An Iranian website quoted an official of the Revolutionary Guards: We are the ones who bombed the Turkish forces in Iraq
The anti-authority website "Iran International" in Tehran reported on Friday that the Revolutionary Guards are responsible for the bombing of Turkish forces in Iraq.
The site said that it obtained an audio recording attributed to Mahdi Taeb, head of the "Ammar" headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards, in which the latter said: We are the ones who bombed the Turkish military forces in Iraq.
This comes at a time when the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) talked about the existence of coordination between the Iraqi militias loyal to Iran and the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) against the Turkish forces deployed in Iraq and Syria.
A report issued by the Pentagon’s Inspector General regarding the developments of Operation Inherent Resolve during the period between January 1 and March 31, 2022, indicated that “the militias loyal to Iran have intensified the pace of their attacks on Turkish forces in Iraq and Syria.”
The report stated that these Iraqi armed militias during the first quarter of this year targeted military bases of the Turkish army in Iraq, adding that these attacks in some cases came in coordination with the Kurdistan Workers' Party.
The report states that "prominent militias" are increasingly expressing opposition to the actions of the Turkish army and have launched missile attacks on Turkish military bases in Iraq and Syria.
In this regard, the report pointed to an attack on a Turkish base north of Mosul, after air strikes launched by Ankara on PKK sites in northern Iraq last February.
According to the report, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) of the Pentagon came to the conclusion that “these militias may continue to coordinate with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in their response to the air and drone attacks” launched by Turkey on PKK sites.
According to DIA assessments, the pro-Iranian Iraqi militias believe that their attacks against Turkey will “deter” Ankara from attacking workers’ positions inside Iraq and will enhance its image as defenders of Iraq’s sovereignty.
Iraq .. Al-Sadr woos the independents with his initiative and doubts that it can be achieved
An independent Iraqi parliamentary bloc has finally announced its acceptance of the initiative put forward by the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, to grant independents the opportunity to form the new government within a period of no more than 15 days, while the majority of political blocs, including the independent ones, remained silent about the initiative. The "coordinating framework", which exacerbates the political scene.
The "coordinating framework" had put forward an initiative to get out of the political impasse, in which it focused on the right of the majority (the Shiite component) to be prime minister and to form a consensus government.
The initiative included paragraphs calling for giving "independent deputies" who enjoy "the support of the component" an "opportunity" to present a candidate for the position of prime minister, in an attempt to win them over, while al-Sadr responded hours later with an initiative in which he offered the independent representatives to form the government "through his alliance", and promised with their support, on the condition that they are far from
In the midst of this heated political debate and competition to win the independents, Al-Sadr's initiative seemed the most attractive to them, especially given the opportunity to form a government.
The "Independent Iraq" parliamentary bloc was the first to comment on this, declaring its acceptance of Al-Sadr's initiative, and said in a statement, "Belief in national responsibility, and to give priority to the public interest, and to get out of the political impasse and respect the constitutional terms, our bloc, headed by independent MP Abdul Hadi Al-Hasnawi, announces acceptance of Al-Sadr's initiative by invitation." Independent representatives to form an independent national government that expresses the aspirations of the citizen and seeks to improve services and rebuild the country.
And she called on "independents, whether from the independent Iraq coalition or individuals, to unite efforts and speak out to come up with a meaningful independent political formation capable of developing a solution to the current crisis that the country is going through."
The "Independent Iraq" bloc added: "We also call on all political forces to support the national initiative and renounce differences, and not to influence the brothers of independent representatives, whether by threat or threat, and to respect the will of the voters away from partisan and factional interests, as the citizen has suffered a lot as a result of the political blockage and delay The formation of the government did not reflect negatively and clearly on the rights of the citizen, services and building the country.
As for the "Extension Movement", which is an independent movement, it has not yet announced any official position on that, while Raed Al-Saleh, a member of the movement's political bureau, confirmed that "his movement will study Al-Sadr's initiative."
Al-Saleh said in a televised statement that "the first initiative (the coordination initiative) mentioned the independents with shame and shyness, and said that they have the right to choose the prime minister," considering that "
He stressed that "the ball is now in our court, and that our movement is studying Al-Sadr's initiative in depth to reach an effective opinion on it," stressing, "We are with initiatives to solve the political blockage and get out of the crisis, especially since the people need a government to pass the budget and other obstructive matters."
