US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo held a phone call with Nechirvan Barzani to congratulate him on his election as the new president of Kurdistan Region.
Pompeo reiterated his country’s support for Kurdistan Region and encourage Erbil and Baghdad to work closer and address the remaining disputes between the regional and central governments.
Barzani thanked the US for continued support to Kurdistan Region, and pointed out that Erbil has always believed in peaceful dialogues as the best mean to resolve differences with Baghdad.
Nechirvan Barzani, who currently serves as the prime minister of Kurdistan Region, was elected the president last Tuesday. His inauguration is scheduled for 10th June.

A statement issued by the Central Bank of Iraq that the Governor of the Central Bank Ali Mohsen Ismail adopted an initiative to train unemployed graduates with a theoretical course, complemented by practical work through the coordination of the Banking Control Department with a group of private banks to enrich the successful trainees with an applied experience that qualifies the graduates to work in the sector The banker.
