Wastion is complaining about high electricity bills and is trying to force them to accept privatization
Baghdad / Al-Ghad Press:
A number of people from Wasit province complained on Sunday of the increase in the monthly electricity wages in the province, which was an attempt to force them to accept privatization.
"I was surprised by the electricity bill, which carries 205,000 dinars of electricity last month," said Karim al-Sayadi, a citizen of Al-Ghad Press. "He did not use the heavy equipment, and what he runs at home are lamps and simple cooling devices "He said.
He added that "this increase comes to force the citizen to accept the privatization of electricity in the province and turn them into companies, and that these subjects work on people who give them this privatization profits," he said.
"Two months ago I received a list of 340 thousand dinars and I objected, but I have to pay them. Otherwise, there is no electricity in my house," said Abu Hawra, a resident of Kut. "This month, "The list is double and we are a family of only four people."
"My neighbor received a list of 760 thousand dinars, while the owner of a food store received a list of one million dinars and many others exceeded their lists a million."
"When we checked the electricity department to inquire, the staff told us that it was normal, maybe this was the result of the use of cooling equipment," he said. "The citizen can pay the amount by installments. But I think this proposal does not solve the problem but rather complicates it. I will receive new lists before completing the installments of the list that I have been involved in. "
"There must be a response to these high bills and the response will be organized, including clerics, academics, university professors and judges," said Hamza Hassan, another Wassit citizen. "These are the nucleus of society, they have to face up because they are the most conscious and influential segment."
He added that "in the case of privatization, it is very sophisticated and limit the waste and be more fair and most developed countries follow this trend because it is the most equitable and organized," stressing that "in Iraq can not be applied at the present time because it was allocated billions and did not settle the electricity wondering why this waste is unjustified ? "
He pointed out that "the investor for privatization seeks profit first and finally, the question here is why the state resorted to the investor? Is this represents the lack of cadres in the ministry and the state.

Surely Abadi will want to RV well before then because it will swing in his favour for re-election if the country has had its economic power cranked up? It just makes sense to me that he wants to do it during his tenure.] Next April I believe... You bet he does...
10-22-2017 Intel/Newshound Guru payray ...Some forget that Abadi was a part of Maliki's government.. I believe he was the finance minister... Think he may have had his hand in the cookie jar a few times, and knew about others who did as well?... More than likely one of the main reasons why Maliki has not been arrested is due to the fact that he has the good's on many who are within the government now.... The Iraqi's are being watched like hawks this time... There will be no more do overs... This is it, and the time is now...
10-22-2017 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat ...Iraq is very quickly heading to financial freedom and the launching of the lower denominations. Some heard from Allag, that the currencies restrictions have been taken off the dinar. This is not true as Allaq did say in the coming period this would be done. So we wait in anticipation for more progress in this direction. We know we must see a new rate close to 1:1 with the US dollar and together or very close the launching of these new notes. We have witnessed just alone in the past year extensive efforts to the remaining 3 zero notes off out of circulation. It was not until they implemented the electronic banking practices and the POS hardware in the marketplace, that this is now possible. Will they RV tomorrow? Who knows! - However, I fully believe we are in a very good window of time between the coming days and the beginning of January 2018.

10-22-2017 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat ...there is no reason to compare the Iraqi dinar to the Kuwait dinar experience. The is no reason why the Iraqi dinar may not rise very quickly once they unplug it from the financial sanctions and restrictions and place it back on the open market. If it gets out of hand, the IMF will simply step in and regulate it. But when they do, this it will be with the old 3 zero notes combined with the newer lower denominations. Both will coincide for up to 10 years, as the CBI has told us. The dinar is planned to be pegged at his time to an SDR basket (five leading global currencies). ...the value is not now artificially low, as it...went into hyper-inflation due to the sanctions and embargo of 1991. The dinar has been valued at exactly the rate it deserves. But having said all this - there are the recent Abadi reforms, the growing of the economy and the political stability and the security that has changed Iraq for the good and so it is time to change the value and progress to a new rate. 10-22-2017 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat Next, once the newer 3 zero notes replaced the old Saddam notes, they had to slow down and stabilize the economy somehow. How did they do this? They did this by issuing the news notes along with instituting the a “de facto” peg of these notes to the US dollar. This was pegged to the US dollar only and not the British pound. The CBI and IMF have told us this countless times already in articles and news. Next, this “de facto” peg is not a float and is not even close to a float the IMF has talked about putting the Iraqi dinar on, once they move the currency out of sanction restrictions (which I believe they are now doing) and back to “full” international status. I don’t care to get fussy in what specifically they will call the float they will use but it will be a “fixed float” in that the market will determine the value based on supply and demand for the currency. In other words, they will fix an initial value and let the market drive it. [post 2 of 3....stay tuned]
10-21-2017 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat ...let me clarify yet more misunderstandings being passed around. Within the 10 years of the Iraqi embargo prior to the 2003 war with Iraq, the Saddam Hussein currency went into hyper- inflation. This was an intentional stifling of the economy, while pressure was exerted while complying with UN resolutions for the inspection program for weapons of mass destruction. Essentially the economy of Iraq fell apart. Remember the oil for food program. Why in hell do you think they had that program? Contrary to many of the beliefs by the dinar investment community, the rate as this time was not even close to the infamous $3.22 rate, everyone talks about and uses to justify this investment. So let me dispel this rumor. [post 1 of 3....stay tuned]

