Al-Halbousi instructs to quickly prepare the secret voting system

A parliamentary source revealed, today, Tuesday, that Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi instructed the council’s departments concerned to quickly restore and complete the secret voting system.
The source told {Al Furat News} that “the deputies were notified by the Communications Department who did not complete their fingerprints and received the pagues of the secret vote to expedite the completion of this, and indeed we went yesterday and completed the procedures.”
He continued, "This system was imported months ago and was installed, but it was lifted after the development of the scene of demonstrations and threats to storm the Green Zone."
The source said that "returning it so quickly and at this time makes doubts arise that the vote on the new government will be secret."

A high-ranking delegation from the Kurdistan Region, headed by Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, is scheduled to visit the capital, Baghdad, today, Tuesday.
Member of the Kurdistan National Union Bloc Shirvan Mirza said during a special statement to PUKmedia: A delegation from the Kurdistan Region headed by Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, will visit the capital Baghdad today, Tuesday.
He added: The delegation will discuss efforts to form a new federal government headed by Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi with the political parties in the capital, Baghdad.
He explained: I think that the Kurdish sides and other political parties have shown some flexibility in the matter of forming the new government, stressing that the Kurdish parties have shown good flexibility for the sake of Iraq’s interest and bypassing the current stage.

Iraq's Sadr suspends protest call over coronavirus fears - statement

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Populist Iraqi Shi’ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr suspended a call for his followers to hold massive protests against his political opponents due to fears over the spread of coronavirus on Tuesday, minutes after the health ministry urged citizens to avoid public gatherings.
“I had called for million man protests and sit-ins against sectarian power-sharing and today I forbid you from them for your health and life, for they are more important to me than anything else,” he said in a statement.

The 2020 budget will arrive in parliament in two weeks .. This is the most prominent thing it contains

The Parliamentary Finance Committee suggested, on Tuesday, the arrival of the 2020 budget in parliament after two weeks, noting that the most prominent thing in the draft budget is the addition of financial allocations to re-terminate their contracts in the popular crowd.


Committee member Hanin Qaddo said, "The country's draft federal budget law for 2020 will arrive in the parliament two weeks after the formation of the government of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi," noting that "the deficit in the budget law can be addressed by high oil prices."
And that "the resigned prime minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, should have sent the budget before submitting his resignation, so that we do not fall into the pain of the delay, which has seriously disrupted the projects."
He added that "Allawi has programs and priorities that differ from the directions of the caretaker government, not to mention the existence of many notes on the draft law," noting that "the ministries of finance and planning will set the broad lines of the budget before sending it to parliament for a vote."
And he added, "This year’s budget will contain special financial allocations for emergencies and to face the threat of the Corona virus," explaining that it "will focus on slow projects."
Al-Kiddu denied, "There is a deficiency in covering the salaries of employees, but the government may need to borrow internally from expenses and shares."
A member of the Finance Committee warned that failure to vote on the new government will negatively affect the economic and financial situation, especially the budget, as it will be dealt with according to the principle of 1/12 as it happened in the year 2014.

Nina publishes the most prominent materials for the government program of Muhammad Allawi

The Iraqi National News Agency / NINA publishes the most prominent articles of the government program for Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi.

The government program stated: Cooperation with Parliament to legislate the Federal Court Law, work to release the detainees, reveal those involved in assaulting the demonstrators, address the roots of corruption, constrict the spoilers, strengthen the armed forces, restore state prestige, remove the combat forces from cities, work to return the displaced, and establish principles of human rights, fundamental freedoms, and balance In foreign relations, on the basis of respect for sovereignty and the transformation of the land of Iraq into a square of convergence instead of attacking the neighborhood.

The program also included preparing for early and fair elections (without specifying the date) that was left to the commission and reviewing the work of the currency sale and the exchange of the dollar window.

