Parliamentary support for the Prime Minister's economic and reform steps

Members of the House of Representatives confirmed their support for the reform steps of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, by seeking to establish an investment fund for future generations, stating that "the Prime Minister's reform steps are moving in the right direction, the most important of which is the transfer of oil revenues to development projects."

Member of the Parliamentary Economy and Investment Committee Nada Shaker Jawdat said: "Iraq needs to activate non-oil imports and rely on them in proportions commensurate with the size of its investment budget."

Noting that "the idea of establishing an investment fund for future generations will boost citizens' confidence in the state and send a message of reassurance to future generations and achieving social justice, and it is possible to work on this project, because Iraq has a lot of imports in various fields and it can do a lot to invest it."
She stressed, "There is a wide horizon for investment in Iraq in the fields of agriculture, industry and reliance on tourism of all kinds, archeological and religious, and their exploitation will provide full coverage of employee salaries and social welfare in addition to supporting the unemployed until they find job opportunities for them."

Jawdat explained that "relying on the oil sector only is not correct, and oil revenues must be transferred to strategic development projects that support the state’s goals in building and building and providing services to citizens, in addition to reviving their social status by increasing salaries for social welfare and providing salaries for the unemployed, As well as providing adequate housing for citizens of the poor segments with small symbolic amounts through the path of investment. "

For his part, Deputy Nofal Al-Nasheed indicated that "the reform steps that the Prime Minister declares are good, and it is important to move the economic situation to a safe situation," noting that "the House of Representatives supports all the reforms that the Prime Minister is working on."

He added that "among the reforms that the prime minister must proceed with is to support the investment law in new, simplified and attractive formats for investors from facilities to speed in implementation." He pointed out that "investment is the best solution to avoid the financial crisis, in addition to supporting the Iraqi product and activating work in The private and public sectors and involve them in a step that can achieve self-sufficiency in industry and agriculture. "

And the youth pointed out that "the prime minister's insistence on making reforms is important and sends an important message that the country is developing, so everyone should support the prime minister's reform steps, especially in supporting the Iraqi economy."

He pointed out that "one of the most important reform measures is to activate the work with non-oil resources, including border crossings, and strategic planning to establish large factories through investment to employ manpower and eliminate unemployment in the agricultural and industrial sector, and it is one of the most important sectors that can generate resources for the treasury."

Oil prices are in contrast with the decline in US fuel stocks and an increase in crude stocks
Oil futures varied, on Wednesday, due to fears of oversupply in the market, fueled by an increase in US crude stocks, offset by a decline in gasoline stocks, which boosted hopes for a recovery in fuel demand in light of the reopening of the global economy.

Brent crude rose 12 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $ 42.75 a barrel by 0643 GMT, after falling to $ 42.30 earlier in the session.
US West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell one cent to $ 40.34 a barrel, trimming some of the losses it had incurred earlier.
And US crude inventories increased significantly more than expected at 1.7 million barrels last week, according to the American Petroleum Institute, which is much more than analysts' expectations for an increase of 300 thousand barrels.
But data showed gasoline stocks and distillate inventories declined in the United States, fueling optimism that fuel consumption was increasing as some economies eased the public isolation imposed to contain the Corona pandemic.
Yesterday, Brent and West Texas Intermediate contracts traded at their highest levels since the price crash in early March.
Global oil consumption began to recover as economies emerged from public isolation, while OPEC + and allies, in the context of OPEC +, cut production and shuttered US shale oil producers.
But Kazuhiko Saito, chief analyst at Fujitumi, said the market was still concerned by the increasing number of HIV infections in the United States and other regions of the world.
According to a Reuters analysis, the number of new infections rose 25 percent in the United States in the week ending June 21, and the number of deaths in Latin America exceeded 100,000 deaths on Tuesday.

20 Billion dollars, the weight of the 2021 budget .. Committee: There is no truth to pay salaries every 45 days

The Finance Committee in the House of Representatives announced on Wednesday that the weight of the budget of 2021, followed by about 20 billion dinars, negated the rumors of distributing salaries every 45 days.
"The committee refuses to borrow to secure salaries only, as it is an operational matter, which means that the weight of the next year's budget in 2021 and the budget that follows is about 20 billion dollars without any financial return," said committee member Jamal Cougar.
Cougar added, "There is an equation between loans and reform, that is, the more loans increase, the more the government will move away from real reform, meaning that if the government does not find money, it will have to reform, but if the money is there, no reforms will take place."
The committee member pointed out that his committee "allowed the government to borrow to secure these two months only in order to reap the fruits of its reforms that must begin from now," noting that "

Deputy: We will not allow the payment of one dinar to the region until after the delivery of oil and ports to the center
The deputy of the State of Law coalition, Mansour Al-Baiji, confirmed that the people's representatives will not allow the payment of one dinar to the region until after the delivery of oil and ports to the center. Al-Baiji said in a statement that "all the Kurdish delegations that come to Baghdad deal with the federal government as a counterpart to it or as another country negotiating with a neighboring country for it as if they are not affiliated with Iraq or the federal government," noting that they are "cooperating with the central government and even the laws that legislate in the federal parliament do not recognize With it and do not implement it in the region. " Al-Baiji added, “We cannot accept the delivery of Basra oil and port imports to other governorates to the Kurdistan Regional Government and the latter refuses to comply with the federal government,” noting that “for a choice before the provincial government other than to deliver oil, ports, airports, and adhere to the constitution and law so that the federal government can deal with the region like In other provinces. 6-24-2020   Intel Guru Frank26 ...my broker called me around 3:00 in the afternoon yesterday to say to me, 'Frank, we're putting a freeze on the selling of the Vietnamese dong.'  And I said, really?  We already have a freeze on the Iraqi dinar...the liquidity of this currency was accomplished as a benchmark in order for them to come out with the Real Effective Exchange Rate of the Iraqi dinar...the Iraqi dinar...exchange rate for it is .000869741 somewhere in that ball park...so when you take that decimal point and move it over to the right 3 places...rounds out to about .86 cents and the goal is to get it to 1 dollar... [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

