This brings total U.S. assistance for this population to nearly $300 million since Fiscal Year 2017, implemented by both the State Department and USAID.
The preservation of Iraq’s rich historical pluralism is critical to reintegrating persecuted ethnic and religious minority communities into a peaceful Iraq. U.S. efforts to meet this objective span government agencies and are being implemented urgently, in close partnership with local faith and community leaders. Our efforts focus on the following areas:

Most people would expect that the bear market and the prices would be the number one reason why most hedge funds are closing up shop. While this is certainly a factor, Pomp believes that it has to do more with the fee structures that the funds set-up in 2017. 10-21-2018 Newshound Guru Bloodloch There are reports of recent IQD talk from an Iraqi economist along the lines of "We should equal the US dollar." If true, this is precisely what I've been expecting them to inevitably do. To the penny. Yet, they cannot just suddenly declare 44 trillion issued and outstanding dinars to have an exchange value of 44 trillion dollars now can they? No, of course not, since the idea is not to chase dinars out of the country for subsequent ex-pat exchange abuses, but to draw them into the financial system for the benefit of all Iraqi citizens. And if that's true, that they are not going to suddenly increase the exchange value of their issued dinars to equal the dollar, one might ask, what are they going to do to reestablish a vigorous and valuable sovereign Iraqi currency? Within that answer may lie both the trick and the happy treat.
10-20-2018 Newshound Guru chattels [will they make the 24th deadline?] The 24th is Mahdi's target date. The constitutional "deadline" is November 2/3. Every nominee on the list must be voted upon by Parliament individually.

October 20 - The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), led by the former head of the Kurdistan region of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani, has confirmed that the Kurdish parties have agreed to participate in the government of Prime Minister-designate Adel Abdul-Mahdi. He will not give up Kirkuk, even if it demands death.
A source close to the party Barzani, the party raised the ceiling of his demands, which was initially limited to a number of ministries, indicating that he also called for the formation of institutions to ensure balance in the administration of the Iraqi state, as well as obtain guarantees on the non-exclusion of Kurdish forces, The executive decision as in previous governments.
The source pointed out, according to the "New Arab" that the party is engaged in intensive contacts with other Kurdish forces to persuade them to support his position, expected to be delayed the decision of positions on the Kurds in the government of Abdul Mahdi, even if the Iraqi government partially announced during this week.
The Kurdistan Democratic Party secretary Fadhil Mirani said that the Kurds have conditions that must be met before participating in the government of Abdul Mahdi. He pointed out during a speech at a conference held in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, that Kurdish forces are demanding the post of Deputy Prime Minister , A sovereign ministry, as well as a number of other important ministries.
Mirrani said his party could not abandon the disputed Kirkuk province between Baghdad and Erbil. "We will never leave Kirkuk, either to find a solution or to die for it," he said.
He stressed the need to adopt new standards in the formation of the government of Abdul Mahdi, which guarantees the Kurds the right to participate in the policy making of the Iraqi state, calling for the formation of the Council of the Union of the disabled.
It is noteworthy that the Iraqi constitution provides that the legislative authority consists of two chambers, the Council of Representatives represented by the current parliament, and the Council of the Union, which the powerful Iraqi forces intended to disable since the first Iraqi elections in 2005.
Meanwhile, Kurdish sources confirmed that the opposition parties in the Kurdistan region of Iraq are considering boycotting the new government, because the important positions are limited to the two main Kurdish parties (the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan), explaining to the "new Arab" that the opposition is rattled by leaks that indicate To give the two Kurdish parties a number of ministries in the government of Abdul Mahdi, indicating that the Kurdish opposition parties will call for the granting of ministerial posts to the Kurds of technocrats, otherwise, the boycott is the solution.

