Kuwait dismisses Iraq border protest
KUWAIT CITY, , (Agencies): Kuwait Tuesday dismissed Iraqi objections that a platform installed within Kuwait's territorial waters would affect demarcation of maritime borders beyond maritime border sign No.
162, affirming the country was exercising full sovereignty.
A Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry source was reacting a reported Iraqi memorandum submitted to the UN Security Council (UNSC) to protest Kuwait's installation of a platform over Fisht Al-Eij, a piece of land located within Kuwait's territorial water, claiming it would undermine demarcation of maritime borders beyond sign No. 162. The source, in a statement to KUNA, said Kuwait received the Iraqi memo and responded to it immediately.
The source said Kuwait's territorial waters were specified by a decree issued on Dec 17, 1967, and updated on Oct 19, 2014. The decree was in compliance with UN treaty on law of seas of 1982. He said Fisht Al-Eid was a natural piece of land over the sea level and was located within Kuwait's territorial waters.
“Therefore, the installation of the platform is a sovereign right for the State of Kuwait within its territories and territorial waters,” affirmed the source. The platform installed in Khor (inlet) Abdullah for security purposes, said the source, and Iraq has been informed about it.
An official letter informing the Baghdad government was sent to the Iraqi embassy in Kuwait on Feb 8, 2017. Kuwait answered memos sent by Iraq on Sept 5, 2017 and Sept 12, 2018, in which Baghdad urged Kuwait to delay the installation of the platform until after installation of maritime border signs beyond sign No. 162.
The source said the Kuwaiti position was included in two memos sent from Kuwait Embassy in Baghdad to the Iraqi foreign ministry on July 26, 2017 and on Sept 26, 2018, affirming Kuwait was exercising its sovereignty.
The foreign ministry source said State of Kuwait has been requesting Iraq since to start maritime border demarcation negotiations ever since 2005. “The State of Kuwait called on the brothers in Iraq to end this issue through international maritime arbitation in line with the UN treat on law of sea of 1982, ”he said.
Kuwait, he said, would continue coordination with Iraq to address all outstanding issues “in order to prevent distortion of relations.” The Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hazem Al- Yousifihas denied there is any issue between Kuwait and Iraq concerning the maritime border. He said this should not be a hindrance or a problem in relations and instead lavished praise on these relations stressing they are at their best given the significant development in all fields.
In an interview with the Annahar daily during his visit to the country to hand over an archive of 42,000 books found recently (and believed to have been stolen during the invasion of Kuwait), he said that there is the will between the two countries to overcome the mistakes of the past, and everything that happened during Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait, pointing out that the invasion was an exceptional event in the history of the two brothers.
The Iraqi official praised the Kuwaiti support for his country and the visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad to Baghdad, which gave a strong impetus to the development of relations.
Iraq Denies Reports of Forced Return of IDPs
BasNews 05/09/2019 - 00:32 Published in Iraq
Iraqi Ministry of Displacement and Migration has denied the reports of forced return of IDPs in the country, a statement most probably given as a response to a UN report in this regard.
Earlier on Tuesday, the United Nations said that it is concerned over the forced return of hundreds of IDP families from camps in Nineveh province to their places of origin "with little notice or apparent planning".
"Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations in Iraq Marta Ruedas expressed her concerns regarding the means and methods of transfers of internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in camps in Ninewa [Nineveh] Governorate over the past ten days," reads a statement by the UN.
It explained that around 300 families have so far been returned from the camps of Hamam Al Alil, Salamiyah, and Nimrud in Nineveh to the provinces of Anbar, Kirkuk, and Salahaddin.
"I am concerned about the lack of organization and advanced communication with the affected communities and humanitarian partners," said Ruedas. "While acknowledging the Government of Iraq’s expressed desire for IDPs to return home at the earliest opportunity, all such returns should take place within agreed-upon frameworks and with due consideration for humanitarian principles."
However, Nowfal Musa, the Iraqi Minister of Displacement and Migration, said in a statement on Wednesday that they have spared no efforts to provide a suitable situation to help civilians return to their areas of origin, rejecting any reports of forced return of the IDPs.
