the reason is due to the tendency to snack later in the day, when not eating breakfast.

The researchers collected the results of six previous studies to explore the effect of diet on diabetes in 96,000 participants.

"It is believed that 30 percent of people around the world do not eat breakfast," said Dr. Sabrina Schlesinger of the German Diabetes Center in Düsseldorf.

Individuals who are overweight are more likely to miss breakfast because they mistakenly believe that this action reduces the total calories they eat.

The team found that people were 22% more likely to have diabetes if they skipped breakfast, regardless of their weight. They may also eat a large lunch, which leads to a significant rise in the level of glucose and insulin, which is not good for metabolism, and increases the risk of type 2 diabetes.

The study confirmed that breakfast with high proportions of whole grains, with low rates of red meat and sugar, is the best in general.
