Word on the Street Thursday 6/1/17

TNT Update June 1st, 2017
- PM Abadi accepts the resignation of the Finance Minister. (Some might see this as a delay, but it was "supposedly" agreed that he would not resign before all of the calculations and numbers for revaluation were agreed and established.)
- Iraqi TV is showing that the Command Center map is not showing any gains but reportedly only 2% is remaining. The news focus has changed to the resigning Finance Minister.
- Iraqi TV reports ISIS preparing for its' last battle at the mosque. And indicating that the reconciliation announcement will happen after the conclusion of Ramadan. (Remember, you can't believe 100% of the news, its flawed to a certain degree.) #wearethepeople.
Now that the sun has gone down over there, let's see what happens next!!!!! 😊

Word on the Street Thursday 6/1/17:
TNT CONFERENCE CALL WEDNESDAY 5/31/17 DC NY CALL RECAP:
Good afternoon TNT Superfantastic Family. Today is Wednesday Hump Day. We will review what has happened . Recapping the info out there and updates over the weekend, Full scale assault of villages and public based on full scale in Mosul and was expected. Citizens are being told 72 hours to reach Mosul. CBI governor on TV and it will be soon. The final battle should be over Wednesday. One area was left and captured other bridges and hospitals. Monday's info Abadi was in Mosul in person which could be very risky to do. Anyway there was talks on TV celebrating projecting completion on June 10. IMF meeting with CBI today. Citizens were urged to evacuate areas and full liberation expected in one week. We are starting to hear from bankers and the RV happening in a week. Info this morning we sent out Iraq TV reporting complete liberation of Mosul coming soon. However, there was nothing about complete 100% liberation. In addition, we received banking information, and some having some new disclosure material for foreign currency exchange and supposed to be released to the public. Looking for new info on foreign currency exchange procedures which is good. Q and A: Q What does June 10th mean to you? Ray: The anniversary date that ISIS took over 3 years ago, and this would be an anniversary of Iraq being liberated. Q: Heard No RV to second quarter of 2017. Ray: That is speculation, and our best sources are saying this is done done done. It could be released in the next few days. Just be ready Q: Did the VND depeg from the dollar? Ray: I did not hear that. Q: What are we hearing about the RV? Ray: Other countries RVing their currencies is the GCR. I am speaking regarding Iraq. When Iraq goes, everyone will follow behind. Callers865 Catnip: As far as what June 10th means to me and the RV happening today would mean TNT Superfantastic project. With respect to the big gains being made in the old city of Mosul, is there any indication how close they got to the Al Nouri mosque? Ray: I have not received any information pertaining to that. The other question is when was the last time you ever heard from your Iraqi sources? Ray: Different times and mainly the night time.Catnip: They don't mind bothering you if it is 1,2,3 am in the morning? Ray: Right and I have some folks and that is what they live for. Catnip: We are at the end of the month and still have a couple of hours and hoping they might be calling you with more inforrmation. So we still have a chance you might be hearing from them? Ray: Oh sure, since the news we are getting is late and not to the public minute. Catnip: So lets hope they take that hint and do something about it. Caller: You were talking about it coming soon? What does that mean? Ray: For the longest time, we heard the coming days, and how many days did it mean? What does very soon mean in their terminology? We went from 93 to 98% liberation in Mosul and will take 9 more days. I don't think so. Caller: 910: First time caller, I was told that deleting the zero would take some time and a slow process? Ray: I don't know what info you were listening to. Ray Wrap Up: This is a nice short session. Our best Iraq sources say it is done, and it is on the news. It is lagging behind and the news is old. All we can do is just be ready and know what you are going to do. A lot of scuttlebutt about 800 numbers, and I have not heard anything yet personally. Generally if I don't bring something to you on this call, more than likely I don't have it to bring, confirm or deny. If you get other info get substance, and then you will know if it is true of not. Info with no substance is worthless to me. I tell you where I get my info from Iraq, and others and they share what they hear. We piece it all together, and it doesn't always mean it is true to form. Our people tell us the best they can at the moment in time. Knowing change is prevalent in this process, substance allows you accept the information. I tried to give you as much substance as possible. That is the best I can do with info. Now, while we await 800 numbers, if and when they show up that will be a great plus. I personally feel like we have something more important. That is 49 banks that trade Iraq dinar today. The best thing you can do is have your currency verified on site, so we put together a data base of banks that verify on site. We are letting the banking community know, we will go to the banks that will do business with us. Thank you to all that sent in bank info to me. We are just waiting and most of you should be ready at this point. First people going in looking maybe for the contract rate. So we wait for more into and it is the end of the month. All were focused on it being done by the end of the month. I can't see it dragging many more days justifiably. When economic reforms have been completed, we should see the values change on the currency. All that remains to be seen and wait for is the realities to surface. If Iraq revalues and the CBI updates, then it surfaced. Then we will be ready for it. Stick to your plan, and if something happens I will let you know. Enjoy today and if anything pops in, I will inform you and reconvene. I am excited! What about you? Rayren 98