He added, "We will deal positively with the initiative with certain conditions and guarantees, and these guarantees are not in our interest, but in the interest of the people," stressing, "We are in principle with the initiative, and we will have a clear position on it soon."
Since Wednesday night, the independent representatives have been conducting extensive contacts regarding the Sadr initiative. An independent deputy in the current parliament said, "Al-Sadr's initiative is unexpected, and there is no doubt that all independent representatives need several days to put their papers in order."
The deputy, who preferred not to reveal his name, pointed out that "Al-Sadr's initiative is clear, but the problem lies in the possibility of independent deputies agreeing and forming one bloc of 40 deputies, and they are still divided and differing in their positions on the current crisis."
And he indicated that "there are major overlaps between the independent representatives that need to be overcome," noting that "the contacts started since yesterday night, and there will be efforts to hold deliberative meetings between the independent forces and individual deputies to discuss a consensual formula."
He stressed that "the independents want to be a party to solving the crisis and heading towards forming a government, and not to be a point of contention in the political equation."
This is taking place amid expectations of the complexity of the political scene in the country. Kurdistan Democratic Party MP Majid Shankali said in a tweet on Twitter: “The summary of the political scene is an initiative and a counter-initiative, their centerpiece is in brackets (the independents), and things in this way do not go well and do not call for pleasure. "
The importance of the independent representatives, who number more than 40, is that they are a party that may favor one of the parties to the political crisis in Iraq, but there is nevertheless a sharp division among them regarding attending the parliament session to nominate the president and complete its quorum or boycott it.
Some independent parliamentarians do not accept to turn to supplement numbers and put forward a different vision of the current crisis by naming an independent prime minister, amid the continued efforts of the axes of the conflict, the "Save a Homeland" coalition and the "Coordination Framework" coalition, to gain their support. Their presence in Parliament became decisive after the decision of the Federal Supreme Court, which stipulated that choosing the President of the Republic is valid only through the vote of two-thirds of the number of parliamentarians, i.e. 220 deputies, which is something neither of the axes could achieve without the votes of the independents.
Iran "takes a rabbit out of the hat" and is an independent candidate to rule Iraq
Surprisingly, the Shiite "coordinating framework" proposed the idea of handing over the prime ministership, the first executive position in Iraq, to an independent figure, through an initiative that includes 9 proposals and 9 pledges, which reflects the successive decline in Iran's control of the elements of the power equation in Iraq. But it also refers to the crux of the confrontation between the two ideas of Iran's allies and the "triple alliance."
The Shiite coordination framework includes the armed parties and factions loyal to Iran, which have been engaged in a confrontation for the past six months to curb the tripartite alliance project "Save the Homeland" led by the Sadrist movement led by Muqtada al-Sadr, the Kurdistan Democratic Party led by Massoud Barzani, and the "Progress" party headed by Muhammad al-Halbousi, which is aligned with the party. The other Sunni "Azm" headed by Khamis al-Khanjar.
Retreat stations
After the demonstrations against the government of Haider al-Abadi in 2016, and then during the formation of the government of Adel Abdul-Mahdi (2018), the forces that currently constitute the "coordinating framework" mocked the demonstrators' demand to hand over some service ministries to independent "technocrats", and stop influencing the ministers. Budget looting. The powerful forces, especially those loyal to Iran, used to talk about their "political entitlements" and that handing over positions of money and influence to independents was considered an imaginary demand.
After the collapse of their seats in the last elections in the fall of 2021, the intransigence of these forces reached the point of threatening a “Shiite-Shiite war” if a government was formed that did not conform to the mood of the Iranian camp.
The factions have already repeated displaying their weapons in the streets of the capital several times.
But the tone decreased, after the factions discovered the difficulty of finding many Iraqis willing to fight in the alleged Shiite war, in order for Qais al-Khazali to continue residing in his palace in the center of the capital, or for the eyes of the head of the “Popular Mobilization Authority” around which for years there have been suspicions of concealing tons of dues. Fighters on the fronts, in the interest of financing factional activities.