The WOW news of the week is the CBI has finally spoken up. They issued a “white paper” again on the financial sector of Iraq. It is all very good as they talk about going international and completing the “project to delete the zeros” in the “coming period”. So again, we just have to sit tight and wait it out. Please, please, please don’t sell you dinar. You are already RICH only you have to wait a bit to go to the bank. We are slowly progressing to the end of this ride and it will not be much longer. How much longer? We are now seeing many of the reforms we could only pray for these last couple years. Yes, they are actually doing them. All I can tell everyone NOW is it will be much sooner than later and certainly not January 2021.
6-23-2020   Newshound Guru Pimpy  ...the reason why they denied me entry into this conference [Iraq Finance Expo] is because I speak about the dinar.  That's how I knew for sure they were gonna talk about it.  They didn't want me in there recording anything because they knew they were gonna talk about the dinar.  They didn't specifically give out any kind of rate change but they didn't talk about what needs to be done.  And it's already being done.  I feel absolutely good about the year 2020...

6-23-2020   Newshound Guru Jeff
Article "Al-Kadhimi reveals the details of the 'white paper"  This is very important.  The White paper is the roadmap for the rate change.  For the economic reform.  And the brand new economy they're preparing to launch...

6-23-2020   Intel Guru Bob Locke   [via PDK]   [...How close do you think we are?]   I have never seen the kind of talk and the amount of talk indicating that today is the day thus far through all my years and years of this. . .I am hopeful today that we see some stuff happen.

6-23-2020   Newshound Guru Pimpy   ...there's been a lot of chitter-chatter about the IFEX conference...It was Allak who spoke about the dinar during the conference.  This is what Allak said. The dinar must first be stable in the country before it can be international.  But he also said... Iraq was open for business and that he encouraged outside investors to come in...We also know...if they're gonna come in and do business a couple of things must happen.  One is Iraq has to have an internationally recognized currency.   There is no "ifs" "ands" or "but's" about it.  Not only that you have to change the rate in order for outside investors to come in or it's too expensive.  Sure the labor is cheap in country but importing good from other countries that they will need to get their businesses going it's just too costly.  So rate change is gonna have to happen...

6-23-2020   Intel Guru Footforward    I have a pretty good idea on what the rate will be. It's just the date...That I'm working on. I've said for a long time it will be over 3.50 in my opinion. I can't get more specific then that...

6-23-2020   Intel Guru MarkZ   [via PDK]   [This was supposed to be our morning…very disappointing. I heard it wasn’t supposed to start until this afternoon…so I am not disappointed yet. Watching this afternoon about 4 or 5.  Banking contacts have been very frustrated but they believe today is the day…specifically this afternoonThey are confident we are in the last 1-to 3 days of all of this.  Iraq contacts are also thinking today is the day and they will be able to publish a figure in the Gazette tomorrow. They are very confident that they will be going by the first and will have an International, Worldwide, Competitive Currency.   We will be watching this evening closely.

6-23-2020   Newshound Guru Jeff   ...as Allak's  [Governor of the CBI]  proxy term is ending on or around July 15th Iraq is transitioning...to a new economic system but the rate change has to happen right in the middle - between the two.  They're putting out a ton of articles telling you they're planning to do this.  You are very close to the edge of this right now...

6-23-2020   Newshound/‌Intel Guru Walkingstick   [via Frank26] ...these white papers are the end result of when they have pulled the trigger of the monetary reform...the white papers have the rate and the date... [Reference Frank26  6-23-2020]

6-23-2020   Intel Guru Frank26  ...the CBI has introduced something that was in those meeting two months ago...it's called "white paper".  It's a report.  It's a guide.  It's a definition of an agreement...White paper is extremely important.  It's an authoritative report.  It comes from the authorities of the Fab 4.  It's important for the structure of Iraq and it's important for the international structure of Iraq.  This white paper is extremely crucial...it's been introduced from the CBI to the GOI.  What's it for Mainly it's for the budget.  What's in the budget?  The economic reform.  I told you they need the financial reform first in order to have the economic reform...these white papers are the passport for the new Iraqi dinar...

Allawi: The economic crisis we face is worse than 2006

6/23/203 14:01
[Baghdad_ Wayne]

Finance Minister Ali Allawi, on Tuesday, warned that the Iraqi economy may face "shocks that we will not be able to deal with" unless reform measures are adopted in less than a year.

Allawi said in an interview with Agence France-Presse, if we do not adjust matters during this year, we may face shocks that we will not be able to deal with.

Allawi, who was also finance minister during the transitional government’s period between 2005 and 2006, indicated that the situation today is “worse” because Baghdad faces an “existential economic situation”.

At that point, the price of a barrel of oil was approximately $ 35, but the number of state employees was less than a million.

Today there are more than four million employees, and many other Iraqis who are paid salaries and pensions. This means a monthly sum of between four and five billion dollars.

With one out of every five Iraqis receiving government aid, the bill becomes heavier for the country that depends on paying all its expenditures on oil whose prices collapsed months ago with a severe shortage of demand for it.

According to Allawi, the government must pay the salaries of June and July, on time, by borrowing from government banks.

Allawi warned that these measures are possible for a short period, otherwise "it will affect the price structure, and consequently on inflation, which will in turn affect the exchange rate and the reserve in the central bank."
