Today, Monday, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, affirmed that Iraq will not return to the square of quotas and corruption, while describing the actions of the blocking third as "disgraceful."

Al-Sadr said in a speech addressed to the Iraqi people and was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "I was not surprised even an iota of the blocking third and its obstruction to the formation of the proud government, since its members do not exist without authority, but has the insolence reached the point of disrupting the laws that benefit The people (your eye is your eye), there is no new majority government that may benefit the people, and there is no current government that can serve and benefit the people.”

He added, "They target the people and want to subjugate them, and the most amazing thing is that the tribes go along with the disgraceful actions of the blocking third, in terms of who knows first." The land of Iraq with thefts, kidnappings, and murders, until Iraq’s politicians became an example to be emulated with corruption and immorality, except for a few, whose impact has faded and is still fading away.”

Al-Sadr addressed the blocking third, saying, “You found an excuse between you and God and between you and the people for obstructing the formation of the government, so what excuse do you find before the Creator and creation for your obstruction of the people’s livelihood and their dignity? Do you think that these actions of yours will compel us to ally with you, no and a thousand no, pointing out that "we will not return Iraq to the square of quotas, corruption and abhorrent consensus."

He continued, "Consensus perched on the chest of Iraq and its people for many years, harvesting the green and the dry as they express, and it clearly harmed everyone with a view. So how long will the camel remain on the hill, and for how long will corruption and consensus remain the master of the situation while the people are boiling and suffering and there

is no relief.

A well-informed source said earlier to Earth News, "The coordination framework is holding a meeting this evening at the home of the leader of the victory coalition, Haider al-Abadi."

He described that "the meeting will discuss the latest developments in the political arena," stressing that "the meeting was devoted to the Shiite forces affiliated with the framework, and there will be no participation of the Sunni and Kurdish forces allied with it."

Al-Sadr temporarily abandons the formation of the Iraqi government

link

The "Coordination Framework" coalition in Iraq, which includes Shiite parliamentary blocs with the exception of the Sadrist movement, announced its support for the initiative of a number of independent deputies to name a neutral prime minister to form the new government.

This came hours after the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, announced his abandonment of forming the government for a period of 30 days, and moving to the opposition during this period.

The Coordination Framework said in a statement yesterday that it is committed to assigning a neutral candidate to form the government to end the political deadlock.

For his part, al-Sadr said in a statement: "We have an option left that we must try, which is to turn to the national opposition for a period of no less than 30 days."

He added, "If the parties and parliamentary blocs, including those we had the honor of allying with, succeed in forming a government to alleviate the suffering of the people, then it will be blessed, otherwise we will have another decision to announce at the time," without details.

Al-Sadr explained that the reason for making the decision was due to the increasing calls on him from inside and outside, and the idea of forming a national majority government, without naming any party.

Although the coalition - led by al-Sadr - occupies 175 seats in parliament, it failed to form a government after rival forces within the "coordinating framework" disrupted the parliament session to elect a new president.

Iraq indicates economic and financial recovery: We want more

lin

Today, Monday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi chaired an economic meeting devoted to discussing the current financial and economic conditions in the country.

A statement by Al-Kazemi's office said that the meeting came "in light of the reports and positive indicators developed by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank," and the meeting was attended by the Minister of Finance and advisors specialized in financial and economic aspects.

At the outset of the meeting, the Prime Minister affirmed that the strategy that was developed to address the financial and economic conditions has succeeded in overcoming the challenges that the government received at the beginning of its formation, and that the growth of indicators mentioned by international reports is a reflection of this strategy.

He added that the momentum that succeeded in raising the country's economic situation must continue, and that we should continue to strive for more.

He listened to a detailed presentation by the Minister of Finance on the Iraqi economic reality and the good international indicators in light of the escalating growth of the Iraqi economy despite the great challenges it faces, as international reports indicated that the total foreign currency reserves increased significantly, in addition to achieving a good level of revenues. According to the statement.

During the meeting, it was pointed out that Iraq controlled food prices locally, despite the double increase in their prices globally, as well as the achievement of growth in the domestic product that exceeds what was achieved in the countries of the Middle East and North Africa.

