Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi arrived with the accompanying delegation to Washington, DC.
According to the delegation, today Wednesday (Baghdad time) will witness a series of meetings that will focus on the economic aspect, including a meeting with a large number of major companies and economic institutions on the reconstruction of Iraq.
Officials in the delegation say that contracts will be signed with major companies at the level of gas, oil and electricity, in the presence of the ministers of oil, electricity and finance.
Al-Kazemi will also hold a session with American economic institutions, and start the second round of the strategic dialogue between Iraq and the United States, the first of which took place via videoconference on June 12.
Al-Kazemi is also holding a meeting with a number of American research centers.
On Thursday morning Washington time (August 20, 2020), Al-Kazemi will meet US President Donald Trump for an initial one-hour session.
The Iraqi delegation received a reception that was described as 'exceptional', as a large number of streets in the American capital were closed.
Parliamentary Finance decides to adopt a new mechanism for allocating employees' salaries in the 2021 budget
A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Ahmed Hama Rashid, revealed, on Wednesday, his committee’s intention to adopt a new mechanism in the 2021 budget with regard to employee salary allocations.
Rashid said in an interview with Alsumaria News, "Iraq It needs six billion dollars a month to cover the salaries of employees, but according to oil prices, what arrives monthly to the state treasury is four billion dollars, which means a deficit of up to two billion dollars per month that is covered by the current stage of one chapter, which is internal borrowing, "indicating that" this situation He made the issue of salary delay a routine that would happen more than once.

Al-Maliki comments on Al-Kazemi's visit to Washington: 'I also visited America 5 times'!
The leader of the State of Law coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki, played down the importance of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi's visit to the United States, refusing to describe it as historic.

Al-Maliki expressed his surprise at describing the visit as historic, stressing that he also visited the United States several times.
Al-Maliki said in a televised statement for the "Game of Chairs" program, which was followed by "People" in its colloquial language, "What follows when I am visiting a historic one? What is my opening?"
He continued, "Is this the first time that we visit America? Did I not visit the United States four or five times? .. The world's convictions and strategic visions do not move by visit, especially as we witness the American role that is intended to be in Iraq."

8-18-2020 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat ...the CBI has not even given any indication that they have set a time period as a target to complete or begin the project to delete the zeros...I can tell you right now, without any reservation, that you will not see a reinstatement until early January 2021 at the earliest. I only hope we don’t have to go yet another year after that even...January is the best time to reinstate the dinar. This is the beginning of the Iraqi fiscal year and so for accounting purposes it makes total sense...I expect some actions from the CBI late this fall concerning the project to delete the zeros, but only if they decide to go in January with the reinstatement. This will be our indicator of intent. Get it? No secrets here. They MUST tell the citizens of Iraq what they intend to do and can’t hide this...

Whether it's before, during or right after [Kazemi's trip to Washington]. I'm of the option that they've got to do it before but that's me. I could be wrong for sure. I foresee Kazemi going back to his country with a new rate with all this business that has been committed by our president between Iraq and the U.S. which they've commented on in many articles that he will come back with his head held high, with a sovereign country, with a new currency, and a huge amount of business committed to by our government. That is what I imagine is going to come...

Because Iraq's on that list within the U.S. the big banks do not exchange Iraq's currency.

I think it's a combination of a Peace Deal, trade agreement, Sovereignty announcement, and support for Iraq "Internal Financial Reforms." RV happens shortly thereafter. What "Shortly" is will be quite variable. IMO sometime between August 20th and January 1st. But just IMO. But it will have to be epic to suck up all the MSM attention, so I wouldn't be surprised if Al-Kazemi made some sort of announcement standing next to the President. But we shall see. What else is happening that has been scheduled for awhile? Yep that's correct, Joe Biden accepting the Dems nomination. What does Trump want to do most of all? He wants to suck the oxygen out of the news cycle and make Biden's acceptance speech a non-event. How does he do that? He makes a BOMBSHELL announcement shortly before Biden takes the proverbial stage. Who will be with him at that time? Yep, PM Al-Kazemi. What will this BOMBSHELL announce be? It could be a whole lot of things. Iraq, Kuwait, and S.A. recognizing Israel? Massive trade deal with Iraq? Anything else? [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

This is big. I think what would kick-start this is an announcement by Trump for the international community to once again recognize the sovereignty of Iraq. I think more now than ever before you could see this stage is being set for the Iraqi dinar rate change to finally change....
The Cabinet held its weekly meeting on Monday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister told the Cabinet that reducing bureaucratic obstacles and cutting red tape in Iraq require bold decisions, which this government will take in order to serve the Iraqi people.
The Cabinet discussed Covid-19 and reviewed the implementation of preventative health measures to combat the coronavirus.
The Cabinet received a briefing on the electricity sector in Iraq, and agreed measures to address some of the challenges facing the sector so that it is ready to meet the surge in demands next summer.
The Cabinet discussed employment opportunities for graduates, and decided to appoint medical graduates to positions in the health sector throughout Iraq, on the condition that they don’t assume their new posts until after the 2021 Federal Budget has been approved.
The Cabinet discussed and approved a draft first amendment to the Law of the Iraq National Oil Company, and referred it to the Council of Representatives.
