Sources reveal the most prominent agenda of talks Saleh and Erdogan today {expanded}

Release date: 2019/1/3 8:40  301 times read

BAGHDAD (AFP) - A senior Iraqi delegation led by President Barham Salih flew to Ankara on Thursday for an official visit.
"Saleh left for Turkey on an official visit accompanied by a high-level government delegation," the presidential press office said.
Saleh and his accompanying delegation are scheduled to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara to discuss relations between Iraq and Turkey in various dimensions as well as cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
A statement by the Turkish presidency said Wednesday that the two presidents will discuss ways of boosting cooperation between the two countries in various fields and will exchange views on regional and international developments of common concern.
"The talks between Saleh and Erdogan will focus on cooperation between the two countries in combating the activities of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which Turkey considers a terrorist organization, especially after Iraq officially protested the recent Turkish air strikes on sites in northern Iraq, Sinjar province Nineveh ".
The sources added that "developments in Syria will be at the top of the agenda of the talks between Erdogan and Saleh when they meet today in Ankara."
"The talks also deal with other issues, including the participation of Turkey in the reconstruction of Iraq and the issue of sharing the waters of the Tigris River between the two countries and cooperation in border security."
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry summoned the Turkish ambassador to Baghdad, Fatih Yildiz, recently, and handed him a letter of protest over the repeated air violations by Turkey.
In a statement, the ministry condemned the Turkish planes' violations of the Iraqi airspace and the targeting of many sites in the areas of Jabal Sinjar and Makhmour in northern Iraq, which caused loss of life and property.
On the other hand, Turkey confirmed its intention to completely eliminate the presence of the PKK in northern Iraq, in reference to the continuation of military operations in the region despite the protest of the Baghdad government.
Erdogan reiterated that his country would continue counter-terrorism operations without interruption and that Turkish forces would continue their struggle against what he called the "terrorist organizations" in the mountains of Jabbar and Jodi in northern Iraq without stopping. "Our fighters destroyed the terrorist hideouts in Sinjar and Karajak."
"The PKK has threatened to escalate against Turkey," he said in a statement. "We will respond strongly by escalating operations inside Turkey, not now, as operations have been reduced because of winter conditions, and we will have another response to Turkey."
Turkish Defense Minister Khulosi Akar said last month that his country would not allow the Sinjar district in northern Iraq to become a "shrine for terrorists" like the Kandil mountains where the Labor Party is based.
Akar pledged that Turkish forces would continue to confront all terrorist organizations that threaten the country both inside and outside

Iraq demands Saudi Arabia to clarify its "hand" on one of its oil ports

{International: Al Furat News} A senior Iraqi official revealed that Iraq is seeking clarification from the Saudi side about the Kingdom's recent use of an oil port on the Red Sea.
"The port was built with Iraqi funds as part of an agreement reached between the two countries in the late 1980s to diversify the sources of Iraqi oil exports, but it stopped after the Gulf War. .
The project includes the extension of a strategic oil pipeline from the fields of Basra in southern Iraq, with a capacity of 1.6 million barrels per day and ends in Saudi territory at the port of Majaz, near the port of Yanbu Saudi Red Sea. The port was built according to an agreement between the two countries with Iraqi funds, Riyadh has the right to act without returning to Baghdad as the owner of the right to invest in it.
The Iraqi Ministry of Oil opened the port of Al-Majaz, and representatives of Western and local companies contributed to the completion of the project and started the export operation before the first Gulf War broke out following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, but stopped exporting after the interruption of the Iraqi pipeline in 1990, From the port of Miracle to the southern port of Yanbu.
In May 2017, Reuters quoted Saudi officials as saying that Saudi state oil giant Aramco plans to launch the Red Sea port of the Red Sea resort next year, bringing its total loading and export capacity to 15 million bpd. Aramco details through its official Twitter account show this clearly.
According to an Iraqi official in Baghdad, speaking to "the new Arab", "the Iraqi government is determined to clarify the Saudis about the port of Al-Maajaz and unilateral use of it," adding that "the port was built with Iraqi funds, which is like any investment project governed by laws and agreements, Clarification from the Saudi side that the subject is circulating in Iraq and there are pressures from political forces around him. "
Issam Chalabi, former Iraqi oil minister for the "New Arab", described the use of the port by the Saudi authorities as a "handshake", pointing out that this has been going on since 2000.
Chalabi explained that he opened the port at the time, for the export of Iraqi oil on January 7, 1990 and continued until the second of August of the same year.
He added that "the Saudi authorities in 2000 put their hands on all parts of the project, including the Iraqi pipeline, which is now used by Saudi Arabia within its territory, but two months ago I heard that they will use it in the export of oil, and can reach a political agreement or understanding, .is over