The Iraqi government has postponed a decision to renew the contract with an Italian engineering company managed by the Engineers Corps, when the old contract ends this year. The government may try to implement the reforms required to plug itself; to save expenditures at a time when it feels pressured by the cost of a war against a terrorist organization.

"The Iraqi government is very optimistic about the level of reforms needed for the dam, and therefore will not renew the contract," said US Army Corps of Engineers chief Todd Todd Simonnet, adding that time was running out while the government was considering the decision. Pointing out that he expected to take another two months, and in the end we can also get a decision or not.

"The danger posed by the dam is still very high," said one of the officials responsible for the security of the dam in the Engineers' Corps.

The Chihod called on the Iraqi government to deal with the legitimate representative of the Kurdish people and intersect with Barzani.

Hashemi: "Hackers" internal may be behind the breakthrough site "national security"

The researcher revealed "armed groups" Hisham al-Hashemi, on Thursday, the reasons for penetrating the site of the "national security" of Iraq, and called on the government to investigate the matter and fortify its security.
Al-Hashemi said in a statement to the Journal News that this dangerous penetration is due to "the weakness of immunization, which is placed by the national security on the site, in addition to the mechanism of access to the site may be from local Internet networks and not as private as in the National Intelligence Service," adding: In addition, the mechanism of penetrating the site indicates that hackers is close to the employees of the website or has sent them links on their devices, which facilitated the entry process.

Reuters Vietnam to sign deals for up to $17 billion in U.S. goods, services: prime minister

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trade-vietnam-idUSKBN18R02N

(Reuters) - Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said on Tuesday he would sign deals for U.S. goods and services worth $15 billion to $17 billion during his visit to Washington, D.C., mainly for high technology products and for services.
"Vietnam will increase the import of high technologies and services from the United States, and on the occasion of this visit, many important deals will be made," Phuc told a U.S. Chamber of Commerce dinner.
Phuc, who is due to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday at the end of a three-day visit to the United States, did not provide any further details of the transactions.
GE Power Chief Executive Officer Steve Bolze told the dinner that General Electric Co (GE.N) will sign new business worth about $6 billion with Vietnam, but also offered no details.
Phuc's comments came after U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer expressed concern about the rapid growth of the U.S. trade deficit with Vietnam, saying this was a new challenge for the two countries and he was looking to Phuc to help address it.
"Over the last decade, our bilateral trade deficit has risen from about $7 billion to nearly $32 billion," Lighthizer said. "This concerning growth in our trade deficit presents new challenges and shows us that there is considerable potential to improve further our important trade relationship."
Lighthizer and other Trump administration trade officials have pledged to work to reduce U.S. bilateral trade deficits with major trading partners. The $32 billion deficit with Vietnam last year -- the sixth largest U.S. trade deficit -- reflects growing imports of Vietnamese semiconductors and other electronics products in addition to more traditional sectors such as footwear, apparel and furniture.
The trade issue has become a potential irritant in a relationship where Washington and Hanoi have stepped up security cooperation in recent years given shared concerns about China’s increasingly assertive behavior in East Asia.
In a meeting on Tuesday, Trade Minister Tran Tuan Anh told Lighthizer about Vietnam's views and solutions to some U.S. concerns, such as advertising on U.S. social media, electronic payment services and imports of information security and farm products, the southeast Asian nation's trade ministry said.
Vietnam also urged the United States to remove an inspection program on catfish, speed import licenses for its fruit and make fair decisions on anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures on Vietnamese products, the ministry said in a statement.
Phuc's meeting with Trump makes him the first southeast Asian leader to visit the White House under the new administration.
It reflected calls, letters, diplomatic contacts and lower-level visits that started long before Trump took office in Washington, where Vietnam retains a lobbyist at $30,000 a month.
Vietnam was disappointed when Trump ditched the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade pact, in which Hanoi was expected to be one of the main beneficiaries, and focused U.S. trade policy on reducing deficits.

