That doesn't mean anything anyways...You went all the way from $3.25 all the way down to a tenth of a penny. So pick a rate...what's the original value? There's no set of rules. They want to REVALUE the currency. They never said they want to reinstate...If there are any articles out there talking about reinstating their currency it never once came from the CBI...They clearly said they'll start off and get it to a buck. Whatever it is, they want to get it to a buck. Don't worry about the "RI".
9-28-2019 Newshound Guru Kaperoni I cannot see any reason the CBI would make a move before the end of the year. Banking reforms still need to be done, laws still need to be passed, investors need to come and set up business and there is a criticle vote Oct 24 on the CBI governor...If we're lucky and Iraq succeeds in launching a market economy around the first of the year, and we see the significant transition built into the budget for 2020, then we should see the Central Bank move off the peg and begin to float the currency next year. But time will tell.

Increasingly my thinking is that Iraq just has too many problems for our liquidity event to happen. Lack of security, instability and corruption remain constant companions for Iraq. 9-28-2019 Newshound Guru Kaperoni ...technically we were very close 6-7 years ago under Shabibi...Shabibi clearly prepared, held the dinar within 2% for 14 months or so and announced he was ready to move forward. As well the World Bank launched an extensive campaign on behalf of the CBI to inform citizens. For whatever the reasons, Maliki stopped him. Everyone is aware of that.

Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi receives a number of graduates with high degrees and promises to respond to their demands
Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi received on Saturday a number of graduates of degree holders, listened to their proposals and demands, and promised to resolve them in a short time and as soon as possible.
The Prime Minister stressed that the duty of the State to find work for its children, which is a right for them and our government program provides for this and we are making progress.
He added that the state faces many problems as you know and its potential is less than its requirements, but we have to address any imbalance, and we have possible solutions to work on and are assured of the sincerity of our promises with our people.
He added: You are our brothers and sisters and sons and we are not two fronts, but one front and the government elected and accountable and we have no tendency to shed and listen to our people and respond to legitimate demands and dialogue.
The Prime Minister pledged to develop solutions and accelerate and find a solution to a large part of the problem of graduates, pointing out that the demonstrations of the graduates peaceful and disciplined and the right to express their demands and peaceful appearance of the duty of the security forces to protect and deal with them peacefully and disciplined as well.
The graduates thanked the Prime Minister for following up their problem and demands since the beginning of its launch and the efforts being made to respond to it.
The graduates met earlier with officials in the prime minister's office to discuss their demands and proposed solutions.

The Ministry of Communications, on Saturday, denied reports on the disconnection of Internet service throughout Iraq, starting on Sunday.
The ministry said in a statement received by the All-Iraq News Agency [where] a copy of it, it "denies Matadolh some websites regarding the disconnection of Internet service across the country on Sunday and even another slogan," stressing that "all Maatadol in this regard is untrue."
The ministry called for "taking news and information from reliable sources."