The report showed that inflation rates in the internal economy were controlled, and the current account balance rose, as well as a noticeable rise in the overall financial balance.

In its report issued last April, the World Bank confirmed that Iraq ranked first in the Arab world with the largest growth in GDP and per capita for the year 2022.

And the World Bank report expected that "Iraq's gross domestic product will grow this year by 8.9 percent, exceeding the rest of the Arab countries, including Qatar, which is expected to grow by 4.9 percent, Saudi Arabia 7 percent, and Kuwait 5.7 percent."

Today, Monday, Parliamentary Finance Head Hassan Al-Kaabi sent a strongly worded message to MPs and blocs contributing to (aborting) the Food Security Law.

The text of the message stated:-

To every parliamentarian and political party that contributed to aborting the food security bill.

Your standing before God Almighty and the testimony of 40 million Iraqis will be:

1- Depriving the Iraqi people (the poor and marginalized) of receiving (11) food rations for (6) months, the allocations of which were guaranteed by law, in addition to a strategic stockpile to face the high prices of basic foodstuffs globally!

2- Depriving our people of (8) thousand megawatts of electricity in the hot summer? At a time when others enjoy the bliss of cooling and air conditioning!

3- An increase of 100 thousand dinars per (1 ton) of wheat marketed to Iraqi farmers and farmers over prices for the past year, and these segments also lost it after the abolition of the law!

4- Depriving thousands of unemployed people and social welfare of the people from (733) billion Iraqi dinars, which were allocated to them within the law!

5- Depriving (15) governorates of (10) trillion dinars that would have been spent on their children only and not on citizens of a foreign country!! Especially the holy governorates (Najaf and Karbala), where their budgets have been doubled, and the governorates (Al-Muthanna, Diwaniyah, Maysan, Wasit and Babil) by increasing their budgets by (100 billion) dinars for each of them over the budget for the development of the regions.

6- Depriving Iraqis of establishing and rehabilitating hundreds of hospitals and schools in all governorates!

7- Depriving all Iraqis of (500 billion) dinars to rehabilitate external roads and the so-called (death) roads that claim thousands of innocent victims annually!

8- Depriving the families of the martyrs from (300 billion) dinars that were allocated to the institutions of martyrs and political prisoners!

9. For the first time in the history of budgets, (one trillion dinars) is allocated to the governorates producing and refining oil (petro dollars), only “Basra” would have received 80% of this amount, being the largest producer, exporter and refiner of Iraqi oil and the rest of the other governorates!

10 - Continuing to work in the reconstruction funds, especially (the reconstruction fund of the dear Dhi Qar Governorate), which suffered neglect and marginalization from previous governments!!

In conclusion, I say.. when you stand in the hands of the Mighty and Mighty.. How will you be when you contributed to depriving your people of the most basic and daily needs of your people..

(Stop them, they are responsible) God Almighty has spoken the truth

Oh god, I advised oh god, witness

Will The Iraqis Suffer From Hunger? An Economist Clarifies About The Abolition Of The Food Security

Link

On Monday, the economic expert, Nabil Al-Marsoumi, played down the importance of the statements of the political blocs that canceling the Food Security Law would harm the Iraqi economy.

Al-Marsoumi said in a Facebook post seen by / the information /: "Far from exaggeration and intimidation, the picture is not as bleak as some painted and promoted by the media that Iraqis will suffer from hunger."

He added, "It is true that the economic situation is difficult, but the allocations that can be spent this year are not small if they are better used. For example, 794 billion dinars can be spent this year on the ration card, 3.335 trillion dinars to buy wheat and rye crops from farmers, and 1.723 trillion dinars to import energy." .

He explained that "these funds can be increased by Parliament through the transfer of some amounts in the budget, even if this requires making some amendments to the regulations and instructions that may hinder this, which fall within the powers of the ministers or the Council of Ministers.

