Iraq .. Conflicting news about the release of the six abductees from the grip of "Dahesh"
Iraqi media reported that the security forces were able to free the six abductees and that they were on their way to their families, but the Joint Operations Command later called for "accurate information to be transmitted and rumors of their release released in order to save their lives."
Activists launched on social networking sites Hashtag "saved a door" and published through it claims to the Iraqi government to intervene and rescue the abductees.
The campaign followed the publication of photographs of the children of the abductors raising their parents' pictures, under which they wrote "Save a door".

UN chief: JCPOA valuable part of peace, security
http://www.irna.ir/en/News/ 82952938
New York, June 26, IRNA - UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres hailed Iran nuclear deal as valuable part of peace and security, saying that it is important to save the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA
Addressing a meeting of the United Nations Security Council themed ‘Security in Middle East and North Africa’ on Monday, he warned about threats of instability around Persian Gulf, saying, “That’s for the same reason that I support mediatory efforts of Kuwait to overcome differences among Arab states in the region.”
“The JCPOA should remain as a valuable section of peace and security, irrespective of the discussions that are being made about Iran’s role in the region,” he said.
On the region as a whole, Guterres recalled that Cold War rivals still found ways to talk to each other and cooperate, indicating that countries in the Middle East and North Africa could pursue a similar path.
He also urged Council members to find “much-needed consensus and to act with one strong voice”, adding that regional organizations can also contribute to efforts towards preventive diplomacy, mediation and confidence-building.

AIIB to Expand Spending
Tuesday, June 26, 2018
AIIB says it has enough capital to back the projects and does not need fresh funding. The bank has $20 billion in cash and $80 billion worth of guarantees from member countries
“India is the largest borrower, we are working in Bangladesh, Turkey ... Country is not a limitation,” said AIIB Vice President and Chief Investment Officer D.J. Pandian, adding that the decision still needs approval by the bank’s board of directors.India has already borrowed $1.21 billion from AIIB. On Sunday, Indian Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg, told reporters India has sought project financing of around $2.40 billion from the bank. Of that, $200 million will be invested in India’s National Investment and Infrastructure Fund, which funds commercially viable infrastructure projects.
Six projects in India have been approved by the AIIB, while another six are in the pipeline. The new projects include a Mumbai subway line, irrigation and flood management projects in West Bengal, and rural roads and city development for Amravati, the new state capital of Telangana in the south. Bangladesh has proposed a water supply and sanitation project while Turkey has sought funds for a gas storage expansion project in the middle of the country.
Enough Capital Available
AIIB said it has enough capital to back the projects and does not need fresh funding. Pandian said that the bank has $20 billion in cash and $80 billion worth of guarantees from member countries.Pandian also stressed that AIIB, which has faced questions about Chinese influence on its decision-making, is “an apolitical organization”. Some have said that Beijing-based AIIB had hoped to change the idea that it’s an arm of the Chinese government by holding the annual meeting in India, China’s biggest regional rival.
Speaking at a separate session, AIIB President Jin Liqun said the bank’s vision is to collaborate closely with all governments that it works for, especially on behalf of private sector companies that are working on infrastructure projects.“We try to give you feedback ... I hope the government will be listening to and do something practical to help them (private players) out. I think in this regard the private sector will be willing to pour in money,” he said.
$4.5t Infra Investment, a Challenge
Creating infrastructure will need $4.5 trillion investments over the next decade and the cost of the money will be a challenge, India’s interim finance minister Piyush Goyal said. The minister, however, said finding the required finance will not be a “deterrence” for the country. “Infrastructure creation requires $4.5 trillion in investments over the next 10 years, Goyal said at a panel of governors at the summit. He further said the required funds will be available and raising it will not be a “deterrence” for infra creation. However, in the comments that come amid rising interest rates globally, led by hardening of rates in the US, as also domestically, Goyal flagged the cost of finance as an “important challenge”.Capacity building to handle big infra projects is also a challenge, he added and hoped that the multilateral institutions like the AIIB will help in both the challenges. However, Singaporean lender DBS chief executive Piyush Gupta said finding finance for infrastructure is not easy as banks, which have traditionally financed infra, have a limited capacity, making bond markets the go to platform for raising the resources. But the bond markets too have their own challenges in supporting greenfield projects and tend to keep away in the initial years, which is critical for a project, Gupta pointed out.
Co-Financing
Co-financing with the World Bank and other peers accounts for two-thirds of the AIIB’s 25 approved projects so far, worth $4.4 billion in total. Its lending has grown in line with expectations, rising to $2.5 billion last year from $1.7 billion in 2016.Contrary to some predictions, the list of AIIB loan recipients has not been skewed toward countries that enjoy close relations with China, such as Pakistan. Besides India, Indonesia, the Philippines and Central Asian and Middle Eastern nations are also among the names. Its membership has grown steadily, with Kenya and Papua New Guinea joining in May, bringing the total to 86. France, Italy, Germany and Britain have been members since the outset. Of the Group of Seven leading industrialized economies, only Japan and the US do not belong to the AIIB.