It took Iranian loyalists longer than usual for those with normal IQ levels to come to terms with the fact that a major change had already taken place within Iraqi society after the October 2019 protests. To crown this belated attention, the parties that refused to concede a few ministries to the The independents in 2016, offering the entire presidency of the government to the independent in 2022.
The focus of the “real” dispute between the framework and the tripartite
It is certainly not a confrontation between good and evil, nor integrity and corruption, not even independence and dependency, but it is precisely a conflict in depth between two dangerous ideas.
Iran's allies say that the name of the Iraqi prime minister should be born exclusively from within the consensus of the Shiite blocs, although the term "Shiite blocs" is floating, and cannot be clearly defined. But they ran independently, rebelling against the Shiite blocs, as well as more than 73 "Shiite" deputies in the Sadrist bloc, who together with their Shiite allies, make up more than 100 deputies, out of 329, but the "framework" forces say that this assembly is still not qualified. "Shiite" to take the decision to nominate the Prime Minister.
In other words, the "framework" says that the "real" Shiite decision is the one that comes from Iran's allies in particular, while the other Shiites are "not Shiite enough," and that "the Shiite who does not identify completely with Tehran, may be an Emirati Saudi Shiite." , or a follower of the American embassy, or even a Zionist,” as in the accusation made by Qais Khazali, to 4 combat teams linked to Ali al-Sistani’s authority, the “Popular Mobilization Authority” left and announced its association with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
As for the trend against the way of life imposed by Iran's factions on Iraq, it asks whether these factions originally express the aspirations of Iraqi Shiites, before delving into the extent of their eligibility to issue certificates of "Shiite good faith."
The "Waliies" also view the maps of the countries of the region as a colonial heritage that must be dissolved in the map of a major Shiite Islamic nation headed by Khamenei. This idea is borrowed Shiites from extremist Sunni organizations, such as the "Muslim Brotherhood" and the "ISIS" organization, which celebrated in 2014. In a visual version called "Breaking the Borders", the organization's elements destroy the border signs between Iraq and Syria.
Based on this, the third paragraph of the recent "framework" initiative says that "the nomination of the prime minister is the exclusive right of the Shiite blocs," whatever their sizes.
The translation of this on the ground is that an Iraqi party that won one seat, such as the Kata’ib Hezbollah faction or the Virtue Party, has the right to participate in the nomination of the Prime Minister of Iraq, while another party that won fifty seats does not have the right to participate in the decision. Dam is not a "Shiite party".
In line with the idea of the "Shiite right", the "Framework" initiative consolidates the rest of the "components' rights" when it speaks that the position of the President of the Republic must be subject to the consensus of the Kurdish parties, and that the position of Parliament Speaker must be born out of Sunni consensus.
The competition for gains may be one of the aspects of the struggle between the "Tyreen" and the "Triple Alliance", but what makes this conflict a popular concern is that it comes after a long struggle against the transformation of the three presidencies into sectarian fiefdoms that were settled in advance.
Iran's allies want all Iraqi Shiites of all political tendencies to be included in a forced alliance in the name of the "biggest component", and for the factions that shed blood and rained missiles on Baghdad, with other representatives, the factions' bullets were raining down on their heads, and that everyone smiles at a group picture titled "Shiites' representatives." .
Tehran confiscates the right of Iraqi Shiites to political difference and diversity, and openness to similar partners from other Iraqi components, and the Iranian armed faction wants to force a component of more than twenty million people to line up in the morning and chant the slogan under the banners of 40 armed factions, led by a few wanted for the judiciary, and a few classified on lists Corruption, terrorism and crimes against humanity.
Supporters of the "triple alliance" say that the Iraqis' conviction to participate in the elections is dying, with the turnout rate in the last poll reaching only 20 percent, and that the main reason for the reluctance and boycott is the pre-determining of key positions, dividing them in advance between 3 components, and the lack of possibility of creating Any breach through the ballot, so the experience of the "trio" in building a cross-sectarian government coalition appears to be one of the last attempts to salvage Iraqis' faith in the feasibility of the political process and elections.