Speech of the Prime Minister Dr. Haider Abadi at the coordination meeting between Iraq and Saudi Arabia
22 - October - 2017
In the name of of Allah the Merciful
We express our great satisfaction at the development of relations between our two neighboring brotherly countries. The first Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council is the result of joint efforts and good intentions that reflect our direction and policy, which we have witnessed at the same time from our brothers in the Kingdom, especially the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Salman.
Our recent visit to the Kingdom has resulted in this Council, which will be an important turning point for cooperation and the strengthening of bilateral relations between our two countries and peoples in all fields.
We believe that cooperation, partnership and exchange of interests and linking them to a network of relations in various fields is the way to achieve the aspirations of our peoples in security, stability and development and expand security, economic, trade and cultural cooperation.
We have launched a program for the future of the region based on development and security rather than the differences and wars that we have suffered. It consists of five main points of development and giving hope to the youth.
The focus of cooperation against terrorism is a common goal of our two countries. We must work together and prove to the whole world that this terrorism does not represent our Islamic religion. It is an enemy of all humanity, and the Arab and Islamic countries are the most affected and destroyed, and the preacher started killing and displacing Muslims before other religions and beliefs. Other.
Iraq today is the day before yesterday. We have defeated terrorism and liberated our cities that have been occupied by a national unity weapon. Without unity, we would not have defeated terrorism. All Iraqis have stood united and our armed forces defend and welcome all the provinces.
We liberated our cities and moved to rebuild them. We managed to return most of the displaced people to their homes. We saved the unity of Iraq and the people. Iraq emerged united. The federal authority was able to extend its authority throughout the country and the law was imposed at the farthest point.
We have embarked on the principle of achieving justice and equality among all Iraqis, the participation of all in the resolution, ending ethnic and sectarian tension and not allowing its return.
Our domestic policy has been appreciated by all political forces and religious authorities because we looked at the Iraqis on the basis of their work and dedication, not on the basis of their identities, and our foreign policy towards openness and serious cooperation.
We respect the religious, national, intellectual and sectarian diversity in our country and cherish it, and our Constitution guarantees the rights of all. It is the supreme document that our people signed and voted for and we committed to work with. The Constitution is the guarantor of solving all the problems among the sons of the same homeland and equal rights between Arabs, Kurds, Turkmen and other components. Just for national wealth.
We have to do our duty to protect the unity of the country and its national wealth, which is the property of all Iraqis according to the constitution and not the property of a party or a person. Or group.
We believe that the need to end armed conflicts and stop the policies of interfering in the affairs of others for the special interest of this country or that and start a new phase of comprehensive cooperation and economic integration. We believe that our security, stability, economy and interests must be done. And we must end these conflicts and interventions that have left millions of displaced people and destroyed our national wealth in the region. And we are ready to unite our efforts with the efforts of our brothers to start a new era of peace, stability and development and establish a network of interests that serve our peoples and deepen our relations and open the doors of the future for young people instead of being kidnapped by gangs of terrorism and crime.
The Iraqis have presented thousands of martyrs and wounded in the battle to defend our land and liberate it from a criminal gang. There is little left to complete the final victory and to secure the Iraqi-Syrian border. It is a victory for all Iraqis and for the peoples of the region and for the whole world and we promised before liberating the territories. We can not open up the doors of hope for the Iraqis in the liberated areas and the whole country, and increase the chances of stability, investment and development. We hope this cooperation between the two countries will increase the chances of development.
Therefore, we call today for the closure of all doors that allow terrorism to return and to distance our region from the conflicts that have afflicted its peoples.
We are keen on cooperation and sincere in extending our hand and we will work to make any step that will consolidate security, stability, prosperity and development. We are optimistic about the Joint Coordinating Council between Iraq and Saudi Arabia and what it will achieve for our two brotherly peoples. I urge the ministers of both sides to cooperate.
I renew my thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the hospitality we have been given,
Peace, mercy and blessings of God .