Blockchain Technology Can Make Same Impact as Internet

The head of Switzerland’s Department of Economic Affairs believes that blockchain technology will make a global impact on the same scale as the internet.Johann N. Schneider-Ammann indicated that over the past few years Switzerland had evolved into a leader in blockchain technology and that he intends to provide continuing support for the sector and companies that operate within it, Cryptodisrupt reported.
During a speech at the Crypto Valley Conference in Zug, Ammann said: “Switzerland is a global leader in terms of this new technology and its economic application. We would do well to continue at pace, instead of laying the right tracks after the moment has passed. History is littered with examples of what happens when the train speeds off in a different direction.”Ammann pointed out that although the birth of the Worldwide Web occurred in Geneva, the lion’s share of the development work was done elsewhere due to “impractical policies and insufficient developments.”
No stranger to criticism for his openly optimistic stance on cryptocurrency and blockchain, Ammann commented–“In January, I said that if the experiences in Zug were positive, then in a few years’ time the whole of Switzerland should be a crypto or blockchain nation. That won me plaudits, but also a fair amount of criticism. But I think: there is no reason for the latter.“The fact that Switzerland is today a global leader in high-tech industries and in pharmaceuticals is seen as normal. It is easy to forget that these sectors too once started out with previously unknown technologies and services like blockchain is doing today.”
The importance of blockchain projects realizing their long-term visions and commercializing the technology is not lost on Ammann, although he recognizes that this won’t be accomplished overnight. No one really knows if some of the rather hopeful growth forecasts for blockchain-based services and products will actually materialize. But hardly anyone still doubts that blockchain will penetrate our entire economy. What is clear is that we currently know far too little about the new technologies, their potential and their risks.”
For years Zug has been recognized as the blockchain capital of the world due to its friendly regulations, and Ammann’s speech confirms that this will continue to be the case.

