Three Katyusha rockets fell into Iraq’s Balad air base
Iraq’s Security Media Cell announced on Thursday three Katyusha rockets had fallen into Iraq’s Balad air base, 80 km (50 miles) north of the capital Baghdad, which houses U.S. forces but caused no casualties or losses.
A number of rocket and mortar attacks have hit bases hosting coalition forces and landed near the U.S. embassy in Baghdad in recent months. The United States blames Iran-backed militia groups.
Parliamentary Finance: The budget for 2020 does not exist, and the government started with the budget for next year
The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced, on Thursday, that the government has begun preparing the 2021 budget, and while it indicated that there is no budget for 2020, it confirmed that an upcoming meeting will bring it together with the Minister of Finance to agree on a date to present it to the Council.
A member of the Finance Committee, Sherwan Mirza, told / Al-Maalouma / that "there is no looming 2020 budget on the horizon in the near term yet."
He added, "The government has begun preparing the 2021 budget and preparing it in preparation for approval by the Council of Ministers, and then sending it to the House of Representatives for passage."
Mirza explained that "the committee is in the process of an expected date that he collects with the Minister of Finance to see the most prominent contents of the 2021 budget, the steps for preparing it, the doors of its disbursement, and the time that the government can complete and send to Parliament."

She explained, "The third file is the completion of voting on the election law," noting that "approximately 90 percent of the election law has been resolved, and the remainder is only related to electoral districts, especially since disputes are still going on."
Jawdat added that "the fourth file is to amend the Federal Court Law, for the purpose of re-activating the court's work. It is now suspended due to the lack of a quorum in it."

8-13-2020 Newshound Guru Kaperoni ...The first thing a lop does that benefits Iraq is it reduces the money supply from trillions to billions. Which is a must. The second thing it does is by deleting the zeros it puts the currency on par with other currencies. And lastly once this is done the dinar could go up in value, but it would not significantly increase its value X1000 like most are wishing for. It would increase minimally. Not what we want to see if they chose this path. So yes, a LOP does benefit Iraq.

Remember the Untied States is a trade empire...Iraq is trying to comply. That's how you measure this thing correctly...Iraq is doing everything they can right now through parliament and their laws to get attached to the U.S. dollar...they want to be part of the west. They want to be part of our market. And that's what they're doing.

That's really the #1 thing that you guys have seen since the beginning of this year...all the articles coming out have been talking about Kurdistan and Baghdad reaching a comprehensive agreement. IMO they will not reach an agreement until September. You guys know September is red hot...Iraq only has money to cover them through August...they just told you they are not going to be borrowing anymore money.

They spell it out in a VERY crystal-clear fashion for the population. They tell them in a totally unmistakable way that their large note will be the same value as the smaller note, and that the large note has a very short life span in the marketplace before they become worthless. Has Iraq in any way, shape, or form indicated any of this to their population? NO!! As a matter of fact, they have been very coy in how they are treating the "removing the 3 zeros" and have stated very clearly that the large notes will CO-EXIST with the lower denominations. I can't see from Iraq's behavior how this could be a LOP.

8-13-2020 Intel Guru Bruce [via WiserNow] ...Iraq has definitely revalued the currency – I know what the rate is - IN COUNTRY – that means in that country of Iraq – and it’s between $8.50 and $9.00 – I’ll just tell you that – That doesn’t meant that is what we’re going to get here by the way – Our rate could be significantly higher – In fact – yesterday – when the ISX came on for the first part of the week - our week – Monday – they - that’s the Iraq Stock Exchange - they were trading but they shut it down after the first half hour of trading...The reason they did that was because during that time the Iraqi Dinar was also trading and going too high...they did not want the value of the dinar to exceed what their expectations were for it – my understanding was in that half hour of time the market was open the Dinar increased 50% in value...So – I don’t know exactly where that puts us – I know roughly what I’ve heard – where we should be – but all I can say is regarding Dinar and Dong – specifically - I think you have absolutely nothing to worry about and it wouldn’t surprise me if both of those could be in double figures – now that would be a front screen look...

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi meets with members of the Elections Commission in the presence of a number of ministers and security leaders
The Prime Minister, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kazemi, held a meeting today, Thursday, with the Chairman and members of the Council of the Independent High Electoral Commission, in the presence of a number of ministers and security leaders, to discuss the technical preparations for holding early elections as scheduled, on the sixth of June of next year.
Mr. Al-Kazemi affirmed that the current government is determined to hold the elections on the date it has approved, based on the fact that it is a public demand and is consistent with the directives of the rational authority and the desire of the political forces, in addition to being one of the priorities of the government program, and it is committed to it.
He urged the Election Commission to intensify its efforts to complete its preparations for the elections, stressing that the government would work with all its capabilities to hold the elections on schedule.
Mr. Al-Kazemi directed all ministries and departments to overcome obstacles and facilitate the necessary procedures before the Independent High Commission, to work with all means to hold the elections on time.

Reconstruction of Jesus Church and the Nineveh Pledge Building in Old Mosul

Are you one of the people who used to wash meat before cooking it? If you are, then you must change this habit.
Although washing some foods with soap and water is related to hygiene and health, this does not apply to meat and poultry.
The Higher Institute of Public Health at Alexandria University in Egypt said that “washing meat and poultry before cooking or even just rinsing them with water is considered a cause of the spread of many bacterial pathogens such as salmonella bacteria and others,” according to (Lebanon 24).
The institute pointed out that "the cooking process alone is sufficient to eliminate any bacteria present in the meat, provided that it is cooked at a temperature of at least 73".
In addition to not washing meat, the institute mentioned 3 basic tips that must be followed when dealing with raw meat, namely:
- You must start preparing food that will be served fresh and without cooking, such as salad for example, before handling raw meat or poultry. These foods must be kept away from the place where meat is prepared.
It is important to clean and disinfect any surface that may be contaminated by meat or poultry, in addition to cleaning surfaces and basins with hot, soapy water.
After handling raw meat, wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