He said that they would continue to help the civilians to return to their hometowns whenever they want to, without any pressure from the government.
Iran Threatens to Further Diminish Commitment to Nuclear Deal
BasNews 05/09/2019 - 00:01 Published in Middle East
ERBIL Iran has threatened to further diminish Tehran's commitment to its 2015 nuclear deal, setting a new deadline for Europe to reset the terms of the accord.
The comments were made by President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday, in which, he noted that the moves would have an "extraordinary" impact and will accelerate Iran's nuclear energy program.
Tehran had already made it clear that it would reduce its commitment to the deal every 60 days unless Europe renegotiates the agreement and compensates Iran for its loss in oil revenue due to the US sanctions.
"The third step . . . is of an extremely important nature and will considerably accelerate the activities of the country’s nuclear energy organization," Rouhani said at a cabinet session, without giving details on what steps would the country make in this regard, as quoted by the Mehr News Agency.
"This step is the most important one we will take, and its impact will be extraordinary."
He gave Europe a two-month ultimatum for resetting the deal, according to the report.
"Europe has another two-month deadline for negotiations, an agreement, and return to its commitments."

Instead of consumer prices, there has been a massive rise in the prices of equities and properties. Economists tell us that the money did not go into consumer goods but into asset prices. The fact is, money (or irredeemable currency) does not go into or out of anything. In this paradigm, changing prices are described as inflation or deflation. Thus, non-rising consumer prices, combined with skyrocketing capital asset prices, is consumer goods disinflation and asset inflation.

EDITOR'S NOTE
Does the economy drive the stock market or does the stock market drive the economy?
Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan says what happens next to stocks will determine what happens next to the economy.
“Strangely enough, it’s going to depend in large part on the stock market,” he said on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” on Wednesday.
The stock market generates a wealth effect that grows the economy, Greenspan explained, adding that every 10 percent rise in the S&P 500 generates a 1 percent improvement in the nation's gross domestic product.
“It’s important to recognize that if we get a major stock market adjustment, we are going to feel it in the economy, which has very short lag,” the 93-year-old economist said.
Where stocks go from here is anybody's guess. CNBC's Tom Franck compiled forecasts from mainstream strategists for where the S&P 500 will end up this year. His chart shows they're pretty far apart even though there are less than four months left in the year.
On Wednesday, stocks opened strong and the Dow Jones Industrial Average held its gains later in the day.
The day's trading offered a breather from the volatility that has characterized the past several weeks, given trade war uncertainty, a slowing global economy and ominous signs from bond markets.
Whether it's the economy or the stock market determining the direction, both were calm on Wednesday.

Is it possible to manage the oil export compass of Kirkuk away from Kurdistan?
04/09/2019 03:29 AM | Read
Political and economic circles in the Kurdistan region of Iraq have circulated for the past two days reports of an Iraqi-Iranian-Lebanese- sponsored effort to export oil products of the disputed Kirkuk region through Syria, through the oil pipeline linking Iraqi fields to the Syrian port of Banias, through the provinces of Mosul and Anbar. Syrian territory, thus dispensing with the Kurdistan oil pipeline, which exports oil through the Turkish port of CeyhanThe Syrian-Iraqi export pipeline, which connects Iraq's oil field network to the port of Banias, was established by British Petroleum after World War II and has been used for historically intermittent periods, depending on the relationship between the political regimes in Syria and Iraq. It stopped for a long time since the early 1980s, with the outbreak of the Iran-Iraq war, and returned to work in 1997, with the return of relations between the Syrian and Iraqi regimes at the time, but stopped completely since the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. The pipeline now needs strategic maintenance, because B. The effects of the war in Syria and Iraq on its infrastructure.
On the other hand, the deliberations of the Kurdish political and economic circles were based on what was published over the past weeks in the Russian media, which went on to say that Russia is sponsoring continuous meetings between Iran, Syria and Iraq, to agree on a joint strategic project between these countries on this pipeline, which It needs investments estimated at about $ 8 billion to rebuild.
