link

The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghaleb, stressed, on Wednesday, that we need to combine the state’s measures to ease and reduce by launching a clearly defined strategy and starting with commodities that have an advantage such as agricultural products, noting that it is not hidden from everyone that the Central Bank plays an important role in achieving balance. Macroeconomic conditions that have passed since 2019 until now.
In his speech during the annual exhibition of finance and banking services, attended by "Economy News", he said that it is not hidden from everyone that the central bank plays an important role in achieving macroeconomic balance in light of the conditions that have passed since 2019 until now through monetary policy tools. We have faced many challenges, the most important of which are the decline in oil prices and domestic production, the high budget deficit of the state, and the high volume of the internal public debt.
He added that to stimulate economic activity and reduce unemployment, the bank launched an initiative with an amount of more than 5 trillion dinars, in addition to the previous initiative launched in 2015 to stimulate the various industrial and agricultural sectors, services and housing in a balanced manner with reduced interest rates and sometimes without interest, as in the housing sector to achieve an economic renaissance.
And between the governor of the Central Bank, we need to combine the state's measures by reducing and launching a clear strategy and starting with goods that have an advantage, such as agricultural products.
And he indicated that the Central Bank deducted treasury transfers 2020 and 2021 to finance the dues of the Ministry of Finance, despite the increase in debt and the negative impact, but it is a historical necessity to find a solution to the financial crisis that the country went through and to cross to safety.
He stressed that the Central Bank is working with the Ministry of Finance to reform government banks, as well as activating payment systems by activating financial inclusion and access to services to all citizens, as the number of accounts doubled from 3 million in 2019 to 6 million in 2020, and the number of electronic cards also increased From 10 million to 12 million cards.
He pointed out that as part of the Central Bank's efforts to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, it has succeeded in establishing an integrated system through the issuance of the Anti-Money Laundering Law No. 39 of 2015 and the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Office was established and issued several decisions that contributed to Iraq's exit from the gray area it issues. You missed, and the Central Bank seeks to establish a sovereign fund for future generations in which state institutions and oil revenues contribute. The presence of the sovereign fund reduces the potential risks in light of oil price fluctuations and contributes to building a secure future for future generations.
With regard to the issue of digital transformation, the Governor of the Central Bank confirmed that the bank is working on developing technical infrastructure and cybersecurity, automating services, and setting and opening electronic wallets

The company is currently investing in associated gas from three southern oil fields: Rumaila, West Qurna 1 and Zubair.
BGC is a 25-year joint venture that includes the state-owned South Gas Company with a 51% stake, Shell with 44% and Mitsubishi Corp. with 5%.
“With the increase in oil production, the associated gas will increase, and this is where discussions with the government take place, to look at the government’s intention and strategic vision for exploration and production suppliers,” Al-Janabi said in a statement to S&P Global Platts, and was seen by Al-Eqtisadiah News.
"For this reason, we have to reconcile expectations of upstream plans and investment from the Basra Gas Company," he added.

Borrow it. Believe me the interest rates are a heck of a lot lower than the taxes are by a long shot. And then when you do cash in pay the freaking taxes...Pay those taxes immediately. You don't need to have...the IRS show up. And then what happens? All those things that you bought have to be sold in order to satisfy a tax liability. 9-22-2021 Newshound Guru BobTheTaxMan Keeping your taxes as low as possible saves you money...Cashing in - my suggestion if you have just a small amount of IQD just cash in enough to meet your goals. You want to reduce those taxes as much as possible. [for example] I'm gonna say $1 just for a number...I think it's gonna be lower than that but for calculation purposes I'm gonna say $1. Lest say it does come at $1 and let's say you've got 2 million IQD. If you run off and cash that in, remember, you bumped over that $400,000 mark, you also got that extra 3% tagged on there and you got the state coming after you as well. You lost. [Post 1 of 2]

If I was the US treasury I would do that, 'Call me Mr. and Mrs dinar holder...I'll tell you what bank to go to.' The U.S. Treasury is going to be so desperate to help Joseph Biden because he's spending money left and right...if you want to exchange in an American bank go for it. 9-22-2021 Newshound Guru Kaperoni From time to time people ask me why they just don't float the currency now? Part of the reason is because this is on Iraq's time table...But most importantly, Iraq needs to create the engine to drive the economy forward first and foremost. Once they do they can float the currency and let market forces dictate the rate. That engine is a process of passing laws, creating a suitable business environment, and encouraging a diverse diverse market economy. Be assured everything Iraq is doing is being watched by professional organizations such as the IMF and World Bank.

