Iraq is preparing for a military operation to secure the transfer of oil to Iran
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi forces are preparing to launch an operation to strengthen control of a region close to the border with Iran so that it can be used to transport Iraqi oil to Iran under an agreement, officials said.
The officials told Reuters on Monday that the security of the Hamrin mountain range could start this week. The area lies between the oil fields of Kirkuk and Khanaqin on the border with Iran.

Iraqi oil officials announced in December plans to transport crude from Kirkuk by truck to Iran's Kermanshah refinery. Trucking was supposed to start last week. Oil officials declined to comment on technical reasons.
"Six members of the tribal crowd, a pro-government force, were killed yesterday in an attack on a security checkpoint where they were located south of the Hamrin mountain range on the road to be used to transport oil," security sources said.
The two officials did not elaborate on possible threats to the Hamrin mountain range, but two insurgent groups are known to be active there, one of which is the remnants of a terrorist-supporting organization and the other, a newly-formed "white banner" that is largely unknown.
The agreement to transport crude oil by truck was part of an oil exchange deal announced by the two countries in December to allow the resumption of oil exports from Kirkuk. Iraq and Iran agreed to exchange up to 60,000 barrels per day of crude produced in Kirkuk with Iranian oil to be transported to southern Iraq.

(International: Euphrates News) Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif, the respect of his country to the will of the Iraqi people.
"We are not oblivious to this attitude towards the policy that Saudi Arabia has been exerting for years to gain influence, but it has not been a successful policy," Zarif said in an interview with Iran's Channel 2 television on Monday evening about the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections and Saudi activities in this area. It is the Iraqi people who decide their own destiny. "
"We have a good presence in Iraq but it is built on the basis of respect for the Iraqi people, which has made us influential," he said.
Zarif said he would take part in a conference to be held in Kuwait on the reconstruction of Iraq next week and hoped that the Iranian private sector would participate seriously.
"We have good opportunities in Iraq and Syria and we have a very good presence in Iraq, where our technical and engineering companies have been operating for years.
"The problem with our neighbors in Saudi Arabia is that they entered the region under false pretenses and are concerned that their activities do not produce results for them, but it is known that they have planted a bad seed and are counting on it," he said.
"When you try to hold a prime minister in your country to exert pressure through this path, the result will be clear. When you try to support terrorism and terrorist groups in a country to have influence and influence in that country, or you spend a lot of money to destabilize, Security in that country, it is known that this matter is not back to the security of that country and you have no influence "
"The Saudis have been practicing these methods for years and see their results, but unfortunately they have some weakness in assimilation," he said

The International Alliance announces a change in its operations against Dahesh Iraq
The US-led International Alliance against the terrorist organization "Da'ash" on Monday announced a change in its operations in Iraq amid reports of the withdrawal of US troops from there.
The coalition said in a statement quoted by The Hill newspaper that after the rapid successes that followed the liberation of Mosul, the coalition will shift its focus in Iraq from enabling combat operations to maintaining military gains against Dahesh.

The coalition statement came in response to a statement by the Iraqi government, earlier in the day, that US troops withdrew from the country after a defeat, and an Iraqi army official said a basic agreement between Baghdad and Washington, the withdrawal of 60% of US forces in Iraq.

The Alliance statement said that there would be a change in the "composition of the force," but pledged to keep "an appropriate number" of US forces in Iraq, adding that his continued presence will depend on the situation commensurate with the need and in coordination with the Iraqi government.

Jonathan Braga, director of operations of the International Alliance against Da'ash, said they were aware that the "enemy" was still capable of launching attacks, planning and inspiring attacks around the world.

He added that however, the formation of US forces may change over time to ensure the presence of the best forces to perform the task, noting that they will work to maintain the appropriate amount of capacities, as well as the presence of advisers to continue to train and advise and equip Iraqi forces against Daash, all with the approval of the Iraqi government

Iraq exempts 170 Jordanian products from customs

06-02-2018 12:35 AM
Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Eng. Yarub al-Qudah said that the Iraqi authorities recently approved the exemption of a new list of 170 Jordanian products from the customs duties imposed by 30% by the end of 2016. This brings the total of the goods that have been exempted to the moment to 541 out of 750 Jordan handed over to Iraq. "

The judges said that the ministry is in constant contact with the Iraqi authorities to activate the decision to exempt Jordanian products from fees, stressing that Jordan views Iraq not as a market but as a strategic partner in all fields.

According to the judges, the exemption of the new list of customs duties comes after the Iraqi side asked to verify the existence of factories produced in the Kingdom before studying exemption from customs duties. The Iraqi side, after a series of meetings with the Jordanian side, stipulated three conditions for exempting Jordanian goods from customs duties, namely, determining the production capacity of the Jordanian factories, the commitment to the agricultural calendar in Iraq and not including the goods issued by the Iraqi Council of Ministers.

Although Iraqi authorities have exempted Jordanian products from customs duties at the end of last year, Iraqi customs still charge a fee for these products, industry sources said.

"The Iraqi authorities are still paying customs duties on Jordanian products despite a decision to exempt them," said Iyad Abu Haltam, head of the East Amman Industrial Society.