The sensitivity of the Kurdish side has increased since the circulation of this news, because it was based primarily on signs that the Iraqi federal government and the Iraqi central political forces are seeking to find discharge points for Kirkuk oil, in preparation for dispensing with the Kurdish oil pipeline. The Iraqi government stopped exporting Kirkuk oil to Iran about three months ago, in response to US sanctions on the latter.
Also, the process of exporting Kirkuk oil to Jordan has already started since late July, through the border crossing of Trebil between the two countries, has become 200 road trucks, carrying crude oil from the fields of Kirkuk to Jordan, pursuant to a memorandum of understanding between Iraq and Jordan, signed In February, supplying Amman with 10,000 barrels of oil per day, in return for Baghdad to get electricity from Jordan.
This coincided with the strategic contract signed by the Russian oil giant «Rosneft» with the Lebanese government to store Lebanese oil and operate its facilities in the Tripoli area, over the next 20 years, and the possibility of linking this Lebanese-Russian agreement with Moscow seeks to implement through the export of Iraqi oil through The port of Banias, which is not more than 100 kilometers from the Lebanese TripoliMixed endeavors
Observers who follow the economic files in the Kurdistan region that this project combines the interests of several countries, Iran seeks to equip the oil corridor between Syria and Iraq, to become a suitable alternative at any time in the event of the deterioration of military and security conditions in the area of the Hormuz oil corridor, to be able to continue Exporting its oil through that line. Iran is also seeking to develop a tool for Syria to serve as an economic lever, relying increasingly on Iranian aid. Russia believes that the re-operation of this pipeline will bring them net profits. With its influence and possession of part of this pipeline, it will control a large part of the Middle East exports to European countries, having seized the pipeline that exports the Kurdistan-Iraq production through the Turkish port of Ceyhan.
Difficulties
Observers do not expect the project to be easy to implement, as there are financial, logistical and political difficulties that may hinder its implementation in the next two years at least, according to Kurdish researcher Omid Saman. The initial investment of this pipeline requires billions of dollars, an amount that the governments of Iran, Iraq and Syria will not be able to provide directly in light of the fiscal deficit that surrounds their budgets, especially since the revenues of this project are not guaranteed, and it may take years to recover what has been invested in this project.
These financial investments, if they occur, would be in a completely insecure environment, as Saman explains.Lines of supply extend over a thousand kilometers, most of them in deserts that have been and are still the focus of intense civil and political conflicts. This environment has been a strategic center for ISIS for years. The Islamic State terrorist group still has cells in these areas and occasionally launches attacks on oil installations. How about a 1,000-kilometer oil pipeline that harms the interests of the countries and parties fighting it? .
This insecure environment comes mainly from the instability of the political situation in the oil pipeline area, and the relations of competing parties are highly contradictory. In addition to the Iraqi federal government and the Syrian regime, there is also the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the Kurdish self-administration in the eastern Euphrates region, and the political and organizational forces of the Arabs in All this area. These parties are fighting each other politically and militarily, and any of them can topple the interests of the other party, especially in the absence of any prospect of consensus in the foreseeable future.

Jaafar said in a statement to the information, that "the resignation of Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi is not excluded, especially as he had done this act previously by relinquishing the posts of Vice President and Minister of Oil."
He added that "the resignation of the prime minister will be the most dangerous in this delicate situation, and will put the country in an unknown state, especially that the threat of ISIS terrorist remains, in addition to political ambitions and tensions in the region, making Iraq in the wind," noting that "the pressure will be strong, from "The prime minister is not taking the step of resigning," he said.
And that "the resignation is not excluded in the event of the Prime Minister to prepare another figure, be agreed within the parliament and between the political blocs in order not to create any vacuum in the post of Prime Minister," ruled out "the removal of Abdul-Mahdi, some of his ministers, especially as he still suffers from the lack Resolving the post of Minister of Education, where the dismissal of some ministers is likely to occur through interrogation within the parliament by political blocs. Surprise as Baghdad files border complaint against Kuwait at UN

Baghdad submits letter to Security Council
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: Iraq on Aug 7, 2019, complained to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) that Kuwait is pursuing a 'fait accompli' policy in terms of geographical changes and maritime borders between the two countries, reports Al-Rai daily.
