The frame awaits the green light from Al-Hananah, and Al-Sadr chooses between Baghdad and Najaf

link

A source in the coordination framework that includes Shiite forces except for the Sadrist movement revealed that forces in the framework sent a message to the leader of the Sadrist movement to review his recent decision and return to the political process.

The source told Shafak News Agency; "The coordinating framework sent a message to the Sadrist bloc to determine the position regarding the determination of a delegation from the coordinating framework to go to al-Hanana to meet al-Sadr and discuss with him to reverse the decision to withdraw and start negotiations."

He added, "If the response from the Sadrist bloc comes with acceptance, then a delegation from the framework headed by Hadi Al-Amiri will go to Al-Hanana to negotiate, but if the response is that the negotiation will take place in Baghdad, everyone will attend a round table."

He added that "the framework is awaiting the Sadrist bloc's response to its message," noting that "one of the most important themes included in the message is that they (the framework) will move towards forming an expanded majority, and the Sadrist bloc must be informed of this to determine their position on this and try to persuade them to change their position."

The head of Al-Fateh Alliance and the leader in the coordination framework Al-Amiri intends to send a delegation from the coordination framework, to Al-Hanana in Najaf governorate, in an attempt to persuade the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, to reverse the decision to withdraw from the political process.

But the two statements of the last framework did not indicate the desire of the coordination framework to send any delegation to discourage al-Sadr from his decision, and focused on the need to continue dialogues with the political forces to form a government.

However, an informed source in the coordination framework said yesterday, Tuesday, that a delegation that includes some of the framework's leaders will go to Al-Hanana in the province of Najaf, in an attempt to persuade the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, to reverse the decision to withdraw from the political process.

This comes in conjunction with what a source close to the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, revealed yesterday to Shafak News Agency, about launching an initiative aimed at ending the political crisis and returning the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada al-Sadr to the political process after withdrawing from it.

Meanwhile, a source close to "Al-Hanana", the headquarters of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, revealed, on Tuesday, a move that may put al-Sadr in a position to reconsider his decision to withdraw from the political process.

Washington: We are ready to work with any Iraqi government on condition

link

A US State Department official confirmed today, Tuesday, that the United States is ready to work with any Iraqi government.

The statements of the American official, which were reported by Al-Hurra website, come a day after 73 deputies from the Sadrist movement submitted their resignations from the Iraqi parliament, which marked a new turning point in the country, which is going through a political crisis that disrupts the election of a president and the selection of a prime minister.

The official avoided commenting on the resignation of the deputies of Muqtada al-Sadr's bloc from the Iraqi parliament, and said, "There is no comment on the developments that took place."

He added, "We are ready to work with any government that puts the sovereignty of Iraq and the interests of the Iraqi people at the center of its agenda."

After eight months of early legislative elections and countless political initiatives, the political process in Iraq has not progressed. This depends on the consensus between the Shiite parties that have dominated the political process since 2003.

Zero Hour"...mysterious leaflets in central Baghdad hinting at demonstrations

Mysterious publications in Baghdad

While uncertainty and anticipation prevail in the political scene in Iraq , after the resignation of the representatives of the Sadrist movement, the largest bloc in Parliament, mysterious leaflets were found in the streets of the capital, during the past hours..

He wrote on many of those papers that were distributed in the streets of Baghdad, "zero hour" and "the storm is coming", according to Al-Arabiya information.

Activists reported that these expressions indicate preparations for large-scale demonstrations in Iraq in the coming days, and possibly on Friday.

political forces meeting

Especially since the distribution of leaflets took place yesterday evening, Tuesday, after a meeting of the emerging forces that were formed after the demonstrations that swept the country two years ago

A group of new political forces emanating from the Tishreen movement met and presented the most prominent elements of their vision for a political solution, the most important of which is the formation of a national salvation government and the change of the Electoral Commission and the electoral law, in preparation for holding new elections.

These forces also called on the political parties to give priority to the language of dialogue and to stay away from weapons.

tough choices

However, the Coordination Framework Forces (which includes pro-Iranian parties) also confirmed yesterday, after it appeared that the largest bloc had become, as a result of the resignation of the Sadrist bloc, which includes 73 deputies, that the issue of dissolving parliament and holding new parliamentary elections is not currently on the table.

It is noteworthy that the resignation of the deputies of the Sadrist movement, led by Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, put opponents and allies in the country before difficult choices.

Many analysts saw that any government without al-Sadr would be "deadborn," considering that the issue of forming a new government would not be easy at all, according to the Associated Press.

While others suggested that this unprecedented mass withdrawal of members of the Sadr bloc from parliament for the first time since 2005, would lead to widespread demonstrations in the street.

Faced with these bitter options, the Iraqis find themselves in the same predicament that began after the elections on the tenth of last October (2021) and continues to this day, without a government or a new president, while the economic and living crisis pressures them.

Biden to meet with Saudi crown prince in July visit

link

The president is expected to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, a senior administration official said.

June 14, 2022

President Joe Biden, who on the campaign trail vowed to make Saudi Arabia a global “pariah” for its human rights abuses, is expected to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman when he travels to the kingdom next month, the White House confirmed to reporters Tuesday.

Biden’s visit to the oil-rich country comes as part of a broader trip to the Middle East from July 13-16. Following stops in Israel and the West Bank, Biden will travel to the Saudi coastal city of Jeddah to attend a summit of nine leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council plus Egypt, Iraq and Jordan.

