A leader in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan hinted today, Tuesday, that the Federal Court's decision regarding the oil and gas law in Kurdistan is subject to a "political agenda", while indicating that it will not help solve the chronic crisis between Baghdad and Erbil over oil.

The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Erez Abdullah, said in a statement to Earth News, "All decisions of the Federal Court are binding and respected, but the question is, does this decision help to solve the oil and gas problem between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, or does it cause other political complications?"

He added, "I think without the legislation of the oil and gas law, this problem will remain between the two parties, and I hope that this decision will help to expedite the legislation of the law and solve this problem," noting, "But how does the Federal Court issue this decision without a legal basis, because neither the Kurdistan Regional Government nor the government The Federalists are reluctant to legislate this law, but the lack of agreement on its content and on this draft law has left the problem unresolved.”

And between “this decision and other decisions (all other federal decisions) interfered with a political agenda, because the country is going through complex political crises, and this decision is one of these decisions,” stressing, “I hope that this decision will help expedite agreement on a draft law and its legislation by the House of Representatives.” It solves this lingering and chronic problem between the two parties.”

The Federal Court had decided this afternoon, Tuesday, to prevent the Kurdistan region from exporting oil in its favour, and obligated it to hand over the federal government's oil export revenues, based on a lawsuit filed by the Ministry of Oil before the Federal Court.

In a tweet on Twitter, which was seen by the "Information" agency, Kurdi said, "In the past seven months, with oil prices rising to more than $90, but the Kurdistan Region's oil revenues were only $350 million."

He added, "These numbers mean that each barrel of oil goes from only $25 to employee salaries, and the rest goes to European banks in the families' account. That's why they want to turn the decision of the Federal Court to the issue of nationalism!"

Including Defrauding Customs .. “Ericsson” Reveals Serious Violations In Its Work In Iraq

The shares of Ericsson, the telecommunications equipment manufacturer, fell 10.3% at the beginning of trading on the Swedish Stock Exchange, during Wednesday's trading, after the company announced that it had discovered serious violations of the company's work rules and ethics in Iraq, as part of an internal investigation of its operations.

According to the company's press release, the internal investigation revealed illegal payments to intermediaries for transporting goods, the use of alternative transportation methods, and defrauding Iraqi customs, at a time when terrorist organizations, including ISIS, controlled certain transportation routes.

The investigation found support for corruption-related misconduct, through cash donation without a clear recipient, payment to a supplier for work without scope and documentation, use of suppliers for cash payments, inappropriate travel and expense financing, and inappropriate use of sales agents and consultants.

In addition, violations of Ericsson's internal financial controls, conflicts of interest, non-compliance with tax laws and obstruction of the investigation were found.

According to Ericsson, several employees have been fired from the company and several additional disciplinary and corrective actions have been taken.

Ericsson said in the statement that investigators were unable to identify the final recipients of the payments.

What we see is that transportation routes have been bought through areas controlled by terrorist organizations, including ISIS, Ericsson CEO Borg Ekholm said in an interview with Dagens industri.

And we have no opportunities to determine who is the ultimate recipient of these payments.

News of the internal investigation adds another embarrassment to the company after a long-running corruption investigation, including a $1 billion settlement in 2019.