Citizens complain about the high prices and demands that urgent plans be drawn up to lift the weight off their shoulders

In light of what the country is experiencing from the repercussions of the economic crisis, the people are complaining about the high cost of living amid calls for urgent plans that include solutions

In the midst of the economic crisis that the country is experiencing, the citizen suffers from hardship and the high cost of living. Many justify this by the high exchange rates of the dollar, as well as the lack of job opportunities. This comes at a time when the markets are witnessing an unprecedented increase in the prices of necessary foodstuffs.

Others find it necessary to develop strategic economic plans to strengthen the state's imports, and thus the possibility of supporting the citizen and ridding him of the repercussions of these crises is available

Many stress the need to show seriousness in monitoring prices in the markets and putting an end to cases of monopoly and exploitation in order to reduce the burden, even a little, on the shoulders of the Iraqi citizen.

Iraq: Al-Sadr is betting on keeping Al-Kazemi as prime minister

link

After offering the independent representatives the opportunity to nominate the prime minister, Muqtada al-Sadr began searching for the next option to break the political deadlock in the country: to keep Mustafa al-Kadhimi.

Seven months have passed since Iraqis voted in parliamentary elections in October, and fierce competition between two camps: one led by the powerful Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, and another backed by Iran has prevented the formation of the government.

Al-Sadr called a week ago about forty independent parliamentarians to form their own bloc, consisting of Sadrist representatives, Sunni parties, and the Kurdish Democratic Party, and to nominate a prime minister supported by his coalition.

However, Iraqi political leaders participating in the government formation talks told Middle East Eye that Al-Sadr does not expect much from them in this regard, but rather looks forward to keeping the current Prime Minister Al-Kazemi in office for a period ranging from six months to a year.

A prominent leader in the Sadrist Alliance ("Save a Homeland") who is close to the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, told Al-Monitor, "Al-Sadr is not in a hurry to form a government, and maintaining the status quo for six months or a year is one of the solutions that are strongly suggested now."

He added, "There is no circumstance or factor pressing locally or internationally on any of the parties to the tripartite alliance to expedite the formation of the government." And he added, "The United States is preoccupied with other regions of the world, and is not concerned with what is currently happening in Iraq. As for Iran, the continuation of the situation as it is is less harmful than the fighting of Shiites among themselves."

Parliament revitalization
Al-Sadr effectively dominates Al-Kazemi's government, and since his current victory in October, he has tried to form a "majority government" in cooperation with his Kurdish and Sunni allies that would marginalize the Iranian-backed Shiite factions known as the Coordination Framework Gathering.

All of these factions boycotted Parliament due to their dissatisfaction with their exclusion from the next government, ensuring that the legal quorum is not complete to follow up on the formation of the government, but the ongoing stagnation will also be harmful.

If al-Sadr can continue to monopolize power by controlling parliament and the Kadhimi government, the influence and power of Iran-backed groups will diminish.

In proof of his seriousness, Al-Sadr did not wait for the two-week deadline for independent members to expire before taking his next steps. He and his allies announced the continuation of Parliament's work regardless of the boycotters attending its sessions or their absence.

Although the election of the parliament speaker and the nomination of the prime minister require a vote of two-thirds of the parliament's deputies, only half (ie 166 deputies) can pass its legislation, and al-Sadr and his allies achieved 186 votes.

The parliament presidency - that is, the speaker and two deputies - consists of the head of the Sunni bloc, Muhammad al-Halbousi, a member of the Sadrist movement and a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and they promised to revitalize the parliament.

And according to what three deputies told Middle East Eye, the deputy speaker of parliament, Hakim al-Zamili, who belongs to the Sadrist movement, informed the heads of parliamentary blocs about choosing the appointments of parliamentary committees, which will begin immediately.

As for the annual budget, it is the first legislation to be approved. However, the current disputes, the suspension of parliamentary sessions, and the delay in forming parliamentary committees prevented its approval.

With no budget, government projects, offices, and social welfare networks will soon run out of money. To avoid this, al-Sadr and his allies last month submitted a "mini-budget" bill for an urgent vote under the name "Food Security and Development Law."

