Muqtada al-Sadr calls on his followers to sign a blood covenant of loyalty

The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, called on his followers to sign a document that pledged blood for loyalty, and to follow in the footsteps of his father, the late Shiite cleric, Ayatollah Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr (he was assassinated with his two sons in 1999).

This call, accompanied by a document published by the so-called "Minister Leader" Muhammad Salih al-Iraqi, comes about two weeks after his decision to freeze the Sadrist movement for at least a year, in order to fight what he called the corrupt within the movement's joints. This call comes against the background of the emergence of a group that called itself "the owners of the cause", in which they claimed that Muqtada al-Sadr is the twelfth Shiite imam, the absent Mahdi.

Al-Sadr said - in a tweet before announcing that his Twitter account was closed until further notice - that the freeze excludes the activities of holding unified Friday prayers, and the Heritage Authority of the movement.

Al-Sadr had announced his retirement from political work in August 2022, after a sit-in by his supporters inside the Iraqi parliament, and acts of violence in the Green Zone.

Al-Sadr's announcement of his retirement from political work came after a decision he had taken two months earlier, announcing the withdrawal of his parliamentary bloc (the Sadrist bloc), which won first place in the 2021 elections, with 73 seats.

According to the new document, which this time includes a commitment to blood, the Sadrists must “cooperate, discipline and centralize, and not unilaterally and disperse in signing the document, because there is a special party that will collect it to deliver it to Muqtada al-Sadr directly.”

And he continued: “So wait, I am with you among those waiting, and stop harming your leader.” The document includes a pledge to "sincerity and follow the path of the two martyrs, love of the homeland, rejection of corruption, support for reform, rejection of sectarianism and calls for normalization, and a pledge to preserve Iraqi blood."

And the Minister of Sadr added, “This document was written on the eighth day of Shawwal 1444, and it will be distributed by a specialized committee through the private office, then sign and put a fingerprint on it until before the anniversary of the death of Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr, to consider what follows, and to issue another decision that results in it.” ».

The document that the Sadrists must sign states: “I am the Iraqi: I pledge between myself and my Lord not to deviate from the love of the two Sadrist martyrs, and to abide by the commandments and orders of those whom I followed, and not to follow from the beginning except those who were committed to their approach, and to adhere to the approach of the two Sadrist martyrs I followed, and to I am devoted to him in my world and the hereafter, and I do not forget him by supplication and Al-Fatihah in my prayers and in my life, and I return the favor to him in his offspring and his family, and I do not forget his commandments to stay away from falsehood and the people of falsehood; like infidel colonialism; the unjust resurrection; the accursed devil; And the claimant of deviant inner behavior, and that I disavow everyone among them (the Al-Sadr family), especially their son (Muqtada Al-Sadr), that he is the Imam Al-Mahdi, and that I boycott them, and stay away from them as the complete, healthy individual moves away from the mangy dog and the clumsy deviant.

Al-Sadr added: “And I will not accept corruption, and I am committed to reform: reforming oneself before reforming others, and to reform my faith without diminishing or exaggerating in the doctrine of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH), the saints and the righteous, and not to arouse sectarianism and its strife, nor to nationalism and its furnace, and to adhere to the love of the homeland, and not to belong.” To others, and to abide by the Sharia and stay away from reprehensible and taboos, and to reject and denounce every sin and not approach it, or do something forbidden against heavenly laws such as homosexuality and sexual impurities, and to remain with all my strength against normalization with the enemy, and not to be blown away by the winds of corruption, so that I am not like a blown palm tree Desires, lusts, and pleasures, and to protect myself as much as I can from disobedience, sins, and misdeeds, as my reference taught me, and my leader disciplined me.”

Al-Sadr also called on his followers to love every Iraqi. The class, or their questioning of my reference or my leader and their activation of deviant ideas, or claiming to be Mahdism and all of them are innocent.

Although the document published by al-Sadr, and his followers began to sign it in preparation for sending it without knowing the next decision, according to political observers, breaking al-Sadr paves the way for his decision to freeze the movement for a year and replace it with a document of blood, to return to political life again.