This has caught everyone - especially those who closely follow the rapprochement in relations between the two countries countries - by surprise because the move has poured cold water over all efforts that have been so far been exerted.
The diplomatic sources at the United Nations told the daily that the Iraqi representative to the UN, Ambassador Mohammed Bahr Al-Uloum, delivered the letter to the President of the Security Council, requesting it to be circulated among the Council members.
The Iraqi envoy has also reportedly met a number of council members to explain Iraq's position. The Iraqi government has asked the United Nations to treat this as official protest against what it called 'the changes made by the Government of Kuwait in the maritime area after the mark 162 in Khor Abdullah by strengthening the shallow area (Fasht Al-Aij) and the establishment of a port structure unilaterally without the knowledge and approval of Iraq, considering that this has no legal basis in the joint plan to regulate maritime navigation in Khor Abdullah '.
Iraq said the demarcation of the border by one party in areas not agreed upon by the concerned parties, as stipulated by the Amiri Decree 317 of 2014 regarding the delimitation of the maritime areas of Kuwait is null and void under the provisions of international law. In its letter to the Security Council, the Iraqi government noted Kuwait's continued imposition of a de facto policy of creating a new situation that changes the geography of the region which will not contribute to supporting the efforts of the two countries to reach a final demarcation of their maritime boundaries.
A Kuwaiti official, who wished to remain anonymous, said the Iraqi complaint to the Security Council comes at a time when bilateral relations between the two countries are moving forward and has culminated in mutual high-level visits between officials of the two countries.
The officials pointed out border disputes are usually discussed at a bilateral level between nations through joint committees and others, as well as the demarcation of the border between Kuwait and Iraq came in accordance with Resolution 833 of the Security Council in 1993.
He added the issue of the maritime zone and its markings and demarcation were discussed during all bilateral meetings between Kuwait and Iraq, and the latter would have preferred not to go into technical and legal details to avoid backlash at home from the Parliament and the Iraqi street . The official said it would have been wise on Iraq part not to circulate the letter as an official document among the UNSC members.
The Kuwaiti official stressed the facility (Fasht Al- Aij) falls within Kuwait's territorial waters and this has been historically and legally documented. On the other hand, Iraq's complaint against Kuwait at the UNSC has provoked a tense reaction from Kuwaiti MPs who have expressed their displeasure and called on their government to respond to the charges.
Chairman of the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee MP Abdulkareem Al-Kandari called on the government to explain the situation, especially since such an accusation has severe diplomatic ramifications rendering previous diplomatic initiatives and visits insignificant.
He pointed out this course of action can only be described as provocative which demands a firm Kuwaiti stance, considering the issue is subject to UN Security Council Resolution No. 833/1993. He warned that “any infringement on this resolution will affect the sovereignty of Kuwait.” He stressed that it is also unacceptable for official news outlets to disregard this matter while praising diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Closer to Baghdadi confirms the suffering of ISIS leader from health problems .. And tells the differences of the organization
September 5, 2019 - 11:50 am
- Baghdad / Step PressBefore its defeat and expulsion from the cities, the Islamic State terrorist organization witnessed in recent periods sharp differences raged and reached the point of the coup of the leaders of foreign fighters and Arabs, especially Tunisian fighters and the most prominent reason for this was the disappearance of the “caliph” terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi .The disagreements have had an impact on al-Baghdadi, who remained in his "usual calm". He had to wear out fatigue and fatigue, according to a close associate, as well as health problems, such as surgery on his left ear in the Syrian area of Bu Kamal.Terrorist Rabah Ali Ibrahim Ali Al-Badri, cousin of ISIS leader Ibrahim Awwad Ibrahim Ali Al-Badri, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi and his cousin, a childhood friend who worked in the so-called Agricultural Bureau, is one of the most important financial resources of the terrorist organization. In his confessions before the Karkh Investigation Court specialized in terrorism cases, the terrorist tells the most prominent thing that he had with his cousin in the only meeting that they have gathered since the declaration of the “Caliphate State”. Pursuing him or revealing his whereabouts."I was close to Baghdadi. We grew up together from childhood and parted in the late 1980s when he moved to Baghdad to study for his doctorate," said Rabah."Baghdadi was calm and away from extremist and extremist ideas. He was arrested in 2007 by US forces and placed in Bucca detention center. He was released from detention in 2008, and then I met him. The last meeting was before he took over the Islamic State. "I learned after 2010 that he had been chased for his involvement in the ranks of terrorist organizations."