Oil prices rise after u.S. inventories fall
Crude oil prices rose Wednesday, after data from the American Petroleum Institute showed u.S. crude inventories fell last week.
Crude inventories fell 9.5 million barrels over the week ending September 11 to around 494.6 million barrels, according to data from the Petroleum Institute on Tuesday, and data showed a rise in crude consumption at refineries by 641,000 barrels per day.
Prices were also supported by a halt to more than a quarter of U.S. offshore oil and gas production as Hurricane Sally was expected to reach the U.S. coast and major export ports were closed as the storm turned east ward toward western Alabama, avoiding some Gulf Coast refineries.
At 0600 GMT, Brent crude rose 1.52 percent to $41.05 after losing more than 6 percent last week, while US crude rose 1.49 percent to $38.84.
OPEC lowered its forecast for global oil demand on Monday, just days before the OPEC+Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday, will discuss compliance with production cuts approved in April.
The corona epidemic continues to hamper the global recovery of fuel demand, with more than 29.1 million global cases,
However, oil demand expectations remain weak, limiting gains during the session. The International Energy Agency (IEA) on Tuesday reduced its forecast for demand in 2020 by 200,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 91.7 million barrels per day (bpd), arguing that the pace of economic recovery should be cautious.
Baghdad reveals new understandings made by Al-Kazemi in Erbil
Federal government spokesman Mustafa Al-Kazemi revealed, on Tuesday, that the latter’s visit to the Kurdistan Region had reached understandings on the budget, oil, outlets and other unresolved problems between Baghdad and Erbil.
Talal said, "The discussions dealt with the issue of ports and oil and the share of the Kurdistan Region and delivering them to Baghdad," noting that "the results will see the light in the 2021 budget."
The prime minister's spokesman touched on the changes that Al-Kazemi made in the positions, saying, "The changes made by the prime minister took place within the legal and constitutional context, and that some personalities have professional capabilities to manage their positions."
Tender
With regard to the issue of Iraqi ports, especially the port of Faw; Mulla Talal said, "The Prime Minister mentioned in today's session that Iraq has a sovereign and constitutional right to Iraqi ports, specifically the Grand Port of Faw," adding that Al-Kazemi "pledged during the session that his government would have the honor to actually start implementing the port of Faw."
Al-Kazemi said, "The reluctance to implement the great FAO project by previous governments came for unknown reasons, and there may be deliberate negligence."
Parliamentary Finance criticizes the government's actions regarding the 2020 budget and its submission date
The Parliamentary Finance Committee criticized the government's actions regarding the 2020 budget and the mechanism according to which it was calculated, in addition to the date of its submission, indicating that the budget should have been submitted more than a month ago.
Committee member Jamal Cougar said to "the information", "The government prepared the 2020 budget for a full year, and included the months that it spent a budget of 1 out of 12, and this matter is not permissible as it presented it as if it were a dedicated budget."
He added, "The budget for this year was long overdue, as the Finance Committee called on the government in July to submit the budget, but it was late in preparing it."
And that “the government, upon its request last July to hand over the 2020 budget, announced that it is busy preparing the 2021 budget, while the government has sent this year's budget to Parliament at this time, and therefore it is not permissible to legislate any law before a period of two weeks to implement the budget law in Parliament.”
Report: Nouri Al-Maliki is ready to "jump" in Baghdad with a "secret plan" being hatched by Khamenei!
On Wednesday, a press report discussed the visit of the head of the State of Law coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, to Iran, which was shrouded in much secrecy before his coalition revealed some of its details.
The report, which was published by Al-Arab newspaper and followed by People, (September 16, 2020), linked the visit to the attacks launched by armed factions in the capital Baghdad and other cities, and saw in it a “new political move, sponsored by the guide of the Islamic revolution, Ali Khamenei personally, and aimed at confusing the politics of Self-distancing, adopted by the Iraqi government. "
The text of the report follows.
The State of Law Coalition was forced to reveal some details of its leader Nuri al-Maliki's secret visit to Iran, after news leaked that it was linked to a new political move, personally sponsored by the guide of the Islamic Revolution, Ali Khamenei, and aimed at confusing the Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi's self-distancing policy.
Al-Maliki's office said that the latter arrived in Iran on Sunday "on a private visit that takes several days," noting that Al-Maliki, who leads the Islamic Dawa Party in Iraq, will meet "a number of Iranian officials, and he will also conduct routine medical examinations during the visit."
Al-Maliki's office in Baghdad found itself surrounded by questions, after it was leaked that the leader of the State of Law had left for Tehran on a secret visit, to meet with the Guide of the Islamic Revolution, Ali Khamenei, and officials in the Revolutionary Guard, led by Ismail Qaani, the commander of the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guard, in charge of managing the Iraqi file.
The questions related to the extent of Maliki's visit to Tehran related to a political move in Baghdad aimed at putting pressure on Al-Kazemi, or pushing for the withdrawal of confidence from him, if he did not review his efforts to move away from Iran and approach the United States and Saudi Arabia.
Political sources in Baghdad say that Al-Kazemi's confrontation in the media will not end in the interest of the political forces close to Iran, especially the Islamic Dawa Party, the State of Law coalition and armed militia leaders, because of the relative popular support that the Prime Minister currently enjoys, especially within the Shiite youth circles, which means the necessity Searching for a replacement.
The Iraqi writer Faruq Youssef believes that, in the stage of confrontation with the Al-Kazemi government, Iran needs to restore the services of al-Maliki, whose presence became ghostly after his services were dispensed with at the local level.