31-05-2017 12:15 PM
The Euphrates -
European traders have confirmed that Iraq bought about 30,000 tons of rice from the United States directly for distribution to citizens and traders said the shipment would be ready for delivery in July and purchased from the company "ADM" trade.
The Department of Commerce has held talks over the past weeks on the purchase of about 100 thousand tons of American rice and made the first request on May 11.

Iraq is a major supplier of rice in the world, where Baghdad buys annually about one million tons for distribution through the food distribution program, which cost the state about 5 billion dollars a year.

The Iraqi government has authorized the Ministry of Commerce to carry out direct purchases of wheat and rice to ensure food security, including deals with state governments rather than bidding on international markets.

Oil falls as production of Libya and the United States rises

Oil falls as production of Libya and the United States rises

Baghdad / Sky Press:
Oil prices fell 1 percent on Wednesday as Libyan output, fueled by already high fears of rising US production, undermined output cuts led by OPEC to narrow the gap between supply and demand in the market.
By 0657 GMT, global benchmark crude for Brent crude futures fell 54 cents, or 1 percent, from the previous close to $ 51.30 a barrel.
US WTI crude futures fell 51 cents, or 1 percent, from the previous close to $ 49.15 a barrel.
Traders said the drop in prices was the result of higher output in conflict-torn Libya, which further intensified the impact of continued growth of US production.
Libya's crude oil production is expected to rise to 800,000 bpd this week, Libya's National Oil Corporation said on Monday.
This is likely to boost Libya's oil exports. Freight data showed that excluding exports via pipelines Libya exported an average of 500,000 barrels per day since the beginning of the year, compared to an average of only 300,000 bpd in 2016.
The increase in US production is largely due to the increase in drilling activities for oil drilling more than 10 percent since the middle of last year to exceed 9.3 million barrels per day, close to the levels of Saudi Arabia and Russia, the largest oil producers in the world.
The rise in US and Libyan production is undermining efforts by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and some outside producers, including Russia, to narrow the gap between supply and demand in the oversupplied market by cutting production by about 1.8 million bpd to the end of the first quarter of 2018.

French-Iraqi cooperation against "Dahesh" in the land of Mosul

Press reports said that French special forces stationed in the Iraqi city of Mosul were working to locate and prosecute the French "Daouash" and to cooperate with the Iraqi security forces in this matter.
The newspaper "The Wall Street Journal," the United States, that the French special forces stationed in Iraq and Mosul in particular, seeks to locate the presence of elements "urging" the French to liquidate them in light of joint cooperation between Paris and Baghdad in this regard.
France and Britain do not hesitate to monitor and target their own nationals in terrorist groups in accordance with the principle of "self-defense," according to the authorities in the two European countries, with the assistance of US forces often.
According to foreign reports, this situation since 2014 and the entry of the countries of the "international coalition" in the war on the organization of "Daash" terrorist, raises several dilemmas and questions to the judicial authorities in the countries concerned.
The reports and information came at a time when Iraqi military and media sources had reported the presence of a French military in Mosul during the clearing of the left side of the city divided by the Tigris River to two sides.
According to Iraqi sources, the French military force, which is moving on the ground in Mosul, arrested Iraqi people in connection with the terrorist gangs, who were providing shelter and logistical capabilities to French supporters.

6-1-2017   Newshound Guru Adam Montana   [Can there be an RV without an HCL passing? and conversely, can there be a passing of the HCL without an RV?]   In my very FIRM opinion - NO.
6-1-2017   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat
Whoever would have thought we would still be here without an RV at the end of May in the year 2017?  So now we are hearing that the “official” announcement is being PLANNED for about mid June or around June 10th. Let’s wait and see how this all plays out. Please do not expect this date to be some trigger for an RV...let’s see what goodies the CBI brings us around this time.  I fully expect them to begin their re-education campaign for currency reform/delete the zeros project and what they will do in the next phase of it.
5-31-2017   Intel Guru RayRen98    The CBI Governor was on television saying the deposit protection law would be implemented soon.   The IMF is supposed to meet with the CBI today.  Citizens were urged to evacuate areas of Mosul, with full liberation expected in one week.  ...this morning...Iraqi television is reporting ‘complete liberation of Mosul is coming soon’.   I can’t see it dragging many more days now.  When it’s finally concluded, with reconciliation and economic reforms completed, then we should see the currency change.
5-31-2017   Newshound Guru Kaperoni
...relax...they are not ready yet.  When you see the laws passed and the banking insurance in place, investors will begin to come into Iraq...then we will see the float.