Tanks, silencers and drones in front of an idea
A leader in the "frame" says that he must be involved in the government, the factions have tanks, machine guns, and drones, and the framework cannot be pushed to the opposition, and the factions often boast about the level of their Iranian equipment and funding, but this arsenal seems useless. In front of the idea of smashing sectarian homes, and producing a new ruling equation.
What Iran's allies say in their latest initiative belongs to the most backward forms of government. The elections, according to the initiative, will be mere referendums within the components, on the redistribution of sizes between the forces of each component, and on the other hand, they represent a prelude to the political fragmentation of the country, coinciding with attempts at social fragmentation. Iranian platforms in Iraq lead him to the goal of ending the idea of Iraq, and analyzing it into its "primary elements", among a group of neighboring powers, in the manner of the "Eastern Question".
The leaders of the armed factions say that they are ready to sacrifice their ministerial shares, and they offer temptations to al-Sadr, by giving him all the Shiite ministries, on the condition that he withdraw from the “triple alliance” and return to the “Shiite House of Obedience” in naming the prime ministerial candidate, and not to his partners in the cross-sectarian alliance.
What is worth stopping at Iran’s allies’ offer to hand over the government of Iraq to an independent candidate is not the extent of the sincerity of this initiative. Various circles considered it a “maneuver” to escape forward and gain time in the face of the “troika”, especially since the forces close to Iran are known for this type. of clever maneuvers.
But the most important thing is the Iranian camp's rushing from the point of holding on to a minister here or a director there, to the willingness to sacrifice everything in order to abort the idea of a cross-component alliance, despite all the ills that accompany the "Save the Homeland" alliance.
Since the framework announced its initiative, the necks of some deputies close to Iran, who ran individually, outside the party lists, but the Iraqi public opinion has been busy since Wednesday morning, excavating and exposing the links between the “alleged independents” and the factions, in a preemptive reaction to any attempt to pass a “Trojan” ".

Al-Kazemi's advisor clarifies the implications and impact of the US Federal Reserve raising interest rates on the Iraqi economy
The financial advisor to the Prime Minister, Mazhar Muhammad Salih, explained, today, Friday, the implications and impact of raising interest rates by the US Central Bank on the Iraqi economy, while identifying two matters for managing currency risks, foreign reserves, exchange rates and interest.
Saleh said, to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the implications and impact of raising the interest by the American bank on the Iraqi economy are twofold, the first is that the country is the debtor party, as the increase in interest on the US dollar will lead to an increase in the cost of loans withdrawn in dollars, especially those whose benefits are determined." The annual basis is based on the market or (moving) interest in dollars, which is indicated by the financial markets on the rise, such as the (Libor) interest, which is the interest of lending and borrowing between banks in dollars in the London market, and even if some loans carry a fixed interest on the loan itself, but they carry a (prudent risk margin around the fixed interest). itself) and called (spread), in order to avoid market fluctuations,” noting that “the latter, that is, (the spread) will rise automatically, taking into account the high interest risks.”
The statement added, "As for the second part, and with the country being the creditor, investing in dollar deposits or US bonds for Iraq will be expected to raise returns in the future, with US interest rates mostly rising, and it depends on the nature of the contractual interest, is it fixed or variable?" If the interest on dollar bonds are It has a fixed contractual character until the maturity date, and it is required to liquidate it in the secondary market and transfer it to liquid cash for various purposes.

Stock futures fall after Dow’s worst day since 2020, jobs report looms
Global oil prices rise on Friday morning, affected by two issues
Oil prices rose, on Friday, as investors assessed the possibility of a shortage in oil supply in light of the “OPEC +” decision, and the European Union’s efforts to impose a ban on the purchase of Russian oil.
US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 0.57% to $108.88 a barrel.
Brent crude futures rose 0.60% to $111.56 a barrel, according to Bloomberg website data.
The rise in prices comes in light of the decision of “OPEC +” to adhere to the current production policy and to increase the group’s oil production, according to what is planned in June 2022, by 432,000 barrels per day, which raised concerns about a possible shortage in the supply of crude.
Prices also received support from the European Commission's proposal to impose a gradual ban on the purchase of Russian oil, as part of the sixth package of sanctions against Russia.