Youssef said in a statement to “Al-Arab” that Iran knows that Al-Maliki will do whatever it demands from him because of his difficult circumstances. Therefore, it is counting on him in the process of spreading internal chaos that will be accompanied by bombing operations that may affect Iraqi forces in addition to US interests.
In response to a question, will Maliki succeed in his endeavor? Youssef said that this is not guaranteed because many of the men of the Dawa Party have turned away from around Al-Maliki and considered it a burnt card, stressing that Iran will not lose anything, as Al-Maliki is not its only bet.
The political and militia forces affiliated with Iran believe that shuffling the cards at the security level may confuse Al-Kazemi's calculations and make him appear helpless, ahead of an electoral maturity, that may be decisive in determining the weights of the active forces in Iraqi political affairs. For this reason, the militias intensified their operations targeting the international coalition forces and the American forces in Iraq, without publicly adopting the operations.
Late on Monday evening, unidentified assailants launched a violent missile attack on the US embassy building in the fortified Green Zone, in central Baghdad.
One of the missiles fell in the vicinity of the embassy, while the US air defenses confronted other missiles, through intermittent bursts of projectiles, which lasted for minutes and caused a lot of anxiety in the vicinity of the confrontation site, which is in the middle of the most important and densely populated areas of Baghdad.
Such developments cast doubt on the ability of the Iraqi government to effectively establish security, secure diplomatic missions and protect civilian and military institutions.
Political sources say that Al-Maliki's visit to Tehran may include understandings with Khamenei and the leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard regarding the increase in security escalation against the Al-Kazemi government in Baghdad, under the pretext of resisting the occupying American forces.
Al-Maliki is one of the main political fronts of what is known as the Islamic Resistance Project run by Iran in the region, but he is keen to separate himself from the militia figures, in the media, so that he does not pay the public tax.
Thanks to al-Maliki, many militias, when he was prime minister between 2006 and 2010, begot, if he contributed to the release of many of their leaders detained in Iraqi and American prisons during that stage, and provided support for many of them to develop recruitment and arming.
Al-Maliki encouraged those accused of cases related to the sectarian violence in 2006 to defect from the Mahdi Army militia, which was founded by the cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, and to form new armed groups, such as Asaib Ahl al-Haq and the Nujaba Movement, among others.
Al-Maliki, who is particularly revered in Tehran, is betting on a strong return to the forefront of the Iraqi political scene in the next stage, after he was marginalized in the last six years under pressure from the supreme Shiite cleric Ali al-Sistani.
Sistani believes that Khamenei used Maliki for several years to push the Shiites of Iraq to fight bloody conflicts in Syria and Yemen on behalf of Iran.
Observers say that al-Maliki wants to be ready to jump in order to fill any political vacuum resulting from an expected security escalation in Baghdad, with the approaching elections, and the desire of pro-Iranian militias to set off conflicts that highlight the government's impotence.

9-15-2020 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat We also heard just recently that the governor position is up for grabs too and it is just a matter of time before they select and announce the new director. Then on Monday this announcement came out and I quote: “after the appointment of a new governor of the central bank … earlier in the day, prime minister Mustafa al-Kazemi made changes to senior positions, the most prominent of which was the appointment of Mustafa Ghaleb al-Kitab as governor of the central bank instead of the previous governor, Ali al-Alaq." This is WOW news! ...If these events were a piece of clay, we would see them molding Iraq into the necessary reforms that need to take place and get us to the bank... [post 2 of 2]
9-15-2020 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat Ours news today is extraordinary. It is all very good…finally! So, last week the new finance minister Allawi under al-Kazemi came out and told us they must revisit the exchange rate of the dinar. This week we hear from a British economists telling Iraq they only have two alternatives to survive: either to drastically cut expenditures or put their currency on a float and let the market drive it. This is their survival. Then again this period also, other Iraqi economists and financial experts also talked about the currency auction corruption. Then we hear the CBI deny it all. Amazingly enough then we get an article soon afterwards telling us that al-Kazemi is making many drastic changes in high level personnel positions in the CBI. Go figure? [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

9-15-2020 Newshound/Intel Guru Petra ...we got the new director of the Iraqi Trade Bank of Iraq...Kazemi replaced him. We now have a new chairman for the National Investment commission. We have a new Chairman of the Securities Commission. We've got a new Deputy of Operations for the Iraqi National Intelligence Service. We got the new Chairman of the Integrity Commission. All these people have to do with finance and law and enforcing law. But to replace every single financial leadership position in the country [Other than two banks]...talk about excitement. People have got to be ecstatic that he has basically come in here and changed every single person that has anything to do with finance in the that country. I have got to believe that was a requirement from the Fab 4...I'm very very excited about what's happening. It's all happened so quickly. And we're still within the 30-day timeline of when Kazemi was in the U.S. All this has happened in less than 30 days...it keeps getting better.
9-15-2020 Newshound Guru Adam Montana They [Iraq] put a lot of effort, time, and money into protecting a currency that isn't worth much... why would they do that? Answer: Because the current value is not permanent.
9-15-2020 Intel Guru Footforward [Looks like they did change the cbi governor. Alak has been replaced. Looks like about 8 others were replaced by al Khazemi as well.] ...Alak wasn't the hold up. They just needed a change culture wise in the CBI. It's had gotten stale. It helps to have him out but this one thing will not cause the RV to suddenly happen...