Iraqi president seeks second term, believes he has ‘more to offer’
Sunni and Shia political forces see him as the most suitable for this position, but the matter will ultimately depend on the Kurdish parties’ agreement.
Monday 20/09/2021
The sources told The Arab Weekly that it is generally agreed in the region that Salih has discharged the role of president in a balanced manner and has worked hard on rapprochement between Iraq’s neighbours.
They add that Sunni and Shia political forces see him as the most suitable for job. However, the matter will depend ultimately on the Kurdish parties’ agreement on him serving for a second presidential term, after the parliamentary elections, which are scheduled for October 10.
The Iraqi president’s Erbil visit on Friday, coincided with his announcement he would like a second presidential term. He noted that much will depend on the outcome of the elections.
“My first task is to hold the elections in peaceful conditions and I look forward to serving for a second term, as I have a lot to offer in this position,” the Iraqi president said during a television interview.
According to the sectarian and nationality-based quotas that have prevailed in the political system since 2003, the office of president goes to Kurds while the Shia hold the position of prime minister, and the Sunnis head the parliament.
Salih clearly went to Erbil to urge the leadership of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, headed by Massoud Barzani, to renew their agreement for him to serve a second term.
The leadership of the two main parties, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan headed by the family of the late President Jalal Talabani and the Kurdistan Democratic Party led by Massoud Barzani, must agree on the person of the president of Iraq.
Although Salih did not meet Massoud Barzani during his visit, he did have talks with Masrour Barzani the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, on “developments in Iraq and the region”. Discussions are said to have focused on the pending problems between the federal government and the Kurdish region.
The official statement issued after Salih’s meeting with Barzani did not mention the issue of the president’s quest for a second term. However, a source close to Salih confirmed that he had discussed the issue of the second term with Kurdish leaders.
The statement said discussion focused on “the upcoming Iraqi vote, with an emphasis on ensuring free and fair elections that guarantee the rights and aspirations of all Iraqi components and contribute to security and stability in Iraq.”
The Iraqi president is trying to end a row with Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani. This erupted after his 2018 selection by parliament as president at the expense of the Kurdistan Democratic Party candidate, Fouad Hussein, who took on the portfolio of minister of finance in the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi and then to the position of minister of foreign affairs in the current government.
Salih broke away from the National Union because of disagreements with its leadership after the death of President Talabani. He formed his own party to run in the general elections in 2018. He did not win significant votes and eventually returned to his original party in a deal that included abandoning his political ambitions in the Kurdish region, in return for his candidacy to the position of president.
Since Barham Salih left Sulaymaniyah in the Kurdistan region of Iraq for the presidency in Baghdad, the Talabani family, headed by the son Bafel, has tightened its grip on the stronghold of the Patriotic Union in the Kurdistan region.
Analysts rule out that Salih is looking to lead a broad political project in Iraq. He is more focused on continuing to serve as president as he enjoys a political understanding with Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi on a number of issues.
Salih, in his alliance with Kadhimi, has raised the concerns of the Kurdish forces, led by the Kurdistan Democratic Party and its leader Barzani, while Kadhimi’s alliance with Salih seems to provoke the Shia parties who had agreed to task him to lead the government after he pledged not to run for elections.
There was much speculation about the possibility of President Salih’s alliance with Kadhimi leading to a pan-Iraqi political project, especially since two leaders have been close friends for decades. They hold similar political views marked by liberal inclination and affinity with the Gulf states, the West and the United States.