What will the Middle East look like in 2019?
Aljazeera
As we start the tenth year after the onset of the Arab uprisings, there is, sadly, little hope that there will be peace, democratic transition and stability in the Middle East. 2019 will not bring much positive change to the region: Ongoing conflicts are unlikely to be resolved, some may even get worse and new ones may break out. In this continuing upheaval, the United States will certainly play the most important role. The political wrangling between President Donald Trump and the Washington Read the full story

1-2-2019   Newshound Guru Adam Montana   ... I think this year is going to prove different than the last.  ...It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the tail end of 2018 didn’t bring us an RV.  Iraq operates on a global scale, so things that happen around the world do have an influence on them.  2018 was the worst year in the stock market since 2008. More importantly, US crude posted it’s first loss since 2015. Those are not specifically Iraq’s losses, of course, but lower oil prices affect ALL oil markets. Combine that with a general lack of news regarding the HCL and we have an obvious situation where they would not pull the trigger. We'd all like to think that Iraq can pull off an RV with lower oil prices, but the current market needs to change for Iraq and everyone else to be confident.  It will happen, of course. But this doesn't look like the week for it. Not that I'm discouraged at all! The current market is a temporary thing. Nothing negative has happened to scare us from the future of this venture. And I don't think anything has changed to make Iraq no longer want to regain their former position of power and influence.  It will happen. The question is only "when"?

1-2-2019  Newshound Guru Breitling  The next big step for them was…the volume of currency that was out there.  Then they had full control over the Iraqi dinar.  So what are you and I looking at Why am I invested?  …I see an undervalued currency.  Just like Warren Buffet sees an undervalued stock in the stock market…I can tell you where the value was at.  I can tell you where the value is right now.  And I can tell you what the value could be.  The difference between Warren Buffet and us is that he has management rights.  We don’t have management rights.  We have to have confidence in the…people who are managing it to get it to where we want it to be.  We’re just investing in an undervalued currency…Don’t tell me it’s at true market value…there’s all this hidden value in it.  The people who don’t see it, hey that’s on you…it’s the most legitimate thing out there.  It’s a huge opportunity.  The question is, when.  You and I don’t have control over that.   [post 2 of 2]

1-2-2019  Newshound Guru Breitling  …We’re looking at a currency [Iraqi Dinar].  We know what it used to be worth…the highest it was worth was $3.25.  Saddam Hussein through his manipulated currencies said it was worth $3.75 but we know that’s not true.  We had the first gulf war and it took a huge hit.  So we know what the value went to at that stage.  The second gulf war we knew it was going to drop to compete nothing so we injected the Iraqi economy with $1.5 billion worth of U.S currency so when we did the shock and awe they had money to spend…later on down the road they printed the currency that you and I have and they actually had to put $1.5 billion more U.S. dollars more into the economy because the popularity of the currency [Iraqi dinar] started going up So what were they trying to doControl the pace of the economy of Iraq.  They actually had to do this a couple of times…[ post 1 of 2]

1-2-2019   Intel Guru Bruce   Every indication we have had over the last 3 or 4 days is pointing toward the next day or so.     ....We did get a few things that sort of confirmed where we thought we were and where we are, and where we plan to be the next couple of days. I am going to stay very positive and say that I believe we are at the end...We know everything is ready.   [post 2 of 2]

1-2-2019   Intel Guru Bruce  [via Pinkroses]   ...here on January 1st is as an International New Years Day none of the banks are really open, but also none of the markets are opened for trading. ...but they are getting ready to start up here...  ...I do know that what we have heard regarding the rates have been very favorable. ...Yesterday we heard very positive thing that put the Iraqi Dinar at about $5.60. It put the Vietnamese Dong at almost $5.00. ...Now let me say this, those rates were still up this afternoon [Tuesday], but they had not changed because no trading has taken place. Now we believe that tomorrow we will have new rates up on the screens that should be even better. All the rates including the Dinar should be there.   [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

1-2-2019   Newshound Guru MilitiaMan  Article:  "An economic artery will link Iraq to Jordan for decades" Quote:  "...both countries would arrive at details of the transfer and cost of export of Iraqi crude oil to Jordan before 2 February 2019."...  They have had this in the works for years... Fees and Customs Duties.. Taxes and Tariffs willl automatically adjust when timed accordingly and appropriate.!! imo ...we are in a sweet spot.. imo.

1-2-2019   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat   Article:  "AL-TAMIMI: IRAQ WILL BORROW FROM 21 FOREIGN PARTIES IN THE BUDGET OF 2019"   Quote:  “The 2019 budget is going in the wrong direction,” she said."  Tamimi is an MP on the finance committee.  I would listen to her closely.  She is also the one that first exposed all this corruption with the currency auctions years and years ago and we all know this is in part, why the reinstatement is taking so long.  We also know that in part the new Nov sanctions on Iran were designed to force Iraq to close down the auctions and use dinar for trading purposes with neighboring countries. But in order to do this they must first reinstate the currency...