6-26-2018 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat Here we sit just less than 1 week prior to the target date of June 30th for the formation of the newly elected Iraqi government. This could prove to be a pivotal week for us in that they must complete the recounting effort prior to July 1st . Based on everything else we are now hearing...I am afraid to say this probably will not happen. Some Iraqi electoral commission representatives tell us it should take 3 days, others say 10 days and then others months. Who knows? All we can go on now is what they (Iraq) are telling us. Many of you are beginning to WORRY and get ANXIOUS to exchange your dinar at the banks. ...this reinstatement of the dinar will occur and very shortly but not this week. We just have to be patient and let it all play out.
6-25-2018 Newshound/Intel Guru Randy Koonce Another 'rumor' going around is that it is 1 to 1 in Iraq already. The only reason to RV is to be able to use it in the world market place. World Market Place means 'outside of Iraq'. ...You are NOT 'in Iraq'. And until the rate changes on cbi.iq - it makes no difference to you or I what is going on inside of Iraq. About 3 weeks ago, there was a statement added to the CBI website (you know - cbi.iq) that basically explains to the Iraqis what to do and how to bring in old and damaged money. The good news is that this statement basically started the RV process. Iraqis will only notice after the rate changes that it does not take as much to buy bread as it did before.
6-25-2018 Newshound Guru chattels [referencing election results] Recent news report states that the manual recount will not begin until Wednesday / Thursday of this week. Historically manual recounts in Iraq have taken four weeks. Official announcement will involve review / action by the " Iraqi Supreme Court ".
6-25-2018 Newshound Guru Kaperoni If there is an overnight event you can be assured it's a LOP. No country could RV or RI with 60 trillion+ in circulation. Every single one of us should hope and pray the CBI gives up the peg...chooses a new exchange rate regime that is a float and allows the dinar to gradually rise over time as the IMF stated allowing them to reduce the money supply. Only then can we gain from the full appreciation of the dinar. Personally I believe this is what will happen because it supports the transition of monetary policy, it supports the financial system, and it alleviates inflationary pressure. ...I've already said...it's not possible to reduce the money supply while having daily currency auctions.

6-25-2018 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat ...as we know... the currency auctions will go away as they are run today once the value changes and the dinar is reinstated and traded. There will be no need for the auctions any longer. Let me ask you this: Then why is the CBI taking such a large effort now to get the dollars out of circulation in Iraq and force the citizens to use dinars? Can you see they are already beginning to make the transition and are weening the economy off the use of the dollars. So we know the move to end the currency auctions must not be too far in the near future. I like the part when she calls on the banks to “act quickly”.

6-25-2018 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat Article: "CALLS ON BANKS TO ACT QUICKLY TO AVOID THE CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF POTENTIAL CRISES BY RETURNING TO INCOME-PRODUCING BANKING PRODUCTS AND NOT RELYING ON THE CURRENCY WINDOW FOREVER" ...basically this article is all about the currency window and how the banks are overlying on the money they are making off it. The author is saying its time to stop relying so much on the currency window for revenue and diversify into other products to generate revenue for the banks. I quote – “NOT RELYING ON THE CURRENCY WINDOW FOREVER”. Its time for the CBI to help them find other products and help rescue them. ...this is very good news for us... [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]
6-25-2018 Newshound/Intel Guru Randy Koonce What if the election does not get resolved? From what I understand, if all goes bad and it looks like it will go forever, then POTUS is wanting this out anyway and will continue to apply pressure to get it finished. This window will remain open until around the 8th of July. ...In my opinion, the pressure being applied will make this go, and will get it done much sooner. And, if you see the "Sadr and Abadi Play Nice" speech, with them having the largest block as the Papers are indicating now, it will be much sooner...So, hang in there Everyone. It's coming, one way or the other!! We are close.. Every large bank will exchange.. RELAX the RV is coming... Breathe. [post 3 of 3]
6-25-2018 Newshound/Intel Guru Randy Koonce This should have been finished in May. There was an Organization, who shall remain nameless, that thought they knew better about what needed to happen in the election; and therefore did not release it as planned. That being said, our POTUS is VERY tired of waiting for this to go off. He has applied, and is still applying lots of pressure on this, along with several other major countries. The US has been involved in the background along with the UN to resolve the Election Mess and get this rolled out for the benefit of all of us. The Election results should be announced officially no later than the end of next week. Shortly after that announcement, we should/will see the rate change... [post 2 of 3....stay tuned]

6-25-2018 Newshound/Intel Guru Randy Koonce First, are we in a new window of opportunity 'right now'. When I say that, it does not mean it will happen without a doubt in this current window; it does mean that there is a very good chance for the rate to finally change...At the bottom of every update I always state: When it happens, check the cbi.iq to verify!! That is where I check. And if the Conversion rate is different -then it happened! On the website today (cbi.iq) it shows: US Dollar US 1190...Until it changes on that website, no one will be able to go to any bank and exchange your dinar. It has to change there FIRST. ...Here is what I do know... [post 1 of 3...stay tuned]
