Chairman of the commission Shakir al-Zamili pointed that the biggest share was for Turkey.

The main investment sectors concentrated in health, tourism, agricultural and educational sectors, Zamili pointed out.

Iraq plans to plant 70,000 palm trees south of the capital Baghdad, hoping to revive its production of dates, which has long been known throughout the Middle East. Iraq has produced three quarters of the world's dates, but now produces only 5 percent, after turning its economic focus to oil, after decades of war destroyed its farms. The sources pointed that Shell Company isa planning to concentrate on its joint gas project in the country.Earlier, the company sold its share in West Qurna 1 oilfield to a Japanese company.On 5 April, 2018, the Iraqi government signed a 2-year contract with two companies to operate gigantic Majnoun oilfield on behalf of Basra Oil Company.
The current production in the field reached to about 235.000 b/d, with a future plans to increase production to 450.000 within three years.
Anbar/ Iraq TradeLink: Member of Anbar Provincial Council Sabah Karhout called Baghdad to
withdraw the contract from the US company that will rehabilitate and secure the international highway connecting Iraq with Syria and Jordan.
He added that the company did not start its work on the highway, demanding that the rehabilitation should be given to the province, if financial resources are available.
Karhout pointed that the security forces and tribal fighters secured the highway, but the governmental support is needed to protect the desert areas.

More than 1.64 billion transactions with a total value of 1.78 quadrillion rials ($41.85 billion) were registered by Shaparak, the Central Bank of Iran-affiliated entity in charge of the country's payment settlement system, during the second month of the current fiscal year that ended on May 21.
According to the latest report published by the entity's official website, those numbers indicated an increase of 13.67% in terms of number of transactions and a surge of 51.59% in terms of value compared to the previous month. The number and value of total transactions grew by 28.29% and 34.44% respectively year-on-year.

Iraq is participating with a fairly large high level delegation. Iraq plans to use this opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Iraqi banks with foreign correspondent banks. In order to prepare the Iraqi banking sector to move towards global prospects. Either outcome is fine - the way things are moving forward is positive for us. I figure it will take a couple weeks for everything to shake out. If Abadi is ousted, he is still laying very solid groundwork for his successor. If he retains his position, he’s setting himself and Iraq up with a solid launchpad. No matter who is in charge a month from now, we’re heading the right direction, and with good speed. And that, my friends, is good news to me! 6-27-2018 Newshound Guru Adam Montana The recent elections went down pretty much exactly like the last 2 or 3 election cycles… votes were cast, accusations of fraud were thrown around, and weeks post-election there is no clear victor. Let’s look past the “headlines”, though. Look at what’s actually happening, and things clear up a bit. Abadi's opposition is reported to have won something of a majority of the votes, so it’s possible that he’ll be donning the captain hat. Abadi, in the meantime, is apparently ignoring the entire issue and has moved forward with a good number of items that he could have easily ignored or postponed to dump off on the future President, should it come to light that he has lost his seat. 6-27-2018 Newshound Guru Kaperoni ...with 60-plus trillion dinar in circulation, if you're expecting any kind of overnight event you're dreaming other than a LOP...a one-to-one rate or higher then it's going to be a LOP. Moving to a float is the right thing to do and it allows the world to set the value as well as counter inflationary pressure created by investment. Such a move will not give any kind of overnight RV or RI but a gradual appreciation overtime. And we may have to wait several months or even a year or more for it to rise to a level that we all are comfortable with. What that means is the value of the dinar will go up but just not overnight. I believe it could take 6 months to 2 years for it to reach parity with the dollar once it begins. Again keep in mind there's a lot of factors that play on how fast a dinar rises primarily how fast investment comes into the country. That is why it's important that the CBI properly prepare everything. Not only the banking system but the laws to support investment and having a stable investment climate. Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi heads a meeting of the Supreme National Water Committee
Prime Minister Dr. Haider al-Abadi on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Supreme National Water Committee.
The meeting discussed the procedures of the Ministry of Water Resources regarding the treatment of water scarcity for this summer. A number of procedures, decisions and follow-up of previous decisions were taken.
The Committee decided to allow the cultivation of the amber pulp with an area of no more than 5 thousand acres to maintain the type and seeds distributed on 3,500 acres in Najaf province and 1500 dunums in the province of Diwaniyah.
In addition, paragraph 2 of Resolution No. 287 of 2014 has been amended to become an addition to the budget of the Ministry of Water Resources for the year 2019 and subsequent years for water treatment and flood prevention. It shall not be transferred or disbursed except for these purposes exclusively and presented at the next cabinet meeting to be approved.
The committee decided that the user responsibility will be to maintain and clean the cages of herbs, plants, shamplan, Nile flower and reeds and activate the procedures to reduce the violations on the cages and determine the amounts imposed on the violators due to non-compliance with the controls.
Also discussed the excesses on the Tigris River at the site of the Sarafiya Bridge and instruct the Ministry of Transport, the General Company for Maritime Transport to lift the excesses in Marsa Altayfiyah and to confirm the formations of the Secretariat of Baghdad to work to lift abuses.
The project discussed the Cree River Tigris and installed water level in Baghdad and put the project to the National Investment Authority.

Deputies are talking about extending the three presidencies with full powers
BAGHDAD - June 28 - A member of the parliamentary legal committee, Hamdiya al-Husseini, said on Thursday that the parliamentary blocs will vote to extend the work of parliament in today's session.
"The blocs are ready in Thursday's session to vote on the fourth amendment, which will extend the work of parliament until the ratification of the Federal Court on the results of the elections."
"The aim of the extension of the parliament to keep the three presidencies full powers until the resolution of the election file and the results," adding that "the amendment will include paragraphs to monitor judges assigned to the process of counting and sorting by hand."
She added that "there are intentions to make amendments to the law obliges the Electoral Commission to count and sort all the stations and electoral centers," revealing that "the Council of the Electoral Commission received several objections by the affected parliamentary blocs on counting and sorting requests to include all centers."