In this context, Dr. Ghaleb Al-Daami, a professor of international media, said in a statement to the Saudi newspaper, Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, its independent follow-up, that “Al-Sadr is well aware that the survival of the Sadrist movement unified worries the parties that consider themselves an opponent of the Sadrist movement, or that the Sadrist movement considers them an opponent to it, and therefore it is It is known that there are parties working to fragment the Sadrist movement through religious fatwas, as happened with Al-Hairi’s fatwa and talk here and there, taking advantage of the temporary departure of the Sadrist movement from the political arena.

He added, "This call may be the beginning of announcing within 5 to 7 years the authority of Muqtada al-Sadr, and therefore this statement is a reaffirmation that the Sadrist movement's line continues in its work, even social, until other decisions are issued that may lead to the return of the Sadrist movement to the political process." ».

Al-Daami explained, "The Sadrist movement's audience is very interactive with this call, and considers it a first message to start participating in being part of the political scene.

Today, Sunday, the Association of Iraqi Private Banks confirmed that the dinar is recovering and will return strong and stable.

The Association’s advisor, Samir Al-Nusairi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Our dinar is recovering and returning strong and stable,” stressing that “with a close eye on the reality of monetary policy applications and procedures of the Central Bank and its careful follow-up of the foreign currency market situation locally and abroad, and facilitating access mechanisms to the electronic platform for external transfer and application of standards.” And the commitment of banks to implement the new external transfer instructions for the year 2023 and address the obstacles first led to the refutation of the extremist and pessimistic views that say that the crisis will continue, and our situation will be like the case of Lebanon, Iran, Syria and Turkey when it counts The dollar is the local currency of these countries.

Al-Nusairi added, "Through our accurate knowledge of the monetary situation of the Central Bank and its escalating reserves of foreign exchange, its balance exceeded 110 billion dollars, which covers up to 118% of the exported local currency and 130 tons of gold, and what is available continuously and daily in dollar revenues from oil sales in addition to its assets in the national currency." The exported and available ones in the central bank’s coffers made it dominant by implementing its procedures to cover the demand for the dollar in the circulation market and through its various official outlets,” explaining, “This is what I confirmed in my previous articles that the dinar will recover and the crisis is temporary despite all the external and internal reasons.”

He pointed out that "the bank's measures to increase meeting the demand for the dollar and the negotiating and shuttle rounds of the governor of the Central Bank in Istanbul and Washington and the understandings reached with the support of the bank's measures to control foreign transfers and reform and develop the banking sector and facilitate the mechanisms of external transfers and supportive government support to implement the Central Bank's procedures and the right decisions of the Council The central bank management issued procedural packages to set instructions, facilities, and flexibility to mitigate the crisis, and its important decision to raise the exchange rate for the dinar and adjust the price to 1300 dinars for finance, 1310 for banks through the platform, and 1320 for the public, and the speed in the government’s approval of the new price and immediately proceeding to deal with it led to the return of the money market to a state of stability ".

He continued, "One of the other main reasons that contributed to the recovery of the Iraqi debt is the increase in the currency window sales for foreign remittances to the target rates between (150-200) million dollars per day, and the increasing entry of small merchants and importers to the platform after realizing their benefit from importing at the official price and their regularity with the foreign trade system." In accordance with international standards, which strengthened the position of monetary stability in the trading market, which helped bridge the gap between the official price and the parallel price.

Al-Nusairi called on the Central Bank to make the next stage an assessment and analytical stage for the reasons that exacerbated the crisis in a timely manner, re-evaluating banks and licensed and unlicensed exchange offices, classifying them in a new way, and developing their work in all fields, pointing out that its next strategy must include new policies and instructions. It ensures maintaining stability in the financial system and the monetary system and achieving important steps in stimulating and enabling the banking sector to contribute to investment and development, as stated in Paragraph 7 of Article Twelve to reform the financial and banking sector, because banking reform is the beginning of economic reform.

Iraq is a consumer market open to neighboring countries, and the industry is unable to change the equation

Iraq is a consumer market open to neighboring countries, and the industry is unable to change the equation

Al-Hadath: In recent years, Iraq has become a consumer country with distinction due to the economy's focus on oil exports as a major source of revenue, and local production has become expensive and cannot compete with cheap products imported from abroad.