5-31-2017   Newshound Guru Adam Montana  Back to the OPEC meeting - this went about as good as we could have hoped for! Kurdistan is officially exempt from the oil producing limitations agreement, which opens the door for Iraq as a whole.  With that "freedom" in their back pocket, Iraq is able to put solid plans into play, particularly - you guessed it - HCL!  I still maintain, as I always have, that the HCL is KEY to the success of an RV.  We do NOT want to see Iraq RV, only to have the price of the currency plummet immediately due to a lack of faith in Iraq from outside countries, currency exchanges, the IMF, and all the other important pieces of this puzzle! So just because they didn't RV on the 26th does not mean we should despair or even worry - there is a specific path to success, and Iraq is in a position to take that path...Iraq is actually working on the important stuff (finally), and there is optimism about the coming days  [post 2 of 2]

5-31-2017   Newshound Guru Adam Montana   ...this Ramadan is certainly like no other since what feels like 100 years ago when I first got involved in the Dinar!  ...I have always maintained that nothing serious will get done during Ramadan...this is the FIRST time I've ever felt differently! THIS Ramadan, in my opinion, has potential. Potential for the HCL, potential for major announcements, potential for major progress. I have not decided if I believe this includes or excludes an actual RV, but my gut is leaning towards "Yes on HCL progress, No on a RV announcement". If there was going to be an immediate RV, it should have been done after the OPEC meeting, but before the start of the Holiday, so I'm leaning towards late June.  [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

5-31-2017   Intel Guru Bruce   They are in Ramadan now and will set off the fireworks when the timing is right.  Some of the parades did take place a few days ago. They are in the midst of the celebration, but not full bloom as much as they will be as soon as the announcement is let out and the budget is put in the Gazette finally with the visible. My understating is our Secretary of the Treasury was supposed to make a phone call to PM Abadi this morning [Tuesday]. I don’t have confirmation that occurred, and I think it was going to be a congratulation call for the RV of the currency and the sovereignty and return of Mosul.  We don’t know the exact rate on the screens. They were trading those currencies up to new levels. Everything is moving forward and you are moving forward with it.   I know we are very close. Let’s pray we are at the end of this ride and we get to see this thing very shortly.   [post 2 of 2]

5-31-2017   Intel Guru Bruce  I think the fact it is pretty quiet overall is a good thing. Some sources we had in the past have gone dark.  A lot of things have happened very positively to move this thing along. We do know what has happened in Iraq they have had some rate changes in country.  Still looking for an international announcement about the RV of the currency, and the fact they are truly sovereign as a nation and have their complete sovereignty back. The take back of Mosul has been accomplished for some time, but it is just coming out the last couple of days in main stream news.  Infrastructure projects in Iraq to keep going and moving. They laid brand new electrical cable in Mosul, new fiber optics, new links in all the banks, all connected and working, ATM machines are up and running. Throughout the country all are ready.  [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

5-31-2017   Newshound/Intel Guru BGG   "Our economy is space. Monetary policy is an example"  The...article is a VERY HARD translation - BUT IMHO FILLED with DEAD GIVE-AWAYS!  ...for those pouting about not being rich yet - this is one more log on the FIRE!  What it means is - they are doing things (up until now) this economist doesn't understand and can't explain.  Quotes:  "...we urgently need a new economic philosophy that leads to generating development And to expand the supply and demand for local production in all its variants, especially in an important aspect of monetary policy is dealing with the value of the development of the dinar or the liberation of the value of the dinar..."  "The liberalization or floating of the currency is not strange or innovative in the money market, it is a tool of the monetary policy..."  BOOOOM...That's all I have to say. That is a DIRECT narrative on the state of the currency value in Iraq. This was published yesterday.  Cannot be anymore direct.