The law will allow the monthly disbursement of 35 trillion Iraqi dinars ($23 billion) from surplus monthly oil sales, international grants and donations, and loans that will be deposited in secured bank accounts under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance. Thus, the country will actually run for several months without agreeing to the annual budget.

A vote on the "food security" law is scheduled this week.
A prominent pro-Sadr leader told MEE: "We will not allow the country to be held hostage. We will implement the constitution, and the constitution provides for a legally recognized parliament, a speaker of parliament, a president, a prime minister, and a government."

"In practice, there will be no problem if a new government is not formed for a few more months. We have a parliament and a government, and both of them will perform their duties without any problems," he added.

Marginalization of Iran's allies
Before al-Sadr's election victory and his calls for a majority government, Iraq was ruling unanimously. Since 2003, political forces have been operating under a power-sharing agreement, in which influential positions - civilian and military - are shared between parties according to representation in parliament. Some are given out of courtesy and favoritism, and some are given as a reward. Appointments to these positions can only be approved by Parliament.

But with the absence of political consensus amid the fierce competition between the parliamentary blocs, Al-Kazemi and his predecessors were forced in recent years to occupy these positions by appointing “acting” temporary officials to circumvent the parliamentary process.

For nearly two decades, Iranian-backed forces have dominated the Iraqi government and parliament, holding nearly two-thirds of the top positions.
Leaders in the Sadrist movement said that this percentage will change "completely", and that appointments without Parliament's approval will "end soon."

A prominent parliamentarian said that al-Sadr's alliance has the ability to maintain or dissolve parliament, and that the current situation does not hinder his project. "On the contrary, he inflicts severe damage on his opponents," he added.

Al-Sadr MP said that steps will be taken to appoint new officials once the deadline for independent representatives expires. He added, "There is a new philosophy for management, and this philosophy needs new men. Accordingly, we will work to replace the old team with a new one. We will end the administration of the country by proxy. This is what everyone wants and this is what we will do."

It's gonna be a lot of changes. Until the end of week you will see a change of parliament, change of CBI people, change health department, education, of everything.  Everything is going to be changing.  The only thing they are not going to f%$$#$ change (sorry about my language) is the money.  We're still waiting.   And waiting.  And waiting.  They're talking about having a new currency...They didn't show us anything yet...next week I think more news gonna come out.  Better news.  Important news...

5-15-2022   Newshound Guru Kaperoni   The latest articles I've seen indicate Iraq now has over 103 trillion dinar in circulation, one report states 50 trillion is in the homes of Iraqi citizens because they don't have confidence in the banks.  Even the idea that Iraq could significantly RV the Iraqi dinar with that much currency in circulation is nonsense...Iraq's entire net worth including minerals and oil in the ground is $16 trillion dollars.

5-15-2022   Newshound Guru Sandy Ingram   Question:  "Which banks take Iraq dinar at this date and time?"   In this article "What Banks Take Iraqi Dinar?" we learned that there are 3 banks that you can exchange Iraqi dinar in the Middle East.  The central Bank, The National Bank of Jordan and the National Bank of Kuwait are 3 banks where you can exchange the Iraqi dinar.  So if a group is traveling and it's not safe or it's not feasible to go directly into Baghdad then Jordan or Kuwait is an option.  At least that is how it stands today...

5-15-2022   Intel Guru Frank26   Is there something else needed for us to have the RI Sit the government.

5-15-2022   Newshound Guru Militiaman   Article:   "Parliament will not obligate the government to send the general budget .. and food security will be a temporary alternative"  ...The part of this that may get over looked is that it is rate oriented.  Notice they don't mention it.  They can't.  But, they will.  imo  Like they said. The Emergency Food Law is "Synonymous" with the 2022 Budget Law. Get ready.. imo.

5-15-2022   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat      ...I...made a call to the CBI and learned that they are planning the project to delete the zeros sometime in late May or early June. This was as much details as they would give...we may very well see this move quickly once the president is voted on. I am hearing all is set to go for the reinstatement. All have a “green light”. So, the plan is laid  only we don’t know about the entire plan. It is set for much sooner than later...I do not want to over-speculate but things are really lining up.