And in 2023, Iraq tops the list of countries that import the most goods from abroad as a result of the transition to an open market economy, the opening of borders to trade exchange, and the escalation of the consumption pattern.

The economic expert, Manar Al-Obeidi, said that Iraq imported during the past 15 months more than 12.5 million tires for various wheels and means of transportation, at a value of 500 million US dollars.

Al-Obaidi asks, saying: If the annual import rate of tires to Iraq is more than 500 million US dollars only from China, what is the real problem in establishing projects to produce various tires that save the value of these exports, find job opportunities for various youth, and contribute to increasing the gross domestic product?

What made Iraq depend heavily on imported commodities is the cessation of Iraqi factories, as most of the factories cannot be worked in because they are outdated and out of the default life and go back to the sixties and fifties.

The Minister of Industry, Khaled Batal Al-Najm, says that Iraq has a large import from Turkey and Iran, pointing out that part of this import is related to industries that we can establish in Iraq, but there are problems in the industrial sector due to the lack of raw materials and electric power, which increases the cost of production.

Former MP Ammar Youssef Hammoud believes that Iraq today has turned into a consumerist country par excellence due to the economy's focus on oil exports only as a source of revenue.

Activist Ali Al-Basri considered that Iraq imports the simplest things, as well as milk and eggs, and the private sector is being fought.

Hassan Suleiman, who is interested in Iraqi affairs, considered that one of the reasons for the failure of the economy and its reduction is to focus only on one source.. Every project that increases economic development, such as gas extracted from oil, as well as agriculture and abandoned factories, is supposed to be exploited.

The journalist Khaled Al-Wali explained that everyone knows that what Iraq is going through in terms of crises, lack of services and economic turmoil, adding: There are countries that want to keep Iraq as a consumer country to sell its products.

Chemical engineer Ali Saeed talks about the lack of productivity in some industries, and the inability to compete with foreign products, which makes them tend to rely on imports, pointing out that sometimes
imports are cheaper than local production, and this leads to the marginalization of local production.

On which we also rely in our plans for agricultural development, and from here Labor Day acquires many dimensions and meanings in our dear country, which is in dire need today for the giving and efforts of its children.

American website: 20 years after Bush's speech...the mission has not been accomplished and Washington has failed in Iraq

link

A report by the American Counter Bing website confirmed, on Monday, that on this day twenty years ago, six weeks after the invasion of Iraq, George Bush appeared on the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, announcing the end of combat operations in Iraq, behind him a banner that read, “Mission Accomplished.”

The report, which was translated by the information agency, stated that "Bush's empty claim faded with the escalation of fighting in the country between the resistance and the occupation forces, and during the following nine years, the death toll among American soldiers rose from 200." soldiers to more than 4,400 soldiers, while the number of Iraqi deaths rose to hundreds of thousands. The physical wounds were more numerous, and the psychological injuries were countless.”

"Bush's speech and banner have since become infamous and ridiculous, but the focus on the speech and banner ignores his other lies when he said, 'We fought for freedom,' and did not mention the main reason, which was oil," he added. .

He continued, "Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, in his 2007 memoirs, admitted, "I feel sad that it is politically inappropriate to acknowledge what everyone knows: The Iraq war is largely about oil." of US Central Command said in Iraq, Gen. John Abizaid: “Of course it's about oil, we can't really deny that.” Senator Chuck Hagel, later who became Secretary of Defense, commented "People say we're not fighting for oil. Of course we are."

And while describing the war effort as utterly noble, Bush's "mission accomplished" speech credited the "new tactics and precision weaponry" the Pentagon used to avoid "violence against civilians." But those soothing words mask brutal realities, according to the Costs of War Project. According to Brown University, the civilian deaths account for 40 percent of “the people killed directly in the violence that erupted in the wars of the United States after 9/11.” In fact, the vast majority of those killed in those wars were civilians, and "several times more were killed as a result of the impact of wars - for example, due to loss of water, sanitation and other infrastructure issues, and war-related diseases.

"At the moment, it is surprising to note the condemnations of the Russian invasion of Ukraine by some of the same US government leaders who strongly supported the appalling invasion of Iraq after the mission failed and America failed in the country," the report noted.
