Iraqi Deputy: America will fall into a quagmire no less dangerous than 'Vietnam' to keep its troops in Iraq
Iraq's parliamentarian Mohammed Chihud warned the United States not to fall into a new quagmire that is no less dangerous than Vietnam if it insists on staying in Iraq, warning that Washington is using financial support as a pressure card to sustain its military presence. The United States, if it insists on staying in Iraq, will fall into a dangerous quagmire that is no different from the quagmire of Vietnam or the quagmire that it almost fell into in 2008 before the signing of the strategic framework agreement," MP Mohammed al-Sihud said in a press statement.
He added that "the American military presence will be addressed as it was addressed in 2008 AD."
"The attempts by the American administration to use financial support as a pressure card to establish bases and strengthen its military presence in Iraq," warned Chihod.
Recently, there has been a wave of deep discontent among the Iraqi political, military and cultural circles over the presence of US troops in Iraq and Washington's insistence that the troops should not be withdrawn despite a dashing defeat.
These circles consider that the American forces returned to Iraq after exiting it under the pretext of 'da'ash'. After a humiliating defeat from Iraq, there is no longer any justification for the presence of foreign troops on Iraqi soil and the presence of these forces provokes the Iraqis and deplores their independence and patriotism.

BITCOIN had a price boost yesterday as the cryptocurrency hit its highest price for a week, passing the $9,000 mark, before it saw its value once again slump. 2-11-2018 Newshound Guru Kaperoni Article: "Al-Nasiri: Central Bank aims to build a solid banking sector in 2018" Quote: "In addition to its results and the extent of its commitment to implement the monetary policy directions of the Central Bank and reflect on its actual contribution to GDP and its contribution to sustainable development and its transition from the role of banking to the developmental role." "In addition to its results and the extent of its commitment to implement the monetary policy directions of the Central Bank and reflect on its actual contribution to GDP and its contribution to sustainable development and its transition from the role of banking to the developmental role." This is a very clear statement for those looking for an overnight RV, it ain't happening. This means they are sticking with sound monetary policies that will improve the value of the dinar as the GDP improves. In other words, as investment comes into Iraq, the dinar will rise in value. Which from everything else we have read, appears to be some kind of float.
2-11-2018 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat I am positive there is some plan to do something and use some of this to pay off debt if nothing else in part to use it for the deficit negotiations... Can they balance the deficit? Trump will look like a hero if they can and do it without closing down the govt again. As the US is not doing all this work in Iraq to just fight terrorism. I do not know all the details nor will I pretend to know. We shall all find out after the fact. This is all information that, if you tie it all together, points to the near completion of the project to delete the zeros and eventual revaluation of the Iraqi dinar. This what we are looking for. This is our TARGET! [post 2 of 2]
2-11-2018 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat So the BIG question is this – is there a new plan to stock the US Reserves with Iraqi dinar and use it to pay off the National Debt after its revaluation? Well one thing we do know for sure is the Iraqi dinar will have a very substantial revaluation unlike the initial re-instatement of the Kuwaiti dinar. We know this from knowing about the process to “delete the zeros”. In fact the Kuwaiti dinar never really did revalue, it only rose in rate (not value) due to the float on FOREX and pure speculation. It then came back to reality... [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

Bank Story - Bank of America
The 5th Third Bank story is interesting. Based on the info put out last night by Ray - the portion concerning having an active banking account at the time of your exchange or a bank would be picked out for you at random - I went to Bank of America in OKC today to open an account. I inquired about this account being tied into an account from the Iraqi dinar currency exchange
The representative advised me there would be no problem with this account being opened for that purpose. I also asked if their wealth management dept was located at that branch, or if I needed to go to another location. I was advised that they had their wealth management department at that location.
At that point the representative gave me the name of their manager, and then proceeded to send him an email asking him to personally call me next week to set up an appointment with him. I never asked the representative for the name of their manager, or to even set up an appointment. She couldn't have been nicer to me.
By the time I left, I was excited. I feel we should be seeing something happen this coming week.y

World Bank Investors: There are no opportunities in the world like Iraq
2018/2/11 20:49
[Where - Continue]
The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank, urged global companies on Sunday to overcome their concerns about funding reconstruction projects in Iraq and capitalize on high-yielding investment opportunities there.
"I do not think that anywhere in the world there is such a thing," said Ziad Badr, head of the International Finance Corporation's mission in Iraq, in a speech at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry ahead of the Iraq reconstruction conference on Monday as the country emerged from a devastating three-year war. Opportunities of investment, "and hit the example of a Lebanese company to achieve a return of 24 percent of its share in a luxury hotel in Erbil, Kurdistan region.
He added that IFC had investments of about $ 1.2 billion in various projects in Iraq, including banks, cement factories and telecommunications companies, and was preparing to announce an investment of $ 250 million in a telecommunications project.
Last week, the Iraqi National Investment Commission published a list of 157 projects that will seek to attract investment to the International Conference on Iraq Reconstruction from February 12-14, and the total cost of these projects is estimated at $ 100 billion.
The projects include reconstruction of destroyed facilities such as Mosul airport and new investments to boost and diversify the economy away from dependence on oil sales, through the development of transport, agriculture and industries based on the country's energy wealth, including petrochemicals and oil refineries.
The rebuilding of homes, hospitals, schools, roads, work and communications is an important process for providing employment for young people, ending the displacement of hundreds of thousands of citizens and closing the curtain on several decades of political and sectarian violence.
Sami al-Araji, head of the National Investment Authority, told a gathering at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce that about 1900 people were registered to attend the conference, representing foreign governments, private companies and international organizations.
"We are at a crossroads, the world is sympathetic with us, we have to take advantage of this opportunity, this opportunity is irreplaceable."
He added that Baghdad is determined to eliminate "routine and corruption and other investment in some cases," in response to complaints from Kuwaiti companies on the difficulties hindering the practice of business in Iraq.
A communications equipment supplier told the conference that he had waited six months for $ 5 million for work that had been completed for the Iraqi government.
Iraq ranks 10th among the most corrupt countries in the world, according to Transparency International.
Iraq declared its victory over a supporter in December, after reclaiming all territory captured by terrorists in 2014 and 2015.
A US-led coalition supported Iraqi forces, especially in the battle to expel them from Mosul in July.
Iraq re-opened its doors to foreign investment in 2003, but the vast majority of the billions of dollars invested were directed to increase the country's oil and natural gas production.
Iraq, the second largest oil exporter in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) after Saudi Arabia, has a daily production of 4.4 million barrels.

"Why was this date chosen from February 13-14 to hold the conference, which coincides with the celebrations of the Kuwaitis in the so-called [Hala February], the date of the attack on Iraq led by the United States of America and dozens of countries, including Arab countries, and why Kuwait was selected exclusively to hold The conference, noting that the attack destroyed Iraqi infrastructure and cause harm to the Iraqi people, who paid for the policies of the former regime, which was not affected by the attack.
"If we do not see any positive outcome regarding the reconstruction of Iraq during the period following the conference, we will put question marks on the usefulness of the meeting basically."
