Iraq's position on the Paris Convention for climate signature and ratification
(Reuters) - Climate change is one of the worst environmental crises in human history, and it is ironic that developing countries with less responsibility for climate change will suffer the worst consequences. All of us are now responsible for seeking to stop this problem immediately, to address the causes that lead to it, and to find the solutions and measures to deal with it. If we fail to take the necessary measures now to halt the increasingly high temperatures, we may have dire consequences that can not be avoided in the future.
Since the first climate summit held in Sweden in 1972, climatologists, especially in developed countries, have been careful not to warn against the dangers of climate change on the planet from high temperatures, pollution in soil, air and water, the extinction of some animal and plant species and the spread of a number of diseases and epidemics And the drought of the aquifers, both surface and groundwater, also affect the geographical distribution of water resources and food to the population of the land, which results in poverty, wars and migration affecting more than one country.
In the face of all these factors, the United Nations has been holding international conferences on climate change and has been keen to agree to reduce the causes of climate change, especially greenhouse gas emissions, the main cause of climate change. At the end of 2015, world leaders and leaders met in Paris and agreed to protect the climate through Including the reduction of global warming more than two degrees Celsius than before the Industrial Revolution with the ambition to make 1.5 by 2050, as well as support and funding developing countries for losses and damage caused by climate change and to help them adapt and diversify the Iraq had an official presence represented by the presence of the President of the Republic, Mr. Fuad Masum, and his assertion that Iraq is committed to protecting the planet's climate and is interested in the concepts of sustainable development so that future generations have the right to a decent life and abundant resources. And available, and thus took the Paris Convention importance and applauded all of them for the ambitious steps towards protecting the planet and the future of life on it.
The agreement was signed by 196 countries and Syria was the last to accede to the Convention has been ratified by 169 countries to date, not Iraq, including, in dialogue with the Under Secretary of Environment and head of the Iraqi delegation in the negotiations climate summit 23 in Bonn d."Because of the special nature of the Paris Convention and its relation to fossil fuels and the reduction of emissions, the process of ratification requires legal and constitutional legislation. We have completed the text of the draft accession resolution and submitted it to the State Consultative Council and then to the Council of Ministers to sign it. And presented to the Iraqi parliament to vote and then proceed to the process of ratification officially "On the subject of the use of international support for Iraq in relation to the impact of Iraq on climate change, the farmer said:" The delay in the ratification process will not affect the benefit of the States Developing international support for those countries to compensate for losses and damage caused by climate change or to support national contributions for adaptation and mitigation of carbon emissions. But ratifying the Convention will strengthen Iraq's position in calling for international support as it keeps pace with global progress towards climate protection despite fragility. The country's infrastructure to withstand the challenges of climate change, in addition to the depletion in all areas of life because of the fierce terrorist attack on Iraq by the organization of calling the terrorist and occupation of more than a third of the area of Iraq, causing extensive destruction and damaged Significant environmental areas, and Iraq, as fighting terrorism, he is fighting on behalf of the world and the countries of the whole world be aware of and understand it. "
Perhaps the days will witness an Iraqi ratification of that agreement, which has paved the way for most of the world towards the lofty goal and the noble goal of protecting the planet, so that the Iraqi situation will remain present in international forums with strength and determination.

Financial Services Superintendent Maria T. The violations announced today stem from an investigation by DFS determining that from at least 2008 to 2015, Credit Suisse consistently engaged in unlawful, unsafe and unsound conduct by failing to implement effective controls over its foreign exchange business. As part of the consent order, Credit Suisse will also engage a consultant, subject to approval by DFS in its sole discretion, to review and report to the Department about the bank’s remedial efforts with regards to its FX business.

There's also the possibility that he could deliver an official statement about Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, who Trump previously said should "do the right thing" and step aside if allegations about him having inappropriate sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl turn out to be true

Of course, there's a lot happening in Washington right now, and Trump's hinted-at announcement could be in reference to one of any number of issues. Will he deliver an update on the administration's position regarding tax reform as two bills that differ in dramatic fashion wend through Congress? Perhaps some type of security announcement? Where the Council of Ministers formed a working group of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and ministries and relevant bodies to carry out inventory and assessment of the physical and human damage that hit the provinces of Sulaymaniyah, Diyala and other areas due to the earthquake that occurred on Sunday 12-11-2017 and to report the immediate needs.
The Council called for holding a deliberative meeting between the representatives of the Ministries of Interior, Reconstruction, Housing and Municipalities on activating the work of the central balances according to the laws and regulations in force for the ministries and monitoring the violations and proposing practical solutions to regulate the work of the weights stations.
The council voted on an Iraqi project and vision for the future of the region based on development and security rather than differences and wars.

The Cabinet also voted on the draft amendment to the first law of the Integrity Commission No. 30 of 2011.
The council also voted to reduce customs duties.
The Council discussed the situation in the region and its repercussions on Iraq and the peoples of the region and Iraq's firm position to stay away from the axis and play a role in the calm because what is happening in the region will harm all its peoples.

