Editing Date: 12/15/2019 10:45  111 times read

{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The deputy of the Alliance of Saireon al-Shammari affirmed that 16 years after the fall of the previous regime and the start of the current political process, the country is now facing a historic turning point.
Al-Shammari said in a press statement that "the people, through their current demonstrations and ongoing sit-ins, seemed to say out loud that they did not wish to repeat the building of the government according to quotas and to rotate the hatch of faces and personalities."
Al-Shammari added that "the peaceful demonstrators expressing the hopes and aspirations of the people from one end to the other will not return without achieving what they went out for, by building a new Iraq based on national bases, ending the flabby construction based on political and sectarian quotas."
He stressed "the necessity for the President of the Republic, the sponsor of the constitution, to be responsible, to listen to the voice of the street and open the door wide for those representing peaceful demonstrators in and positive response to their desire for an independent prime minister who was never a party to the current political process based on known principles rejected by them for A better future for everyone. Baghdad / news

The President of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, sent a message to President of the Republic Barham Salih regarding the formation of the next government.

In his letter to Saleh, Allawi stressed, according to a statement of his office, Al-Akhbaria received a copy of it that "the next government should be a mini-government that does not exceed one year and does not run for elections, preparing for fair and transparent elections with a new election law."

Allawi called in his private message to "accelerate in finding a solution to the current crisis, as he made four proposals that would find appropriate solutions to get out of the current crisis and reach the conditions to the desired stability situation, when a permanent government takes over the outputs of the economy and increases job opportunities and completes the referral of spoilers and those involved in Peaceful Iraqis were killed by the judiciary in public trials. "

Iraqi demonstrators are calling for the selection of a prime minister from the scene of the sit-in

The demonstrators of Iraq demanded that no candidate be nominated to form the new government proposed by the political parties and forces in the country, and they confirmed that they would soon announce the name of a candidate from the middle of the demonstrations and sit-ins, while the Parliamentary Bloc of Al-Rafidain called for peaceful demonstrators to withdraw from the demonstration squares for a week or two of In order to "sort the infiltrators."
A press statement distributed in Baghdad’s Tahrir Square yesterday, and read out through loudspeakers, said: “We call on the Iraqi President, Barham Saleh, in the name of all Iraqis and the sit-in squares in all the provinces that rise to deny nomination of any candidate offered by political parties and forces, and to align themselves with the street and hear his opinion with the candidates and take into consideration Mind the specifications.
The statement added: "We confirm our ability to nominate those we see that meet our aspirations and fulfill our aspirations, and that is appropriate for the next stage and advance our reality. We have also informed the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations that the name of our candidate be launched close to the center of demonstrations and sit-ins."
Blocs and parties, represented by the Al-Fateh Alliance in the Iraqi parliament, the second largest bloc in the Iraqi parliament, are seeking to put the name of Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani, a leader in the Islamic Dawa party led by Nuri al-Maliki, to fill the position, which is rejected by the "Saeron" bloc led by Muqtada al-Sadr and the demonstrators, in addition to that The Shiite authority had previously requested the candidacy of a person who had not held any government post after 2003.
Yesterday, the deputy of the "Sadikon" coalition, Hassan Salem, confirmed that the news of assigning the "Sudanese" as prime minister are media leaks only, explaining that there is as yet no official decision to do so.
Al-Sudani’s name began to circulate heavily on communication sites and the media as a candidate for the administration of the Iraqi government, following the resignation of Adel Abdul Mahdi, who is still managing matters in the form of business conduct.
And the trend of victory, wisdom and Sunni currents opposes the nomination of a candidate from within the political process to fill the position of prime minister, and they prefer a candidate that is consistent with the proposals of the protesters. Or a government that completes the term of the resigning government.
The 15-day deadline is nearing the end under which the Iraqi President, Barham Salih, can constitutionally appoint a candidate to form a government according to the Iraqi constitution, as the deadline will end at midnight tomorrow.
Protesters suggested that the coming hours could witness the announcement of a personal nomination from inside the demonstration and sit-in arenas for the position of head of an interim government that runs the country for a period of six months working on preparing a new election law.
For its part, the Rafidain Parliamentary Bloc called on peaceful demonstrators to withdraw from the pretending arenas for a week or two in order to "sort the entrenched" and return peacefully after that period, indicating the "seriousness" of Parliament and political forces in carrying out reforms and meeting demands.
The head of the bloc, Representative Yonadam Kanna, said, "Parliament and political forces are serious in trying to make reforms and meet popular demands, among which is the selection of a person to occupy the position of prime minister that meets the national specifications."
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Iran, warned of a "decisive response" if US interests were harmed in Iraq after a series of missile attacks on military bases.
"We must seize this opportunity to remind Iran's leaders that any attacks on their side or their representatives of any identity are detrimental to the Americans, our allies, or our interests, and they will be answered decisively," Pompeo said in a statement.
He added: "Iran must respect the sovereignty of its neighbors, and stop immediately supporting third parties in Iraq and throughout the region."
This warning comes after 10 missile attacks since October 28, targeting military bases sheltering American soldiers or American diplomatic missions in Iraq, including the United States embassy in the heavily fortified Green Zone in the capital Baghdad, the last of which was launched last weekend at a complex that includes American soldiers near Baghdad International Airport. The US Secretary of State attributed the attacks, which no one has claimed responsibility for, to "Iran's agents", expressing his hope for "the speedy and complete recovery of the brave Iraqi soldiers who were wounded in the attacks."