U.S., Iraqi forces arrest tribal leader in western Iraq


BAGHDAD, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- U.S. and Iraqi joint forces arrested on Monday a leader of local paramilitary Sunni tribal fighters in an airdrop operation on his house in Iraq's western province of Anbar, a provincial police officer said.
The airborne force conducted an operation before dawn on the town of al-Baghdadi, some 190 km northwest of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, and arrested Maadi al-Obeidi, a leader of local tribal fighters affiliated with the Hashd Shaabi forces, the officer told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The troops transferred al-Obeidi to the nearby Ayn al-Asad airbase, where hundreds of U.S. troops are stationed, the source said, adding that there is no immediate information about the reason behind the arrest.
Ayn al-Asad, previously named al-Qadisiyah, is the second largest air base in Iraq and has the largest number of U.S. troops in Iraq.
Over 5,000 U.S. troops have been deployed in Iraq to support the Iraqi forces in the battles against Islamic State (IS) militants, mainly providing training and advising to the Iraqi forces.
The troops are part of the U.S.-led international coalition that has been conducting air raids against IS targets in both Iraq and Syria.

2-25-2020   Newshound Guru Vital Brad  ...Part of me does feel like they will come out at a low rate...just throwing a number out there let's say 10 cents, something like that just to get back on the international market and get rid of some of the amount of the Iraqi dinar that's out there...get some people to turn in their dinar at a lower rate.  I believe it can float up to a higher rate...Kuwait's currency right now I believe is around $3.40 and Iraq has much more oil reserves than Kuwait...there's no reason IMO they should be lower than Kuwait.  So I think it'll get up there.

2-25-2020   Intel Guru Frank26   ...I would like to believe that it's true that President Trump has given them the date to stop using the American dollar in the auction and I believe that they have committed to it.  And the fact that it's from Donald Trump who I don't think that's going to delayed or moved or anything.  You don't trump Trump..

Regardless of what some "Never Dinarians" are writing lately...remember it is easy to argue any point when the fine points are not in the talk. I have studied these "money" matters for many years. And, to that end, anyone who argues that Iraq is not going to somehow, someway, someday go international and raise the value of their currency is simply not looking closely. Do I think It will suddenly pop up to some mythical $3.50 range overnight? Possible, for the Iraqi Dinar has years of history in this territory. So, a reinstatement is possible. If I were a betting chap I would say it comes out at .86 on Forex and makes a speedy dash higher.

2-24-2020   Newshound Guru Vital Brad   It appears like Iraq might do exactly what Kuwait did.  In 1991 they revalued their currency after their war on...March 24th 1991.  If Iraq is gonna do this they're following in the footsteps of Kuwait IMO...They [Iraq] still owe Kuwait some money but they've already told us that to pay Kuwait that's gonna be in the 2020 budget.  There are certain things in the 2020 budget that appear need to happen - that can't happen until there's a new rate.  It looks like in Iraq everything right now is on standby until the reinstatement...come Monday they get their government set and then guys we're coming up on March.  This was the same time 30 years ago just about that Kuwait revalued their currency...

2-24-2020   Intel Guru Frank26  ...it is a specific percentage of Parliament that is in attendance at that moment that creates a quorum...a percentage of that attendance is what determines a vote...332 would make a full quorum of Parliament but no body shows up like that all at once.

2-24-2020   Intel Guru MarkZ   [via PDK]   We are close…painfully close…I hate to whip anyone up with false hope but it really looks very good today. No rate change yet in Iraq…I spoke with my contractor contact and they are feeling very good though…At this point they believe as soon as new government is settled…they will see the new rate. A vote of confidence is scheduled for new Gov…I believe on Wed.  We should sit back and watch the news happen today…..So much is coming together…

This is also a very big burden on the Iraqi people, or external borrowing, and this also bears the weight of future generations. ".  No mention of deleting the zeroes or " RV " as a solution/remedy.  Frankly, I would not expect any news or advance notice of such an impactful economic event(s).

