Clashes between residents and security forces in camps for the displaced south of Mosul

Jun 18, 2018
Mosul «Al-Quds Al-Arabi»: Clashes occurred between the parents and security forces in the camps for the displaced people south of Mosul.

Eyewitnesses told Al-Quds Al-Arabi that "the clashes broke out because a staff member of the camp deliberately beat a 3-year-old boy, killing him immediately."
Following the incident, the police arrested the perpetrator in the police station. However, the children of the child, who belong to the Shamar tribe, demanded the extradition of their son to be killed, which was rejected by the security forces, witnesses said.
Jamal, an eyewitness, told Al-Quds Al-Arabi: "The parents of the child attacked the police station, clashed with the local police forces, seized their weapons and kidnapped one of the policemen and severely beat him. .
According to the source, "Iraqi army and intelligence forces intervened to resolve the conflict, but the people also clashed with them. Heavy gunfire took place in the camp before the Iraqi forces imposed A ban on roaming in order to contain the situation and regain control ».
Gamal pointed out that «the incident occurred after the driver of a tanker carrying water to the camp accidentally hit a child, which led to his death and the occurrence of clashes that were severe and came out of control after the intervention of relatives and relatives of the child who live in the camp».
He explained that «the children's parents are tribes who live in the desert of western Iraq displaced to the camp after the military operations in the country».
Displaced camps in Iraq have been in a state of chaos and instability since they were opened to receive the displaced.
According to observers, can not stabilize these camps in the situation in the country, calling for the closure and return people to their areas in order to restore stability to the country.

Water crisis prompts Iraq to ban 8 summer crops
18/06/2018
Mahdi Mahdi al-Qaisi, Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture, revealed that the ministry has decided to ban the planting of 8 crops under the agricultural plan for the summer season because of the scarcity of water resources .
"The Ministry of Agriculture presented the agricultural plan for the summer season to the Ministry of Water Resources for adoption, and the latter apologized for not being adopted due to lack of water revenues ."

"The cultivation of rice , maize, sorghum, sesame, cotton, millet (grain used as animal feed), sunflower and cattle from the summer plan has been canceled," he said.
For years, Iraq has been suffering from a steady decline in water resources through the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and the water shortage has exacerbated the low rainfall in the Arab country over the past years.

Iraq relies on water security mainly on the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers and their tributaries, all of them from Turkey and Iran and meet near the city of Basra in southern Iraq, to form Shatt al-Arab, which flows into the Arabian Gulf.
A water crisis began between Turkey and Iraq after Ankara recently began storing the Tigris River in the Elesu dam near the Iraqi-Syrian border.

At a time when Iraqi officials confirmed in statements to the "New Arab", earlier in June that the dam will cause serious problems for the agricultural sector, the Turkish side stressed that it did not move towards the construction of the dam only in agreement with the Iraqi side, And that the two sides have maintained understanding and joint action. Turkey has postponed the start of storage, at the request of Iraq, from January to June, which reduced the flow of water "Tigris" to Iraq by about 50%.
Baghdad fears that the new Turkish dam will lead to a drought that will devour some of the agricultural land and threaten livestock, through reduced water levels. What exacerbates the crisis is the depletion of water on the other hand by Iraq through the construction of dams and reservoirs. Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, the ministries of water resources, agriculture, municipalities, the Secretariat of Baghdad and the security authorities recently "to take measures to implement the plan to address the scarcity of water."

The economic expert, Abdel Monem al-Tai, said that about seven million acres of Iraqi land suitable for agriculture in various provinces will face full drought, pointing to the need to accelerate the drilling of wells in agricultural areas to provide water for them.
According to data from the Center for Urban and Rural Planning in Iraq, the expected losses in all sectors affected by drought this year is estimated at more than 10 billion dollars, pointing out that Iraq currently reaches about 7 billion cubic meters of Tigris annually, after 20 billion Cubic meters.

Experts predict that the losses will not only be material, but that the water crisis will have dire consequences for society and the demographic change that will take place in drought-stricken towns and villages.

Need for Banks to Support Entrepreneurship

A lawmaker called for the establishment of specialized banks tasked with facilitating entrepreneurial development. The banking sector has long been grappling under President Hassan Rouhani with a discretionary system for granting loans, largely a legacy of the previous administration that piled a backlog of non-performing loans. “One of the Southeast Asian countries has an impressive record in creating jobs and boosting lucrative enterprises. In the long term, these small enterprises were combined into major ones and this achievement was made possible by banks that provided special backing to entrepreneurs,” Gholamali Jafarzadeh also told ICANA on Sunday, without naming the Asian country.

Venezuela Oil Production May Soon Sink to 1m bpd

https://financialtribune.com/articles/energy/88177/venezuela-oil-production-may-soon-sink-to-1m-bpd
Monday, June 18, 2018
Venezuela’s plummeting oil production is nearing the psychological threshold of just 1 million barrels per day as early as this year, analysts and industry experts tell Platts.Venezuela’s production plummeted again in May by 42,500 bpd from April to below 1.4 million bpd—1.39 million bpd, according to OPEC’s secondary sources in its latest Monthly Oil Market Report published earlier this week, Oil Price reported.
According to the United States EIA, Venezuelan production was 1.43 million bpd last month, down from 1.46 million bpd in April and from 1.98 million bpd in May of last year.Lejla Villar, who works on projections for EIA’s monthly Short-Term Energy Outlook, currently expects Venezuela’s production to fall to 1 million bpd in the second quarter of 2019, but she is waiting to see June export numbers from Venezuela—if they are low, Venezuelan production could sink to 1 million bpd sooner than that.
“If the worst-case scenario for June production comes true, then we could see Venezuela’s production fall to 1 million b/d sooner,” Villar told Platts.“Depending on what June does, this may or may not lead me to a more pessimistic view on Venezuela’s production outlook through the end of 2019.”The International Energy Agency forecasts that Venezuela’s oil production could drop to just 800,000 bpd or even lower next year.“For Venezuela, we assume no respite in the production collapse that has taken 1 mbpd off the market in the past two years,” the IEA said in its Oil Market Report this week.
According to Francisco Monaldi, a Latin American energy policy expert at Rice University, Venezuela’s production will see a “major drop” this month and next, as production plunges to the 1-million-bpd threshold by November or December this year.Ed Morse, Global Head of Commodity Research at Citi Group, believes that the plunge to 1 million bpd is imminent, as current production is likely around 1.1-1.2 million bpd.
Venezuela’s rig count number is in the 20s, while it needs it into above-40 territory to sustain production flat, according to Morse.

It is that simple...  The CBI technically is ready and they told us just last April the “project to delete the zeros” is done as far as they could go and are ready to move on to the final stage. This was terrific news...But then the economists, consulting the govt, told us they will probably plan to wait until after the elections to go forward with it to this final stageThis was done not so much due to the election instability but because they needed elimination of this currency MANIPULATION and FRAUD and the CBI came right out and told us this too. This was in dealing with the currency auctions. We recently read that four (4) banks can no longer do business with the CBI and are prohibited from participating in the auctions or any funded CBI banking programs. So are they now readyWhy else would they have begun their re-education program if they are not intending to move ahead again?

In other words, central banks are going to use it to prop up their own financial systems.