Maliki recognizes the fragmentation of the call and comment on the loss of the top position
2018/10/20 15:31
[Ayna-Baghdad]
Secretary-General of the Islamic Dawa Party, Nuri al-Maliki, to "split" his party. Maliki said in a statement: "We live in these days a new phase of the life of Iraq dear; and the most important features at the national level, the labor of the formation of the new Iraqi government, and at the level of advocacy of the birth of the stage of rebuilding your party, the Islamic Dawa Party" The "rebuilding phase" of the call "intellectually, organizationally and politically requires the support of all the preachers; both systematic and disconnected; both in the theoretical and planning dimension; or in the practical and field dimension."
He added: "These efforts can not be crowned with success; only by the real trust in God Almighty, and overcome the psychological burden of the political stage and past advocacy and mistakes, and resulting from the reality within the" advocacy, "especially the course of the parliamentary elections and their results; Sound and natural inter-relations between preachers ".
"It is a sense of faith and human nature, and evidence of the feeling of" preachers "high responsibility for the" call "and its principles The da'is have the right to suffer because of the problems of the past four years, the method of participation of the preachers in the recent elections, the lack of integration of the two lists they are leading, and the absence of a joint negotiating position that serves the objectives of the call.
But what we should emphasize is the importance of balance in this feeling; not excessive and not negligent; because balance is the real premise to move forward to return to the originality of the theory of "advocacy" and principles, and rebuild the intellectual and organizational entity and its political project; Spreading suspicion, and deepening frustration; it is incompatible with the nature of the preacher, his courageous personality, his history burdened with trials and sacrifices, and his continuing ability to mobilize and promote.
"Moreover, the nature of political action and the competition for power and the peaceful rotation of it means that no party can remain in power forever; no matter how strong and size this party is; it is obvious that the outcome of democratic practice That the party is one day at the head of the government, and another participant, and the third in the opposition; and all these sites do not rejoice and do not grieve; only to achieve the satisfaction of God Almighty and adhere to the principles of our blessed call and the service of our people through them, "pointing out" and believes that the way of Islamic action and practice In which there is no loss, tax, punishment or struggle; Tnh all the way, and give way to those who rise to reality again. "
Maliki noted that "do not forget that the magnitude of the trials and tribulations of your party Mujahid; for external reasons, often and internally in 1971, 1972, 1974, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1987 and 1999; until 2014; each could pay The adversaries and competitors to bet on the collapse of the "call" and the end; but what we have previously described the ability of ongoing advocacy to review and advancement; it was sufficient to overcome all those trials and difficulties and crises; The color of adversity, the methods of overcoming it, and the possession of the "call" d Developing capacity to do so. "
"What happened inside the" call "during the current year (2018); is just a fork; does not amount to the extent of suffering to the tribulations that have already been exposed to the party; and if the" preachers "have failed in some political results; And the "preachers" have a long future of toil and I assure you that thanks to God and the wisdom of your brothers we have overcome most of the consequences of the crisis; and besieged many of the imbalances, and prevented us from further erosion and retreat.
"The 2018 crossroads is a crossroads of consideration, reflection and study, to be an input to the reconstruction phase. This also calls for the rejection of all negative situations that prevent substantive review and the discovery of faults, causes and outcomes;
Maliki said: "I put here some ideas in the framework of a number of axes; to review each according to its location and role, and vision and style, and we plan in the framework of the future scientific methodology realistic; and then summon our efforts to be the outcome of the process of rebuilding the project"
1 - Preparation for the next party conference; contents and visions and studies are solid; to be the entrances to the issuance of important and fundamental decisions of the Conference.
2 - Attention to the issue of preachers who are not organized, and the initiative to move them to ensure their return to the organization of the party; most of the energies of organizational, intellectual, information and a large field and field, and must be used in the project to rebuild the party.
3 - re-codification of the theory of "advocacy" and intellectual constants and the fundamentals of culture; in line with the developments of reality and transformations, and the preparation of a plan for future intellectual production.
4 - institutionalize the party and rebuild its organizational structure, in line with the requirements of reality, and the working contexts of the global party institutions developed.
5 - Amend the rules of procedure, in line with the theory of "advocacy", and the transformation of reality, and the law of parties in Iraq.
6. Political, intellectual and media integration with the organizations of other preachers; to find practical formulas for the reunification of preachers in a single framework.
7 - codification of the party's political project and its future movement within the government and parliament, and its relations and alliances, internal and external, and the project absorbed the preparation of provincial elections and the elections of 2022.
8. Formulation of information policies and means of implementation of media policies and means of implementation with a modern methodology and advanced tools.
9. Restructuring the party's organizations and finding practical mechanisms to activate, strengthen and expand them; through openness to the different social strata, such as students, youth, women, clans, professionals, employees and scientific competencies.
