The Central Bank signs a memorandum of understanding
with the British side to develop procedures to combat money laundering and
terrorist financing
The Governor of the Central Bank
of Iraq, Ali Mohsen Ismail Al-Alaq, signed a memorandum of understanding with
the British Ambassador to Iraq, Frank Baker, aimed at developing and supporting
measures to combat money laundering and terrorism financing. The Central Bank
notes that the agreement signed on Wednesday 2/2/2017 includes a financial grant
from the British side of the Central Bank of Iraq, which in turn will be
dedicated to supporting efforts in the field of combating money laundering and
financing of terrorism through the organization of courses and workshops to
develop capacities in cooperation with specialized international
institutions.

PM Rafidain Bank said that the
submission of an advance to five million employees of the state departments is
by sending the names of the employees of the department to the bank in addition
to the presentation through the website of the bank.
The bank's information office said that "the grant process will be through the authority of the employee's department who wants to get the advance through the account manager to provide a book attachment with the [CD] system salaries of the Department's employees to the bank branch authorized to grant the advance to complete the procedures and disbursement very short time without the issuance of Or to support continued service or salary '.

of Ministers held its regular session Tuesday, July 4, 2017 under the
chairmanship of the Prime Minister Dr. Haider Abadi.
During the meeting, a vote was taken to establish the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council. The issuance of bonds and foreign loans was also decided on the basis of the provisions of paragraph (B / II / deficit) of the Federal Budget Law of the Republic of Iraq for the fiscal year 2017 and in accordance with the provisions of Article 2 of the Public Debt Law of 2004, Bonds and external loans mentioned in the fact sheet and the Federal Budget Law for the fiscal year 2017 for the purpose of enabling the negotiating delegation to complete the procedures for issuance of foreign bonds.
The Council also voted to approve the minutes and recommendations of the Committee formed by the Council of Ministers Resolution No. 168 of 2017 on the subject of sovereign guarantees.
The first amendment to the Law of the Ministry of Interior No. 20 of 2016 was voted on.
The draft law on the amendment of the first law of passports No. (32) for the year 2015, and the appeal of Article 2 of the law exempting foreign companies and subcontractors foreign contractors in the rounds of licensing rounds of fees.
The Council also voted on the draft law to address the abuse of housing and referred to the House of Representatives.
The Board also approved the recommendations of the National Product Promotion Committee formed by the Council of Ministers Resolution No. (405) for the year 2015 in principle.
The draft law on statistics and GIS was voted on, which is an advanced step in the development of statistical work, as a result of the increasing role of data using advanced methods (GIS) ... GPS systems.
The draft law on the ratification of the United Nations Convention on Transparency in Inter-State Treaty Arbitration was voted on.
The council voted to set up a plant to produce edible oil.
The Cabinet discussed the provision of electricity to water stations and issued a number of directives on the subject. He also discussed the situation of electricity in the IDP camps in Nineveh. The necessary measures were taken and the provision of electricity to citizens in all governorates was discussed, in addition to the provision of electricity in the province of Basra. Line 132 to unblock bottlenecks.

Mosul, Iraq — Iraq’s prime minister
on Tuesday congratulated his fighters on “this big victory in Mosul” — even as
fighting with Islamic State militants continued in Mosul’s Old City neighborhood
where Iraqi forces are about 250 meters from the Tigris River and facing
increasingly brutal resistance.
Haider al-Abadi spoke during a news conference in
Baghdad, less than a week after he declared an end to IS’ self-styled caliphate
after Iraqi forces achieved an incremental win by retaking the landmark al-Nuri
Mosque in the Old City.
“Praise be to God, we managed to liberate (Mosul)
and proved the others were wrong, the people of Mosul supported and stood with
our security forces against terrorism,” al-Abadi said.
His remarks came on the third anniversary of IS
leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s sermon at the al-Nuri Mosque, from where he
declared an Islamic caliphate on IS-held lands in Syria and Iraq.
Also during the news conference, al-Abadi added
that he has given instructions to rebuild and stabilize areas of the city
already freed from the militant group.
Lt. Gen. Abdel Ghani al-Asadi, of Iraq’s special
forces, said earlier in the day that Iraqi forces are just 250 meters (yards)
from the Tigris River, in the western half of Mosul. The Tigris divides the city
roughly into its western and eastern half, which was liberated from IS militants
back in January.
IS militants who remain trapped in just a few
hundred meters of territory in the Old City are now in a “fight to the death,”
al-Asadi said, adding that IS fighters are increasingly resorting to suicide
bombings and that he expects the fighting to get even heavier as they are pushed
closer to the river.
Iraqi forces marked a significant victory this
week when the Rapid Response Division retook Mosul’s main hospital complex on
the city’s western side.The building that once held the city’s best medical
facilities now sits devastated by the fight. For weeks, a handful of IS snipers
perched in the main hospital’s top floors held back hundreds of Iraqi
forces.
Iraqi forces launched the operation to retake
Mosul, the country’s second largest city, in October. IS overran Mosul in a
matter of days in 2014. At the height of the extremists’ power, they held nearly
a third of Iraq.
