Oil prices rise in light of a drop in US inventories and Brent is close to $ 45
Oil prices rose, Wednesday, after inventory data showed a significant decline in US crude oil stocks, with Brent approaching the price of $ 45.

Absence of the private sector
The private sector is an important part of the Iraqi economy, but unfortunately this sector has been neglected since 2003 and there is no interest in it. There is a view that it is an enemy because it is the main player in the economic process.
Today, Iraq is going through a complex economic crisis that has caused great damage to the country. We must all believe that the public sector alone cannot cross the country to safety without the participation of the private sector.
The government should be serious about this issue and enter the private sector with all economic operations, but rather be part of economic decision-making for Iraq, and must provide all the needed legislation, decisions, facilities and security cover.
In addition to that this sector will solve many of the country's problems, including unemployment, which Iraq suffers from, but has become at the forefront of countries with high unemployment rates.
Especially every year, more than 400,000 students graduate from Iraqi universities. Of course, government jobs cannot accommodate this huge number of graduates, so we must go towards the private sector after the stalled private economic institutions are reopened and attract investors.

Rocket fired towards US Embassy in Baghdad
A Katyusa rocket was fired towards the Green Zone in Baghdad where the US embassy is located on Tuesday night, according to Iraqi media.

The Iraqi Stock Exchange announced on Monday that it was suspending its activities for 12 days on the occasion of eid al-Adha and a curfew.

The Council of Ministers holds its regular session headed by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi
The Council of Ministers held its regular session today, Tuesday, 4 August 2020, headed by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kazemi, during which a number of issues included in his agenda were discussed.
The Council started its session by discussing the latest developments in the work of the Committee to Promote Governmental Action, in the areas of prevention, health control and awareness about reducing the spread of Corona virus.
The Council also discussed the procedures followed to implement the quarantine, and to emphasize adherence to preventive measures, especially those related to wearing masks, social separation and preventing gatherings.
The Cabinet discussed the issue of attendance in schools and universities in light of the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, and the Prime Minister, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kazemi, instructed to hold an extraordinary session of the Council of Ministers devoted to discussing students ’attendance for the next year in the Ministries of Education and Higher Education.
In the context of his discussion of the agenda for today, the Council of Ministers issued a number of decisions:
First / Approval of the draft law on protection from family violence, which was reviewed by the State Council, and referred to the House of Representatives, according to the provisions of Articles (61 / item first, and 80 / item second) of the constitution, taking into account the opinion of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers installed under Memorandum of the legal department with the number: D / Q / 2/2 / None, signed on 7/7/2020, and the notes presented to the Cabinet.
Second / The Council discussed the prepared report regarding the maintenance of the Mosul Dam, the filling works, and the rehabilitation of the lower ports of the Mosul Dam, in accordance with Contract No. 1002 of 2016.
And based on what was presented by the Ministry of Water Resources, the Cabinet decided the following:
1- Approving the opinion of the international consultant engineer in resolving the contentious paragraphs of a contract (1002/2016) according to the contract and liquidating the contract dues, provided that the following is implemented:
A- Submit clearances from all concerned authorities, according to the terms of the contract and Iraqi law.
B- The Ministry retrieves any sums incurred as a result of the international consultant’s spending of it in a duplicate manner.
2- Approval for the Ministry of Water Resources to take advantage of the remaining financial abundance, with the documentary credit for the Mosul Dam Contract referred to above, and instruct the ministries of Planning and Finance to allocate this remaining financial abundance from the credit, to maintenance of the island tunnel and purchase of spare tools, materials and equipment important for maintenance and rehabilitation of the dam Mosul and other dams.

The Prime Minister, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kazemi, honored today, Monday, by visiting the tomb of the two imams, Musa bin Jaafar Al-Kazim and Muhammad bin Ali Al-Jawad, peace be upon them in the city of Al-Kazimiya.
His Excellency led the visiting ceremony, praying to the Almighty to preserve Iraq and its people, and to facilitate the affairs of the country, in the interest of business and the full satisfaction of God Almighty, soul, and people.
Mr. Al-Kazemi was honored by visiting the tomb of Imam Abu Hanifa al-Nu`man bin Thabit, may God be pleased with him, in the city of Adhamiya, and he led the ceremony, invoking prayers to the Almighty to preserve Iraq and its people, and to broaden his mercy on the country of the prophets and guardians.
His Excellency visited the headquarters of the Iraqi Fiqh Academy, met with the Sheikhs and distinguished scholars in it, and discussed his sovereignty with them on public affairs, as he stressed the role of scholars, jurists and clerics, for everything that is good for all Iraqis, appreciating their effort and role in promoting societal peace and stability in the country.
On the sidelines of his visit to the city of Al-Kadhimiya, the Prime Minister met with His Eminence Ayatollah Al-Faqih Al-Sayyid, Hussein Al-Sayyid Ismail Al-Sadr, as long as his shadow, and the meeting discussed the settlement of opinion, the goodness of the situation, the best of people and guidance in caring for their affairs.

Basra Basra Parliament member Faleh Hassan Al-Khazali revealed on Tuesday that the number of suspended ministerial projects exceeded 6 thousand projects, amounting to 300 billion dollars.
