The parliamentary bloc of change warned on Saturday not to fuel the situation further in Iraq, accusing the successive authoritarian elites in the country of corruption.

A statement issued by the parliamentary change bloc received to Shafaq News that "the demonstrations by unarmed citizens in Iraq, is the result of the accumulation of years of wasting hundreds of billions of Iraq's wealth because of the corruption of successive authoritarian elites, and the lack of basic basic services, unemployment and deprivation, and weaken the confidence of citizens in the process Democracy because of the rigging of general and local elections. "

"We in the parliamentary change bloc support the legitimate demands of the demonstrators and strongly condemn the use of live bullets to confront them, and at the same time we do not hide our deep fear that the continuation of the situation in this way will turn Iraq more and more into an arena of open regional and international conflicts and link it to the crises of the region as a whole, so we call on the federal government Prepare an actual and urgent project for reform and necessary ministerial changes as soon as possible for approval in the House of Representatives. "

Anti-government demonstration in Baghdad
Baghdad: «Middle East Online»
The death toll from the Iraqi protests that began on Tuesday rose to 73, most of them demonstrators, while about 3,000 were injured, the parliamentary Human Rights Commission said on Saturday.

The death toll includes at least six policemen killed in clashes between anti-government demonstrators and security forces in Baghdad and several areas in the south of the country, according to medical and police sources.

Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Adel Abdul-Mahdi chaired a meeting of security leaders at the Federal Police Headquarters in the presence of the Ministers of Defense and Interior, Najah Al-Shammari and Yassin Al-Yasiri. The meeting discussed recent developments in the demonstrations.

There were violent clashes on Friday between demonstrators and riot police in Baghdad.

For the first time, security forces accused “unidentified snipers” of shooting at demonstrators and security personnel in Baghdad, and rejected accusations of excessive use of force by human rights organizations.

After being activated since Wednesday evening, Abdul Mahdi ordered Friday night to lift the curfew from five o'clock in the morning (local time), because of the necessities and requirements of citizens in their daily lives, according to the Iraqi News Agency.

The follow-up cell in the Prime Minister's Office said it was communicating with "influential parties" in the mass movement in six provinces, which it did not specify, and there was "an agreement to meet the legitimate demands" without further details.

Since Tuesday, authorities have accused Mendesin of infiltrating the demonstrations and causing deaths.

The protest began with calls on social media to demonstrate against corruption and unemployment, the collapse of public services and chronic shortages of electricity and drinking water.

In the meantime, Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed Halbousi, in support of the demonstrators, saying: «Your voice arrived, your message has arrived», adding: «If I do not see the state is heading to meet the aspirations of the people and give hope in them, I will remove my jacket and find me the first person among the demonstrators ». He called on protesters to come to parliament.

Shiite leader Moqtada al-Sadr called on Friday evening for the resignation of the Iraqi government headed by Adel Abdul-Mahdi and the holding of early elections under the supervision of the United Nations, amid the escalation of demonstrations.

The unprecedented protests, due to their spontaneous nature in a country accustomed to partisan, tribal and sectarian movements, represent the first test of Abdul Mahdi's government, which took office a year ago and demanded more time on Wednesday evening.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has urged the government to conduct an "urgent" and "transparent" investigation into the deaths of demonstrators.

Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief Adel Abdul Mahdi chaired on Saturday a meeting of security leaders at the Federal Police Headquarters in the presence of Defense and Interior Ministers Najah al-Shammari and Yassin al-Yasiri.

According to Alsumaria News, the meeting discussed the latest developments of the demonstrations in the capital Baghdad and a number of provinces.

The Iraqi Prime Minister had announced a curfew in Baghdad, but he ordered to lift it starting at five dawn on Saturday, for the necessities and requirements of citizens in their daily lives.

Iraq has been witnessing violent protests since Tuesday, which began from Baghdad to demand better public services and job opportunities and fight corruption, before spreading to the provinces in the Shiite majority in the south.

Iraqis have long protested against poor basic public services such as electricity, health and water, as well as unemployment and corruption.

Iran's Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs and Chairman of the Committee of Forty Husseini Hussein Zulfiqari announced that the Khosravi border crossing with Iraq will be reopened on Friday.
"The Khosravi outlet with Iraq will be opened on Friday as the Iraqi authorities have informed us," Zulfiqari told Iranian television on Thursday evening.
The port of Khosravi was closed on Thursday morning due to the widening of protests and clashes between security forces and demonstrators in many Iraqi provinces.

Iran expects some 3.5 million Iranians to participate in the 40th visit scheduled for October 20.

On September 6, the Khosravi outlet was opened between Iran and Iraq after six years of closure due to the security situation in Iraq.

British newspapers published Friday the protests in Iraq.
The newspaper A, in a report to Patrick Coburn from Baghdad, entitled "rising death toll as protesters defy curfew."
The writer says that Iraq is on the brink of a mass popular uprising the government is seeking to put down by resolute implementation of a curfew for indefinite and indefinite Internet blackout. The protests, which were met with a ferocious response from the authorities, shook Baghdad and spread since Tuesday to the southern areas of the country.
Restricting the Internet has not prevented the demonstrators from going out, but it has made them less organized and less concentrated in areas far from central Baghdad, the writer says.
Demonstrators in Sadr City, a predominantly Shiite area east of Baghdad, attacked the headquarters of the municipal administration and set fire to the headquarters of the Dawa Party. Doctors say about 600 people were injured yesterday, most of them by rubber bullets fired at the neck and chest.
The writer says that most of the demonstrators are under the age of twenty, and therefore do not remember the time before the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003. He says that the demonstrations have no specific leadership, and this means that the government does not find anyone to talk to it if they wish?
Moqtada al-Sadr, a cleric whose followers played a role in protests in previous years, said in a tweet that he supported the protests, but "did not want them to be politicized" and that he did not directly invite his followers to participate.