“I used to live in al-Dur district in Salah al-Din at a time when ISIS claimed control of some governorates and cities. Three of my six children belonged to ISIS because most of the inhabitants of the area we live belonged to and echoed the allegiance and then moved to the land of empowerment; The allegiance there before the legitimates of the state and the Abu Abu Mustafa sales, ”recounts the terrorist. In his confessions before the judge in charge of the cases of the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, who investigated Rabah with all the legal guarantees, “I was appointed to work in the Agricultural Bureau / Animal Resources Department where my work was limited to raising sheep and livestock and selling them and sending money to Beit Al Mal for disposal. “The SAI was an important financial resource for the organization as well as other resources,” he said.He added, "My three children worked in military detachments within Ninewa province and were assigned duties against the advanced Iraqi military forces and engaged with them after the orders of the governor of Nineveh at the time to dissolve all administrative formations and placement of its fighters to the military detachments as the forces advanced to liberate the city.""When the city of Mosul was liberated by Iraqi forces, we moved with our families to the Euphrates province and worked there in the Agriculture Bureau as well. After the advance of the forces for the liberation of Anbar province, we moved across the border to Syria in the Shu'fah area specifically."Regarding his attempts to meet his cousin Baghdadi, the terrorist speaks Rabah “We received many warnings and prevented from trying to approach or meet Caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as his relatives by his brother in charge of protecting him and his bodyguard for fear of being pursued by the security services or knowing his whereabouts. Even talking about it. ”Rabah pointed out that "one day while I was in one of the role in the area of Shuafah, a terrorist Ahmed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's brother and his bodyguard accompanied me and someone I do not know Yakuni Abu Hajar and asked me to go with him to a place he did not specify."“I rode the wheel, a Kia carrying and blindfolded me so I could not see the road or the place we had gone to. After we arrived, my eyes were surprised by the presence of my cousin and childhood friend Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. ”.“Abu Bakr used to live in a simple, small house of no more than 150 meters, and he was accompanied by an Arab man who appeared to be an Algerian (Saudi). He started asking me about my news and the family's fate and asked me to move the families to a safe place for fear of being hated. The battles are intensifying as well as the disagreements that are raging in the organization. ”"I told Caliph Abu Bakr that there were sharp disagreements that struck the organization because of your disappearance or delay in appearing on the scene and the claim of Arab fighters that there was no Khalifa," he said. "Where is the Caliph?" He asked. He pointed out that "Baghdadi told me the text that we drowned people who work against us and that he was aware of everything that happens, these differences began to intensify until the evolution of the matter to the stage of the coup led by foreign and Arab fighters," noting that "the most prominent who was promoting differences and claims not to The presence of Khalifa are Tunisians in the ranks of the organization, and we also suffer from the Saudis who are involved in the ranks of the organization for their extremism and exaggerated extremism.Rabah pointed out that "the caliph had to wear fatigue and signs of aging and was suffering from pain as a result of the surgery he performed in his left ear in the Syrian area of Bou Kamal.""Baghdadi was not far from the Syrian Shafa area, where it took us time to get to the place where he was staying for 10 to 15 minutes from his whereabouts until he reached it, which indicates that the place was not far away or at least outside the area.""Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi let me go out in the same way that I went blindfolded. He honored me with money and I was the only one of my relatives I met, the first and last meeting after Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi became the leader of the Islamic State.

Mnt Goat We made it to September and still no reinstatement. However, we do know we are at the cusp of the launching of the second set of smaller categories, this time in coins. It is coming soon. Just remember what I have told you about the process of “deleting the zeros” and what exactly is involved...This process of “deleting the zeros” alone does not get us to the banks to exchange. ...In fact it won’t really mean much to us in Iraq but it is an indicator to us of what is to follow. What will get us to the banks (and allow the banks to exchange) is the “reinstatement” of the Iraqi dinar on the global currency markets namely FOREX. There is nothing else that is going to allow us to exchange.
