A single passport for the continent of the continent
Editorial date: 2019/1/8 10:29 • 141 times read
The idea of a unified passport for all Africans seems closer to reality than many would imagine, according to the head of the AU Commission, Moussa Fakih Mohamed.
In a message on the occasion of New Year's Day, Faqih Mohammed said that the 32nd Ordinary Session of the African Union Conference will present some details concerning this passport, which he described as "the long-awaited dream."
"During the conference to be held next February in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, details will be presented on the design, production and issuance of the African passport."
He added that the move would make the "long-awaited dream" closer to reality, for "full freedom of movement across the African continent."
The Single Passport aims at facilitating the movement of Africans among African countries, as well as stimulating economic growth and promoting trade movement.
This development follows the announcement by the African Union of a "unified air market" initiative aimed at creating a common market for goods and services.
The website "Quartz" that if the heads of state ratified the details of this initiative, in February, it will pave the way for the issuance of the next passport.
He said the African passport would be in the interest of citizens of countries with "weak" passports, such as southern Sudan and Burundi.
Travelers from southern Sudan and Burundi need visas to visit 48 and 47 African countries, respectively.
It is not known how far African countries agree to this step, as migration experts continue to discuss their positive and challenging challenges, especially their impact on the security of States

Internal controversy on Iraqi politicians visits to Israel
11:34 AM admin
Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink: The disclosure of the travel of some Iraqi politicians to Israel aroused intense internal controversy that obliged the Iraqi parliament to open an investigation with the names mentioned in the Israeli reports and news.
Though media reports mentioned the visits first, but the Israeli foreign ministry reported on its Twitter account that three Iraqi delegations visited Israel in 2018, despite that Iraq is still in a state of war with the Jewish state.
The Iraqi parliament called for an instigation to disclose the names of those visited the occupied territories, if the visits “turned true”.
The Israeli foreign ministry reported that 15 persons visited Israel from “influential” Sunni and Shiite
sects, where they visited the Holocaust Museum and met Israeli academicians and official.
Israeli museum official said that ten 10 Iraqis visited the museum at the end of December, 2018, but refrained from revealing the names and positions of the Iraqi visitors.
Iraqi Jews called the Jewish state to normalize relations with Iraq and other Arab countries, but the matter is sensitive.
Israel was the only country that supported the separation of the Iraqi Kurdish region from the center, Baghdad.
This is not the only visit to Israel, taking into consideration that ex-MP Mithal al-Alousi visited it in 2008, which visit stirred great uproar within the country.
On the other hand, ala-Qarar Alliance issued a statement on the news of the visit of its parliamentary bloc leader Khalid al-Mifriji.
The bloc said that the news is a “lie” to affect the political position of al-Mifriji.
The denial continued by the Iraqi political blocs, regarding the news as a a move to split the Iraqi political ranks.

1-7-2018 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat Why do I keep saying “reinstate” instead of “revalue”? The CBI can’t revalue the dinar since it is not even yet on the global trading platforms. ...We must go by pure definition of what being traded means...To be “traded” means that the dinar can be bought and sold on the “open” global currency exchanges like other currencies. It also means that investors in currencies such as hedge funds, investment brokerages, etc, etc can legally pick up the dinar and place them in portfolios such as 401k, retirement funds, mutual funds, etc...The CBI itself tells me they must first “reinstate’ the dinar and in this process they expect a significant rate change. This process stems around the “project to delete the zeros”. They tell me this project must coincide closely with the reinstatement process. This is what we watch and wait for not a revaluation.

Warnings of taking rice daily
BAGHDAD - A series of new studies have warned that we can inadvertently introduce ourselves to harmful bacteria and toxins by eating seemingly safe foods.
Regular intake of rice - the largest source of food for inorganic arsenic - could lead to the accumulation of toxic chemicals in the body, researchers said.
Broccoli contains high concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons - a carcinogen according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer - which do not pose immediate risk, but may cause long-term damage.
Zheng Chu of the University of Michigan, Indiana University, analyzed arsenic research in rice and looked at the amount of this substance that could enter the stomach and be digested to reach the blood.
After reviewing 143 studies, Zhou found that between 73 and 88 percent of the arsenic deal was disintegrating and entering the consumer's circulation system, according to the British Daily Mail.
The study reopened the debate on the dangers of rice. A few years ago, some food reports said the main food could be poisonous and urged parents to reduce the amount of rice that was fed to their children.
Studies suggest that rice cooked with more water (6: 1) helps reduce arsenic levels, and brown rice lovers should turn white if they want to reduce arsenic levels.
