Oil prices are rising after recent sharp losses

link

Oil prices rose, Thursday, after severe recent losses, but market sentiment remains weak, as the high incidence of Covid-19 hurts the prospects for fuel demand while supplies rise.

By 06:51 GMT, Brent crude was up 1%, at $ 40.88 a barrel.
While US crude rose by 1%, too, to $ 38.93 a barrel. The two benchmarks fell more than 3% on Monday.
The lack of progress on agreeing on a package to mitigate the repercussions of the Corona virus in the United States has been added to the gloomy atmosphere in the market, although Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, said on Monday that she hopes that an agreement can be reached before the date of the US presidential elections.
A wave of Coronavirus infections is sweeping across the United States, Russia, France and many other countries, undermining expectations of the global economy, with record numbers of new cases forcing some countries to impose new restrictions as winter approaches.
“We believe demand from now on will really struggle to grow,” said Vivek Dahar, commodities analyst at Bank of Australia. The restrictions of Covid-19 are all part of that. ”The
bank expects US oil to reach an average of $ 38, and for Brent to average $ 41 in the last quarter of this year.
Prices have received some support from a possible drop in US production, as it began Oil companies close offshore platforms as a hurricane approaches the Gulf of Mexico.

Parliamentary Finance warns of an economic setback due to the government's borrowing policy

link

The Parliamentary Finance Committee warned, on Monday, of an economic setback in Iraq , while it called for reducing the amount of government borrowing to cover the salaries of employees, retirees and social care only.

A member of the Finance Committee, Siham Al-Aqili, said to / the information / that "the amount provided for the government loan is exaggerated, an increase in expenditures, and is devoid of attempts to rationalize spending."

He added that "walking the amount of the government loan and the approach of borrowing without solutions will push Iraq to a long-term economic setback," calling for "rationalizing the amount of the loan and reducing it significantly."

Al-Aqili explained that "the Finance Committee and other committees in the House of Representatives are working to reduce the amount of the loan to some extent that secures the salaries of employees and retirees, social care and the urgent needs."

The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed last Saturday that it will open an investigation into the doors of disbursing the previous loan and the state's incoming before approving the loan provided by the government.

New comment from the US Secretary of State on Iraq

On Tuesday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned of the continuing threats of ISIS, a year after the death of its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, while stressing the need to continue pressure on the organization in Iraq and Syria.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement to "People" (October 27, 2020), "A full year has passed since the killing of Al-Baghdadi, and while we celebrate this important achievement in the war against ISIS, the work of the international coalition (led by the states) is still far from accomplished. It is imperative that we continue to put pressure on ISIS remnants in Iraq and Syria, and continue to strengthen our collective efforts to defeat ISIS cells and networks around the world. "

On October 27, 2019, US President Donald Trump announced that Al-Baghdadi had been eliminated during a special operation in Idlib Governorate, northern Syria.

10-26-2020   Newshound Guru Pimpy  I notice that there are people that are getting restless and these people are the new people.  What I meant by that is they haven't been holding the Iraqi dinar for about a year and they're complaining already.  I tell you there's people that's been in this game for 15, 16 years all right.  You can't get frustrated.  All you can do is keep an eye on it.  There's been more positive news IMO in 2020 than we've seen in a long time that I could remember...stay positive.  There are some other good news coming.  I'm anticipating that going to happen this week...

10-26-2020   Newshound Guru Pimpy
...I want to make a point about the Iraqi dinar.  Once these nations all sign these agreements (peace agreements) there's these new trade agreements that are coming BTW in which they can all do business with one another.  This will bring a lot of business very quickly into Iraq as well as surrounding nations there but especially in Iraq.  Iraq is the hub into the Middle East...Other countries are going to be investing money into rebuilding Iraq.  It's starting from scratch.  This is going to bring a lot of jobs there.  This is great news for both short term and long term when it comes to Iraqi dinar...

10-26-2020   Newshound Guru Pimpy  Article:  "Al-Kazemi spokesman: More than 25 officials are behind bars"  Al-Kazemi is no joke.  When he is draining the Iraqi swamp he is draining the swamp...quote "25 officials in addition to the corrupt whales [Super wealthy individuals] are under bars and under investigation during the first 2 months of al-Kazemi's government."  This is what I'm talking about man.   Making these kinds of moves.  Let's show the world that you're capable of handling the corruption.  I love this news...this is gonna look really good in the eyes of the international community...Al-Kazemi...seems to be the man of the people and I love to see that...

10-26-2020   Intel Guru MarkZ   [via PDK]   It was an exceptionally quiet weekend with very little news…especially on the banking front.  In Iraq this morning...no measurable movement.  [Looking like RV after the election!]  I am starting to feel that way. I was expecting a whole lot to happen this weekend that did not. Seven days and 14 hours until election day.  If I hear anything worth sharing I will...but, at this point I am not anticipating anything earth shattering.

10-26-2020   Newshound Guru MilitiaMan    Article:  "Parliamentary Finance confirms the government's printing of new currencies without financial cover and describes the act as "dangerous"   ...we see they speak if printing currency with out "cover".  Well "cover" to me may mean a new rate is needed now, as the CBI has not exposed it yet. They printed new notes, not larger triple zero notes...

Parliamentary planning: The government does not have a vision to manage the financial situation

Editing date: 10/26/2020 19:31 • 77 times read
[Baghdad-Where] The Committee for Planning and Monitoring the Implementation of the Parliamentary Government Program accused the federal government of not having a true vision for managing the financial situation in the country.

Committee member Mohammed Al-Baldawi said in a statement. "The government relies on borrowing to solve the country's financial crisis, and this is not true, as it will submit a law for borrowing every three months," pointing out that "the government has not invested any non-oil resources such as taxes and border crossings, as well as not investing money from selling oil internally."

He added, "The borrowing law exaggerates the size of the required sums and the government has not presented its vision in the law yet," noting that "the government does not have a real vision for managing the country's financial situation."

Today, Monday, the Parliamentary Economic Committee ruled out passing the fiscal deficit financing law submitted by the government during today's session.

Amazing discovery in the southern half of the moon

Editing date: 10/26/2020 21:41 • 89 times read
[Follow-up] The US Space Administration "NASA" announced, on Monday, for the first time the presence of water on the luminous surface of the moon, in an amazing discovery that will have implications for any future mission that goes to the moon.
According to a press release, this discovery was confirmed by the Stratosphere Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, which is known by the acronym "Sophia", and the results of his findings were published in the scientific journal "Nature Astronomy".
The Sophia Observatory discovered the presence of water particles in the largest crater that can be seen from Earth, which is in the southern half of the moon.
Previous discoveries were able to detect the presence of a form of hydrogen, as the presence of water was determined accurately and in different concentrations, within a range of one cubic meter of soil on the surface of the moon.
Paul Hertz, director of the Astrophysics Department at NASA headquarters, said: "We have had indications that the water in its composition that we know exists in the region that the sun shines on the surface of the moon."
He noted that this new discovery will raise many questions about what we know about the moon's surface.
The NASA statement indicated that the new discovery means rethinking how water is formed and continues to exist on the surface of the moon devoid of air.