2-24-2020   Intel Guru Frank26   ...It looks like Iraq is very serious about being a world power.  They're using 'vehicles' to bring money in and out of Iraq in large amounts IMO from many other countries...they're jockeying for position.  The race is about to start.  This will cause the economy of Iraq to explode.  This is huge...Gold was the first to move to the CBI IMO from many parts of the world last month and now we're seeing IMO large amounts of money that has a safe manner in which to enter and exit Iraq...Iraq is playing with the big boys they just got to announce it now...

2-24-2020   Newshound Guru Vital Brad  ...Allawi's government is potentially gonna be done by Monday.  We've heard a lot in this Iraq investment that the Iraq government needs to be set before they can reinstate or some people call it revalue their currency.  So with that happening Monday does that mean that an RV is gonna happen soon after?  This whole thing is in God's hands...I could have really really used this back in like 2012.  It was a turning point in my life.  It didn't happen and in hindsight it's a really good thing it didn't happen.  I would have blown it like a lottery winner...I've grown a ton.  I'm now gonna be a much better steward as I'm sure a lot of us are as opposed to having it happen back than...2020 maybe it's our year...

Hassan Al-Kaabi: The parliament will witness for the first time in its history the formation of a government without political agreements

{Baghdad_Yen} The first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan Al-Ka’bi, said of the Marchers’s Bloc on the subject of the parliament’s meeting scheduled for next Thursday to vote on granting confidence in the new government. Al-Ka’bi said that I believe that the parliament will witness for the first time in its history and since 2003 a vote on a government without Political agreements on granting confidence to a minister and not granting it to another without any pressure from the heads of the blocs on the deputies,
He said that if the session failed to give confidence to Allawi's government, then the established constitutional and legal mechanisms will be the only option to get out of the crisis, and he added that those who object to Allawi’s assignment have the right to appeal to him and his government in the Federal Court in the event that a vote was given to grant confidence in the session that is chaired by its president, Muhammad al-Halbousi. Next Thursday.

Monday will be the last date to end the issue

The speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, has set the deadline for resolving the cabinet of the Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi.

Al-Halbousi said in a press statement that "the next Monday is the last date for the end of the cab issue, and the issue should be resolved in the session next Thursday or before the second of March."

He added, "If [Allawi] does not obtain the approval of the absolute majority, he will not give confidence and the matter will return again to the President of the Republic to choose another candidate for prime minister."

Al-Halbousi stressed, "The primary task of the taxpayer is to set a date and conduct early elections and impose state prestige only."

The Presidency of the Council of Representatives, has decided next Thursday the date of the extraordinary session of Parliament to vote on the booth of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi.

The Presidency of Parliament also received the government curriculum, which includes, according to sources, "preparing for early elections, extending the rule of law, developing the economy, achieving development, caring for youth, meeting the legitimate demands of the people, and emphasizing balanced external relations."

Integrity seizes defendants accused of fraud and bribery in Wasit

The Investigation Department of the Federal Integrity Commission announced that it was able to seize a number of employees in the Kut Execution Department, for taking bribes from auditors in exchange for completing their transactions.

The department indicated that its staff in the Wasit Investigation Office, which was transferred to the Kut Implementation Department, was able to seize five employees for receiving money from the auditors in exchange for disbursing the bonds belonging to them and not obstructing them, indicating that during the process an amount of [29,877,000] million dinars was seized In possession of the accused.

In a separate operation, the office's staff arrested a defendant who defrauded citizens with the crime, while receiving a sum of money from a person in exchange for his promise to appoint a foreign company operating in the province.

The department indicated that the team, in coordination with the Baghdad Investigation Directorate, was able to seize the suspect’s partner in Baghdad in flagrante delicto, after he was traced upon receiving the money from the first suspect.

The department confirmed that fundamental arrest records were seized with the seizures in the two operations carried out on the basis of two judicial arrest warrants, and they were presented to Mr. Judge of the Investigation Court specialized in integrity issues in Wasit Governorate, who decided to arrest the accused in accordance with the provisions of Resolution [160 of 1983] and Article [456] of the Law Penalties.