Kaperoni People want to associate me with some float theory. It's not a theory it's what the IMF has specifically asked the CBI to prepare for in 2013. That is a fact and subsequently the CBI has been making significant changes with monetary policy and economic conditions to accommodate such a move. That is a fact. That is not my theory. ...why would Iraq be working so hard to create a market economy and get private investment if they did not plan to follow the IMF directive to float the dinar? I believe that is why we have not seen the CBI do anything as of yet...The conditions for the float are not in place...meaning the laws and investment. ...People tell me all the time...We don't trust the IMF. Or what proof do we have the IMF is in charge. etc. Well my question is...when has the IMF been wrong with Iraq? When has Iraq not done what they IMF asked?
Adam Montana ...OIL has flattened out around $56. This is key to the coming weeks, where HCL is expected to be a key topic. If OIL was going nuts, we couldn't expect any solid HCL progress... Next - delays, holidays, corruption, oh my! ...There are times when I read the news and I think "this isn't going to help" - but there are other times when we can see a story and even though it uses the words "delay" or "holiday" or (*insert anything here), that doesn't mean "all is lost". I think it's more important to have a "big picture" mentality. If you adopt that, you'll realize that the more news we are seeing about "Oil and Gas", which is precisely the topic we want to hear about... the more we hear about it, the more we are going to see the words "delay", "issues", etc. My point is that if we are hearing those words more than we usually do... this is actually a GOOD thing. It means they are paying attention, my friends. It means they are actually working on the important stuff. That's enough to make me happy on this particular Wednesday.
Frank26 What did we say that would be happening right now? A massive campaign of education to the citizens. You see it don't you? This massive campaign to get the message across to the citizens has been extremely successful...

Vital Brad [dinar exchange process] ...there's lots of different information coming out from different gurus. When
Iraq's currency is reinstated...All major cities have a place where you can go exchange and deal in foreign currency. So
you just go look up your local Forex banks in your area and you're gonna be able to trade it right there at the going rate...when you're dealing with large amounts of money there may be a restriction on withdrawal time. They may need
time to get the funds...IMO there isn't gonna be a need to go to a specific location...I don't believe there's gonna be
different rates that are offered...I've heard by calling these specific numbers you're gonna get a special higher rate than everyone else, I don't believe that to be true...I don't think it's gonna be as complicated as some people are making it
out to be...

Quote: "Chapter III will be dedicated to controversial laws that were not agreed upon during previous sessions, such
as oil and gas laws and the abolition of the offices of general inspectors and the Federal Court and other laws," ...they extend the session to apparently cover Mahdi's past pledge to the people...to have the reforms done in the current
legislative period...which falls within the next 7 days...That means to me they will have to have the reforms such as the
Oil & Gas done before they end the current session, the next session begins after the 10th of September. That requires
imo an international rate to be done and applied, hence, the extension has been noted publicly today.

Sam Oliver : The question isn't "if" it's how much will the rate cuts effect us. It's needed as well. Here is why. America is a
manufacturing country, and manufacturing is slowing down. The latest PMI (Purchasing Managers' Index) is a tool used to assess
marketing trends and patterns where money is possible. Right now, it is below 50. This is considered bad and represents a slowing
down economy. Essentially, there are no buyers at the top going into business and the ones in business are slowing down. It is
something to think about as people kick start new adventures. You may have noticed changes in items you see in some stores. Only
the tried and true items are being stocked at this point. No extra choices for the few. At this point, stock is determined by what will sell.
Not what we are used to is it. Well, it isn't the same world anymore either. In a fiat world, supply and demand isn't as important as
supply and the choices that come with that philosophy. In a gold standard, choices are determined by equal opportunity with solid
prices the general public can afford. It's the new world we live in for now, and the markets will soon reflect it. We are in the midst of a
global financial reset and some things do take time. Massive movements such as this require momentum changes and lots of liquidity.
It can come in the way we are presently seeing through interest rate cuts, along with, a change in prices on the markets and currency
rates with more purchasing power. We are in the midst of the first two, and the last on is coming.
