Perhaps the biggest concern was that the first version of the law, submitted to Parliament in 2015, included only two jurists within the court, but the new version of the law raised their representation ceiling to four.
The Federal Court is one of the six main judicial authorities in Iraq, whose main functions are to monitor the constitutionality of laws, to interpret the provisions of the Constitution, to adjudicate cases arising from the application of federal laws and to endorse the final results of the general elections.

The Prime Minister, Mr. Adel Abdul-Mahdi, during his chairmanship today, the third meeting of the High Commission for Coordination between the provinces, The need to cooperate and provide a safe, stable environment for investments, bypassing regionalism and looking at the supreme interests of the country, enhancing stability, security, economic and service conditions, achieving public benefit and responsible work under the Iraqi constitution, which regulates the powers of federal and local governments.
