Reopening of Umm Qasr Port

Security forces reopened the country's main port after forcibly dispersing protesters blocking its entrance on Friday, port officials said.
The sources told Reuters that the staff managed to enter the port near Basra, which was closed by demonstrators since Monday, but operations have not resumed yet.
Operations in Umm Qasr ceased from 29 October to 9 November with a brief resumption between 7 and 9 November.

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - People who eat more fiber and yogurt may be less likely to develop lung cancer, even if they smoke, than those who do not consume many of these foods, according to an important research review.
The researchers studied data from 10 previous studies involving about 1.45 million adults in Asia, Europe and the United States. After an average 8.6-year follow-up, 18,822 cases of lung cancer were documented.
Compared to those who never ate yogurt, those who consumed the most were 19 percent less likely to develop lung cancer.
Those who ate the most dietary fiber were 17 percent less likely to develop lung cancer, the researchers report in the Journal of the American Medical Oncology Society.
Those who ate the most fiber and the highest amount of milk had 33 percent less lung cancer than those who ate the least.
"Our study suggests a potential new health benefit for increasing fiber and milk in food in the prevention of lung cancer," Dr. Xiao Oshou of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, and colleagues wrote in the research.
The link between the lower risk of lung cancer and the consumption of more fiber and milk remained even after the researchers monitored smoking habits.
The study found that those who had never smoked were 31 percent less likely to develop lung cancer when consuming the highest amount of fiber and milk, compared with 24 percent in smokers and 34 percent in former smokers.
