Washington cuts the Damascus-Baghdad road

Tuesday, September 10, 2019
The postponement of the opening of the existing crossing point between Syria and Iraq, which was scheduled this week, because of raids carried out by Israeli marches against the positions of Iraqi groups in the Albukamal area of Syria, means that these raids achieved their objectives. It was no secret that cutting the Damascus-Baghdad-Tehran highway, Iran's “Highway to the Mediterranean,” according to Washington and Tel Aviv, is among the top US-Israeli priorities in Syria. Proponents of US troops staying in Syria after Trump's accomplishment of its main mission - helping to defeat ISIS - justified their position by stressing the importance of countering what they see as Iran's growing influence in the country, which extends overland through Iraq, one of its gates. , According to their claims. The border between Syria and Iraq, of course, allows for many other crossing points, but the reopening of al-Qa'im is of great symbolic and political importance, because it shows the success of the parties of the resistance axis in the renewal of geographical communication among them, in the context of the escalating confrontation with the United States and Israel, which are trying to prevent Without it.

In light of these data, the expansion of the Israeli aggression, which has included Iraq in recent weeks, has a different meaning from that which has been widely used in many analyzes. The raids, according to those analyzes, have "embarrassed" Washington before some of its Iraqi "allies," who in turn are in a difficult situation against the targeted "popular mobilization" forces. The same readings also suggested that Israeli attacks could jeopardize the lives and interests of US soldiers in Iraq, because the Hashd, in the words of one of its most important commanders, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, accused them of responsibility.

The many failures and betrayals of Robert Mugabe to his people
One wishes one could say “rest in peace”. One can only say, “may there be more peace for Zimbabwe’s people, now that Robert Gabriel Mugabe has retired permanently”. Zimbabwe’s former president has died, aged 95. His failures are legion. They might start with the 1980s Gukurahundi massacres in Matabeleland and the Midlands, with perhaps 20...

Zimbabwe: Robert Mugabe's Dead, but Zimbabwe's Woes Persist
Zimbabwe's youth felt betrayed by the greed of Robert Mugabe and his generation. 9-9-2019  Newshound Guru Kaperoni   I have always said the pace of the appreciation on a float is based on how fast investment comes into the country. The faster investors bring money through the cbi's capital account to invest in rebuilding, etc. The more pressure it creates causing the CBI to allow the currency to appreciate.  So it could make a big move in a relatively short period of time?  Of course...That is what the balassa -Samuelson effect is...the directive from the IMF to float the currency is the safest and best solution for all of us to see the currency go up in value because a RV of any significant amount is not possible...a float is the only reasonable solution as requested by the IMF in 2013 as part of the Article IV Consultation...I wouldn't be in it if I believed in a LOP. But I do believe that anything other than a float is unrealistic at this point...
[Refernece Guru Chattels post below]

9-9-2019  Newshound Guru chattels
Sounds as if they may require two lifetimes for the dinar to appreciate in the manner argued by [Guru] Kaperoni, but maybe that is our reality?  [Reference Guru Kaperoni post from 9-9-2019 below.]

9-9-2019   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat    What about getting HCL and article 140 completed?  The HCL is already completed and has been passed since 2018, but not yet implemented fully and that is the problem. This too must be implemented and not just a law on paper. ...Iraq is NOT going to get back their global currency...unless they implement their constitution “fully”...There are two main areas of concern- Article 140 and HCL. Some say also judicial reform but this is also already underway...Many also say that the Iranian influence must be gone out of Iraq...As long as they are in Iraq the US will keep a military presence in Iraq. I do not believe this is going to stop the reinstatementIf it was, they would not have progressed to this point of launching the smaller, smaller category notes and coins.

9-9-2019  Newshound Guru Jeff  All we need is a VP to finish the formation of the government?  They have multiple positions to fill, Education, VP's, possible a few special grades.  They'll need a few weeks to complete it...next session 9/14.

9-9-2019  Intel Guru MarkZ   I am still stunned and surprised that we havn’t see it last week. I am hearing from my contacts in Iraq that they are starting a 2 week roll out starting tomorrow….including coins, lower denominations ect…I know many of you are concerned with rumors from other intel providers about lops ect…dont be.  A Lop doesn’t even make sense…it won’t fix anything in Iraq...

9-9-2019   Newshound Guru Jeff    ...squashing his [Guru Kaperoni's] entire theory of,  'oh, they have to float it because they have 74 trillion  in circulation'...CBI already came out and said they're gonna pull that large amount out of circulation when the rate changes.  Because most of that 74 trillion is outside of Iraq held by investors in other countries and the CBI does not give two craps about it...

9-9-2019 Newshound Guru Kaperoni ...dinar rates...in excess of $3...not possibleIraq could never afford any such RV/RI. The only scenario where I could see such a thing is if they LOP first. I've already stated I don't believe that Iraq would LOP. That being said, the only thing they can do is raise the value gradually over time as I've discussed many times via a float. The reason why I say they will float is 1, the IMF specifically gave such a directive, 2 Iraq can't afford any other increase in value with so much currency in circulation, 3 have to reduce the currency which can't occur until after the value starts to rise. So we'll just have to wait and see how the next several months play out. But I know one thing if they're going to raise the value it's going to have to occur gradually..