Abadi for the region: We do not wait forever to control the border crossings and we will take action
2017/11/14 20:47
[Ayna-Baghdad]
Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi called on the Kurdistan region to hand over border crossings to the government, stressing that it "does not wait forever to receive it."
"I am not saying that our patience is being implemented toward the Kurdistan region by handing over border posts, but we will take measures to impose control," Abadi said at his weekly press conference on Tuesday.
"There are no invasions but a spread of federal forces in accordance with the constitution and our troops were very careful to prevent the collision, but the other side bombed to push for military conflict."
"We have achieved most of our demands and we have achieved a weakening of what was ambition in imposing the federal authority. It is not the victory of a party on one side, but the success of all Iraqis. We will remain vigilant for national unity and we will not allow any national or sectarian excesses."
He pointed out that "reducing the salaries of employees 20% is an open lie and an attempt to corruption launched from the Kurdish side, but this does not benefit them," stressing, "We are committed to pay the salaries of staff, but we will pay it accurately to the staff of the region and prevent access to parties."
He called the Prime Minister, "the head of the regional government [Nechirvan Barzani] to take over his duties and resolve things quickly and we know there is disagreement in the leadership of the security services in Kurdistan."
"We do not resort to slogans and slogans, but we are in the working stage and we want others to remain silent and not to descend to the level of moral low and personal things are affected."
"We are working to restore federal control over all borders and we can send an army and fight to control it, but this is not courageous in killing an Iraqi citizen and we want to achieve this smoothly and peacefully."
Abadi stressed "the constitutional position in preserving the unity of Iraq and the extension of the federal authority, which is in the interests of Kurdish citizens and control of the border and border crossings is a constitutional and subject to the federal authorities only, and directed us to prevent any confrontation with the Peshmerga."
"We will not allow the return of terrorism again and it will be a security challenge and we have a strategy for that," he said. "The next challenge is security. Terrorists in their areas of existence. Terrorism is a corrupt thought that kills civilians in bulk. It is not found in Iraq, but in all countries of the world. "
He pointed out that "an expanded meeting of the next phase is intelligence to confront terrorism and end the military confrontation and this needs the participation of all the security services with the cooperation of citizens being essential and vital."
"Seven people were killed by earthquakes and about 100 wounded, most of them terrified," Ebadi said.
"We have directed the monitoring of the Darbandakhan dam and today we have seen more reports that there are cracks in the body of the dam, but we did not know the level of danger, and funds have been allocated for the dam and international experts have been invited to conduct a comprehensive assessment," he said. "We have allowed the Ministry of Water Resources to bring in foreign experts."
"They continue with the process of economic reform and the fight against corruption is important and any development and economic reform can not succeed without fighting corruption," he said.
He added that "oil prices have risen from the past but still below the required level to pay the basic expenditures in the Iraqi budget and hope to continue to rise and continue in coordination with OPEC."
On another, the prime minister stressed that "the quota is wrong and incorrect, and some wanted to mix it with party work and the election work for quotas is wrong and we will remain determined to address these steps."
"The threat of withdrawing from the elections and the political process is not a problem, and another bloc or party will come in its place, and we welcome all political blocs to open up new faces and young leaders," he said.
At the same time, Abbadi said that "the number of people killed in road accidents during the year of 4 thousand people and 100 wounded, which is parallel to the victims of terrorism."

Zimbabwe army seize power and "Mugabe okay"

[Where - Continue]
The Zimbabwean army on Wednesday announced its takeover of the government in an attack on "criminals" surrounding President Robert Mugabe, but he reassured that the 93-year-old president and his family were "fine."
In a brief speech on national television, which was seized by soldiers overnight, a military spokesman said the army expected "things will return to normality once the mission is completed."
Troops were deployed in several locations in the capital Harare and controlled the state-run broadcaster on Wednesday morning after Mugabe's ruling Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU-PF) accused the army chief of treason, fueling speculation of a military coup.
The army has arrested Finance Minister Ignacius Chumbo, a prominent member of a ruling party wing known as G-40 led by Mugabe's wife, Grace.
Just 24 hours after armed forces chief Konstantino Cheonga threatened to intervene to end a purge campaign against his ruling party allies, a Reuters journalist saw armored personnel carriers on major roads in the capital.
Soldiers asked passers-by to continue walking in the dark in a peremptory tone, and two hours later the soldiers took control of the headquarters of the official broadcasting agency ZBC, a key spokesman for Mugabe, and ordered the workers to leave.
Two staff members and a human rights activist said he had been dealt with harshly with many workers.
Shortly after, witnesses from Reuters said that three explosions rocked the center of Harare.

Stress protects you from dementia
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - A little stress slows the effects of aging, reduces the risk of dementia and helps you live longer, a new study suggests.
The scientists found that exposing parts of DNA to moderate pressure, enhanced the protein that builds.
Experts say this happens because the "survival strategy" appears as a reaction to stress. However, too much stress is bad as it increases the risk of heart attacks and other serious illnesses.
"Chronic stress is always viewed as potentially harmful, but we have found that when you get some stress, mitochondrial signals are interpreted by cells as a survival strategy," said lead researcher Professor Richard Morimoto of the University of Northwest Chicago. "This made the animals tested stress resistant, thus doubling their age," he said. "It's like magic."
The researchers hope they can get the same results when human experiments are carried out. Professor Morimoto says the findings "offer a new strategy for looking at aging diseases in humans, how we can prevent them, or maintain the condition as we get older."
"Our goal is not to try to find ways to make people live longer but to improve health at the cellular and molecular level, so that everyone has good health throughout their lives," Morimoto said.
