Significant obstacles to the recovery of manufacturing industries in Iraq
The manufacturing industries in
Iraq suffer from great neglect, whether in government, private or even mixed
sectors, which led the specialists to demand that the government attach
importance to the vital sector and make it among the important sectors that can
generate large financial imports to the country.
"The manufacturing industries in
Iraq are almost negligently active in the government sector, while the private
sector suffers from a stoppage of more than 70 percent," the industrial expert
and former head of the Iraqi Federation of Industries, Hashim al-Atrakji, told
the Journal News on Thursday.
He added that "there are many
obstacles prevented the return of manufacturing industries in Iraq, as in the
past, including the security situation, which cast a shadow over the entire
joints of life in Iraq, in addition to the financial crisis suffocating the
country and accompanied by austerity in the disbursement of funds allocated to
projects.
He stressed that "the security
situation in some Iraqi provinces has made it difficult to obtain raw materials
entering the manufacturing industry, including the desert of Anbar, which is
currently controlled by terrorist organizations, where in the past the sand is
invested in the extraction of glass.
He called for the support of the
Iraqi private sector, which has suffered neglect for more than twenty years, as
90 percent of Iraqi industries have stopped working and production since 1986 at
a time when Iraq depends on domestic industrial production by more than 85
percent.
One of the main obstacles facing
these industries in the Arab world is the absence of incentives, weak
institutional environment, disruption of the role of the private sector, low
efficiency of university education, vocational education,

in Baghdad or any other region of the country must first be approved by the
Iraqi government and kept away from sectarian statements that do not serve the
country and do not include any personality required for the Iraqi judiciary,"
al-Aalak told the Journal News. Stressing that "national reconciliation will do
more after the liberation of the city of Mosul from the control of a
supporter."
He added that "the figures
required for the Iraqi judiciary is not allowed to attend and participate in
conferences held in Baghdad, so that speaks on behalf of national reconciliation

RV/GCR? ANOTHER MONTH OF PROMISES HAS PASSED US BY YET WE REMAIN
STEADFAST IN OUR BELIEF WE WILL FINALLY SEE THIS END. PERHAPS THE NEXT FEW
DAYS WILL PROVIDE THE RESULT WE HAVE BEEN HOPING TO SEE FOR YEARS. THE
INFO IS GOOD BUT WE HAVE BEEN THERE BEFORE.
6-1-2017 Newshound Guru Phillyman Alot of articles hit starting
yesterday about IS getting ready for the final stand in the Old City the place
of that leaning minaret, the Great Mosque of al-Nuri. They are
coming up on the 3 yr anniversary of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi declaring the
caliphate there. We are witnessing what will go down as a
celebrated and historic event in Iraqs history. We know they are
short on holidays and could certainly use another one. Does it mean
the end of IS in Iraq? Clearly it does not but it seems that the
Iraqis are seeing it as a turning point. Praying its over
soon.
6-1-2017 Newshound Guru Kaperoni [...is it better for Iraq to rebuild itself at the present rate or at a re- established rate?] ...at this point and time, it does not matter what the exchange rate is regarding rebuilding...since the primary source of revenue is oil sales (95%) which is paid in dollars. And since the dinar is not globally convertible, Iraq pays for goods in dollars. So in that sense they are on the same playing field we are on in the US when we pay for goods. The real benefit comes when the CBI can begin to raise the value to offset inflationary pressure created by investors and investment along with meeting IMF Article VIII compliance. The result will eventually give the citizens a better life, greater purchasing power and most importantly the ability for the CBI to keep its dollars and pay in dinars.

6-1-2017 Newshound Guru mike Article: "The Iraqi delegation begins its negotiations today with the International Monetary Fund" The IMF has always been focused on maintaining the peg while Iraq navigates the way towards an open market economy with legislative support to bolster it. ...the last paragraph tells us that Iraq is receiving $3 billion dollars from Cash Box International and the only ones giving Iraq $3 billion is the IMF, so that's who Cash Box Int'l is. And, the IMF has told Iraq repeatedly at the IMF Article IV consultations that Iraq will maintain the peg and not float. There is no real economy outside of oil and the IMF have told Iraq that if they moved to a float the value would drop and negatively effect the common citizens of Iraq with a currency that has less purchasing power than it does on the peg. The decision to ban wearing the niqab comes into force in Mosul
Nineveh - June 1 - The
implementation of the Iraqi forces' decision to ban wearing women's niqab in
public places in the liberated areas of Mosul began
today.
This is the first decision of
its kind in Iraq, and has been applied under the pretext of seeking to ensure
security and counter suicide attacks.
Police in Nineveh province
said that thanks to the ban, suicide bombers in disguise would not be able to
reach public places.
"The security forces have
already started to implement the decision and they have prevented women from
leaving their homes," said a Mosul police officer.
He pointed out that "Tribal
and religious parties tried to intervene to prevent the decision, because it
touches the community Mosuli, but the leadership informed them that the decision
issued by the higher authorities can not be
tolerated."
The implementation of the
decision has caused great anger among the residents, especially in the villages
of Mosul, whose women usually wore the niqab even before the Da'ash organization
entered Mosul, considering that this decision is similar to the decisions of the
organization to intervene in the freedom of the
people.
On the other hand, Iraqi forces imposed
restrictions on the use of motorcycles, which are usually used by militants to
launch attacks in liberated areas. Finished

Last week, the coalition launched 21 air strikes in support of Iraqi efforts in the city of Mosul and destroyed many of Da'ish's property, including 120 cars.
Dillon said Iraqi forces had set up safe corridors to drive civilians out of the city after "being forced and forced to enter the buildings, trapped in their use of evil-supporting tactics."
Meanwhile, in Syria, opposition forces regained control of about 350 square kilometers last week and are located three kilometers from the city of Raqqa from the north and east.
The spokesman confirmed that the coalition launched this week 59 air strikes to support the isolation of Raqqa.