Abu Haltam, who is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Amman Chamber of Industry, called on the government to urgently communicate with the Iraqi authorities to discuss this issue and activate the decision to exempt Jordanian products as soon as possible.

He pointed out that there is a state of anticipation by the industrialists wishing to export to Iraq until the activation of the decision to exempt Jordanian products from customs duties and start exporting. He pointed out that reviving the commercial relationship between the two countries requires allowing Iraqi trucks to enter and unload from the factory land.

Abu Haltam explained that the process of transporting goods to Iraq through the exchange area is more expensive compared to trans-sea transport, except that it sometimes damages the goods.

He pointed out that there is a state of stagnation in the domestic market because of high taxes, which caused a shortage of liquidity, stressing that the export to Iraq significantly helps to increase liquidity and move the wheel of the national economy.

The Director-General of the Amman Chamber of Industry, Dr. Nael Al-Husami, called on the government to address the concerned parties on the Iraqi side to expedite the implementation of the decision of the Iraqi Council of Ministers with the exception of the Jordanian products of customs duties imposed by the Iraqi government on all imports, Last year, which he hopes will contribute to the re-export of Jordan to the Iraqi market as it was before, which has seen a significant decline in recent years.

Al-Husami called for cooperation between the Jordanian and Iraqi sides to facilitate the flow of Jordanian exports into the Iraqi market so that Jordanian industrial companies can maintain their production capacity, especially in light of the repercussions of the Syrian crisis. For Jordanian trucks to enter the territory of Iraq to deliver Jordanian products to its importers there, especially as the Jordanian goods are still very popular in the Iraqi market, and this is reflected in the large turnout witnessed by the Jordanian wing at the Baghdad International Fair, which was held During the month of November.

The Chamber is studying the organization of a Jordanian industrial exhibition in Baghdad this year under the name "Made in Jordan", to consolidate the presence of Jordanian industries in the Iraqi market.

During the first 11 months of last year, the value of national exports rose 5.6 percent to 316.7 million dinars instead of 299.8 million dinars compared to the same period in 2016.

The Iraqi government decided to reduce the tariff rates imposed on imports of goods as of the beginning of this year, with a minimum fee of 0.5% and a maximum of 30%.

Jordan approves oil pipeline agreement with Iraq
2018/2/6 11:16
[Where - Continue]
The Jordanian government approved an economic agreement in response to a decision by Iraq.
The Jordanian cabinet, chaired by acting Prime Minister Mamdouh al-Abadi, decided to approve a framework agreement to be signed between Jordan's ministries of energy and mineral wealth and Iraqi oil on the export pipeline project between Iraq and Jordan.
The project aims to build a pipeline for the export of Iraqi oil through Jordan to the port of Aqaba and supply Jordan with part of its oil needs.
The pipeline project between the two countries is a strategic project that serves the interests of the two countries. It provides a new export outlet for Iraqi oil and works to strengthen the energy strategy in Jordan.
On April 9, 2013, Iraq and Jordan signed a framework agreement for the laying of a pipeline to transport Iraqi crude oil from Basra to export ports in the port of Aqaba on the Red Sea coast and reach Egypt at a cost of about $ 18 billion, in addition to the agreement to build a large gas pipeline parallel to the oil pipeline .
The oil and energy ministries in Iraq and Jordan signed on November 15, 2015 a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of oil and natural gas.
On April 2, 2017, the Iraqi government approved the construction of the Basra-Aqaba-Jordan oil pipeline project at a cost of about $ 5.6 billion.
The final cost of the Iraqi-Jordanian oil pipeline project is estimated at $ 5.6 billion, and the investor will bear the cost of extending the pipeline, where the investor will recover its costs by paying the Iraqi government.
The completion of the pipeline project between the two countries is 25 years. It is planned to export one million barrels per day of Iraqi crude to Jordan, including 150 thousand barrels to operate the refinery Zarqa.
The pipeline will extend to the port of Aqaba, the distance to the oil heading west towards Europe and North Africa, and will avoid traffic from the Gulf Sea and the Strait of Hormuz, to the Arabian Sea and then the Straits of Bab al-Mandab and the Red Sea to the Suez Canal.

Security experts reveal why al-Baghdadi is not mentioned in the wanted list

Date of release: 2018/2/6 10:34
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The failure to name a guerrilla leader called the terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on the list of wanted lists announced by the government shows he was killed, security experts said.
"The terrorist (al-Baghdadi) is likely to have been killed in a raid by the Iraqi air force in the desert near the Syrian border, where anonymity on the lists of the most wanted of the Iraqi government confirms his death," the experts told AFP.
"Baghdadi did not show him any audio recordings for several months, and there is information indicating that the position of the alleged caliphate of terrorist gangs is vacant and this is evidence of his death."
Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced the liberation of Iraq from the gangs of terrorist gangs on Dec. 9 last year.
The Iraqi authorities for the first time, the first Sunday, the names of 60 people of the most wanted for belonging to the organization and urged Al Qaeda and the Baath Party dissolved, which was headed by Saddam and the list was free from the name of al-Baghdadi.