Wissm al-Okili, REUTERS | A demonstrator runs between burning tires during a curfew in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on October 3, 2019.

Iraqi security forces used live ammunition and tear gas against some 4,000 protesters who defied a curfew in Baghdad and clashed with riot police across the south on Thursday, the third day of mass rallies that have left at least 27 dead.

Defying curfews, tear gas and live rounds, thousands of demonstrators gathered across the country to vent anger over corruption, unemployment and poor services in the biggest challenge yet to Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi.

The embattled premier made a televised speech early Friday as heavy gunfire rang out across Baghdad, saying there was no “magic solution” to Iraq’s chronic governance problems and graft but pledging to try to pass a law granting poor families a basic income.

In his first public address since protests began, Abdul Mahdi said the security measures imposed in the wake of this week’s violence, including the temporary curfew, were “difficult choices” but were needed like “bitter medicine” that has to be swallowed.

Nidal lived the epic of modern times. His march of independence in the twentieth century began with the face of the British Mandate, which began not at the end of World War I, but with the outbreak.

After the outbreak of the war in 1914 and the Ottomans' alliance with Germany against the European allies led by Britain, France and Tsarist Russia, Britain's strategic transport links with its colonies were cut off. .

The occupation of Iraq was among a number of goals sought by Britain. After the end of the occupation of Iraq, it was placed under the mandate of the League of Nations and under the British administration in 1918. From the date of the mandate, until the Declaration of Independence on October 3, 1932, the people of Iraq embarked on a journey of struggle and struggle to regain full freedom.

This remarkable struggle was manifested in the 20th Revolution against the British occupation and against the policy of "looting" Iraq, which aimed at annexing it to the British Empire. The revolution was one of the most prominent uprisings in the Arab world, which took place after Britain renounced its promises to the Arabs.

10-5-2019   Newshound Guru Kaperoni   These Iraqi protests have gone on now for several days. This is not what we as investors want to see happen.  Delays in reform and investment will be the result. Not good...They need to get investment and companies to come in and put people to work, that is what will raise the value of the currency.
10-4-2019  Intel Guru MilitiaMan  ...The CBI on the 10/01/2019 has since been in extensive research, preparation and coordination to go live globally! They have the ability of global distribution now from the looks of it...All is good for us and those looking for a bright future in Iraq...So let's see if the saturation and distribution gets out to the citizens this weekend or there real close.  The 15th is not far off. Lots of things line up on that date.. As in the 2020 Budget, citizens demands, China Taxes and Tariffs with the USA, etc.  ~ imo ~ MM

10-4-2019   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat   [Guru] Frank26 says 12 large armored trucks traveling to banks seen...I want everyone to know these trucks are NOT filled with the smaller of the smaller category notes. They are the promised 250, 500 and 1000 dinar notes...the CBI needed to replace these notes. These are now the replacement notes. So this has NOTHING to do with the RV... [Reference Frank26 10-3-2019]

10-4-2019   Newshound Guru Bloodloch   [reference sandyf post 10-3-2019]    "The CBI has an IQD denominated liability in respect of the currency that has been issued. This liability is underpinned by assets but the bulk of the assets are foreign currency denominated. If the IQD were to rise in value the liability would increase but the asset value would remain the same. There is only about 8% equity in the CBI accounts so it would not take much of a rise in the value of the IQD for the CBI to be bankrupt."  Companies, institutions, central banks, and everyone else on planet Earth use a single valuation unit to record and report their assets, liabilities, and equities, said unit usually being their respective national currency.  In the case of the CBI financials, it is all valued in Iraqi Dinars, period. All the assets. All the liabilities. All the equities. All IQD.

This is all fantastic news. How can they go much longer without having a rate to trade on FOREX?...

Intel Guru MarkZ   [via PDK]   We were hoping we wouldn’t see you today...and you were in NDA land.   I am not under an NDA yet…Noone really knows what the rate is going to be...just plan for higher and lower rates... If anything big happens I will be sure to update you this weekend…

10-4-2019   Newshound Guru Jeff    ...What is the rate change waiting on What steps does the rate change need for the rate change to occur?  ...(Things shared with you are not set in stone)...they still have to get the money ready to go and the money has to be allocated and be ready to be dispersed.  Those steps have to come from a budget...the 2020 budget is linked to the rate change big time.  It's got a lot of financial allocations and monies...items that pertain strongly to the rate change.  So they have to complete the budget before the rate can change.  It's that simple...that's the reason I've been telling you that the rate cannot change this year.  It's because they have to finish and approve and complete the 2020 budget which will roll into next year.

10/4/2019 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat "IRAQ: DEMONSTRATIONS OVER UNEMPLOYMENT, CORRUPTION AND POOR PUBLIC SERVICES." ...they were demanding currency reform. .
The protestors actually do have this on their list of demands. This is all VERY good for us and our investment. A government like the GOI can’t keep making these promises to the people and then do nothing. Eventually the people will rise up and do something to get what was promised...is the GOI going to meet the demands? We know one of them is the currency reform. The demonstrators gave them 15 days to meet the demands.