A senior administration official said Biden expects to see the powerful crown prince, who US intelligence says ordered the operation that killed dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The prince, who is often referred to as “MBS,” has denied personal involvement.

Since taking office, Biden has kept the heir to the Saudi throne at arm’s length. He instead engaged directly with the ailing King Salman, who the White House considers Biden’s official counterpart.

After more than a year of giving MBS the diplomatic cold shoulder, the Biden administration defended the seeming reversal in the president’s handling of Saudi Arabia and its de facto ruler.

“While we’ve recalibrated relations, we’re not seeking to rupture relations because Saudi Arabia has been a strategic partner of the United States for eight decades and we share a host of interests,” the senior administration official told reporters on a call.

The Biden administration views the kingdom as critical to a number of its foreign policy objectives, including containing Iranian influence and ending the civil war in Yemen. Earlier this month, Biden thanked Saudi Arabia for its “courageous leadership” in securing the extension of a two-month-old truce in Yemen.

Surging gasoline prices amid a boycott of Russian oil have also put pressure on Biden to make amends with Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s largest oil producers. The national average for gasoline prices topped $5 a gallon on Saturday.

The president’s long-rumored visit has raised concerns among some in Biden’s own party. A group of leading Democrats including House Armed Services chairman Adam Smith (D-Wash.), called for Biden to “recalibrate” engagement with Saudi Arabia in a way that serves US national interests.

Human rights activists were quick to condemn what they see as a betrayal of Biden’s campaign commitment to hold Riyadh accountable for its repression of dissidents. In a joint letter to Biden last week, 13 rights groups urged him to “secure genuine progress on human rights before acting in a manner that would bolster the status of the crown prince.”

The senior administration official told reporters that human rights were always part of the administration’s foreign engagements.

“Our administration is not overlooking any conduct that took place before we entered office,” the official said.

Legal clarification of the mechanism for withdrawing or rescinding the resignation from Parliament

link

Legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi explained, today, Tuesday, the mechanism for withdrawing or rescinding the resignation from Parliament.

Al-Tamimi said in a statement received by Earth News:

1. There is a difference between the employee who is entrusted with a public service… according to Article 2 of the Civil Service Law 24 of 1960… and between the person charged with a public service and who is entrusted with a public service, for example, representatives in Parliament are considered to be entrusted with a public service..according to Article 19 of the Penal Code Iraqi. ….

2. Resignation is defined as a voluntary severing of the job link from the employee and it stems from the employee’s will and also acceptance by the manager and the legal effect that it entails is also important..

3. In the Civil Service Law 24 of 1960, Article 35.. Of it, the resignation shall be by a written request to the administrative reference and to be decided upon within 30 days. The employee has the right to rescind the resignation as long as no administrative order has been issued within this period above. …..

4. Since the resignation of members of the Sadrist movement was submitted to the Speaker of Parliament in accordance with Article 12, Paragraph 2 of the Iraqi Parliament Law 13 of 2018, and he approved it… This resignation needs to issue a parliamentary order…..confirming the resignation and then the Speaker of Parliament approach the Electoral Commission to send the names of the replacements .. The best losers in the electoral district according to Article 15 of the Elections Law 9 of 2020 .. Then a day is set for the Parliament session to take the constitutional oath before the Parliament according to Article
5. As long as these procedures were not completed .. and the replacements did not take the constitutional oath It is possible for those who have resigned… to rescind their resignation and in the same way submit a request to the Speaker of the House of Representatives to rescind it..because they were under great psychological pressure…and the public interest… requires this reversal…..

6. The resignation is still under the will of the administrative reference, i.e. the Speaker of Parliament, and the deputy submitting the resignation has the right to demand its cancellation and withdrawal because the unequivocal desire to resign is not fulfilled.. These are the general rules that are referred to, with no details in the constitution, the parliament’s internal system, or the parliament’s law.

The most important statement of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi during the cabinet session held today, Tuesday:

In these days, we remember the fall of the city of Mosul in the hands of the terrorist gangs of “ISIS”, and these moments invite us to reflect and reflect on the reasons that led to this; To avoid what happened eight years ago.

We praise and thank God for the blessing of the supreme religious authority, its wisdom, and its courageous stance.

Today, we have to think about our present and our future.. and learn from what happened in the past years, and work with all our energies; For the sake of our future generations.

Today, security is controlled by the efforts and sacrifices of our security forces, of all kinds, and the borders are very secure. I supervise on a daily basis military and security operations.

Our forces are ready and present to defend Iraq, all of Iraq, and for the Iraqis, all Iraqis.

I will not enter into the political discussion, and the political forces must assume their responsibilities towards the people and the country.

The government faced the most difficult circumstances and was able to overcome them through difficult and important measures that proved successful.

There are those who try, through social media, to incite violence and chaos, and this is unacceptable, and they will be held accountable.

There are those who use media platforms to call for being drawn into violence and harming the public interest of citizens.

I call on everyone not to be deceived, and not to be drawn into such calls, and for everyone to be patient, wise, and rational, and give priority to the interests of Iraq and the Iraqis.

The country cannot bear it, and the government is working with all its efforts, and it needs budget and stability in order to move forward with its projects to serve the citizen, and to stabilize the living conditions of citizens.