Our embassy in Baghdad invited Kuwaitis to leave Iraq
15/12/2019
Baghdad - "KUNA": The Kuwaiti embassy in Baghdad renewed its invitation to Kuwaiti citizens not to travel to Iraq at the present time, and also called those present there to leave immediately, in order to preserve their security and safety in light of the conditions currently witnessed by Iraq. The embassy confirmed in a statement, "KUNA" obtained a copy yesterday, Friday, the need to adhere to and abide by the laws in Iraq that prohibit sniping (hunting) in all Iraqi territories, noting that violating those laws falls under the penalty of "up to the prison." She hoped that "security and stability will prevail throughout Iraq." Iraq has been witnessing protests for more than 40 days to demand better services, job opportunities, the dismissal of the government, the amendment of the constitution, and the approval of a new election law that ends the dominance of large political blocs in parliament.

Al-Jadri {for Al-Furat News} said that “the recent tweet of the head of the National Wisdom Movement, Mr. Ammar Al-Hakim, confirms and strengthens the constants in the subject of choosing the next prime minister and with the people's choices as the main player who adds to the political process and out of the crisis.”

Al-Jadri added, "Managing the country properly is everyone's responsibility and needs full support from north to south."
Regarding the vote on the new election law, Al-Jadri said, "Matters will be released in the law for the next two days, as the parliamentary legal committee will place parliament in two options {multiple districts} and {individual districts in light of the population}.”
Al-Jadri concluded by saying that "by returning to the experts participating in the parliament sessions, they will lead to effective and important solutions in the issue of voting on the law, and we are in wisdom still trying to obtain the support of political forces by going to the individual constituencies."

The head of the opposition "National Wisdom Stream" in Iraq, Ammar Al-Hakim, announced his progress in a road map to meet the demands of the demonstrators, stressing his support for any candidate to head the government agreed upon by the Iraqis.
In a statement published today, Saturday, on his official account on Twitter, Hakim said: “Since we adopted the constructive opposition option, we continue and urge the rest of the powers to consolidate the foundations of the political system, evaluate its positives, and diagnose and remedy its negatives.”
He added: "Also today, and based on this, we clearly announce that we are with the choice of our people on the issue of a person and the characteristics of the prospective prime minister to form the transitional government."
Al-Hakim continued: "We confirm the absence of any candidate from us for this task and position, and we will support everyone who agrees on the word Iraqis in order to advance the reality of the current stage, and prepare for early elections to implement the demands of peaceful demonstrators."
In another statement published earlier on Saturday, al-Hakim announced a road map to meet the demands of the protesters, which consisted of 3 points.
He explained that the first point is to "accelerate the selection of an independent prime minister who enjoys popular acceptance, and the formation of a transitional government away from foreign interference", while the second point included "the enactment of a fair and just election law and the formation of an independent and fair commission."
He added that the third point lies in "preparing for early elections so that the people can exercise their constitutional role in choosing their representatives."
The Iraqi capital, Baghdad, and the southern provinces of the country, including Najaf, are witnessing since the beginning of last October, massive protests against the deterioration of living conditions and growing unemployment and corruption, which have turned into continuous clashes between demonstrators and security men, killing more than 500 people and wounding about 15 thousand others, as protests continue The demand for tougher measures to fight corruption and improve economic conditions, which previously led, Adel Abdul Mahdi, to resign from his position as Prime Minister.

Who will succeed Abdul-Mahdi in managing Iraq’s affairs?
    02:00 Sunday 12/15/2019
An Iraqi government awaits a new and honest government not managed by the Iranian mullahs...
    The seven continents
    Nazem al-Rubaie - Baghdad

As a result of the growing public pressure and the ongoing demonstrations in Baghdad and nine other Iraqi governorates two months ago, Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi submitted the resignation of his government to the Iraqi parliament. This resignation sparked widespread controversy, as the prime minister submitted it to the presidency of the parliament based on the advice of the President of the Federal Supreme Court, while Legal experts believe that his resignation should be submitted exclusively to the President of the Republic, and in both cases his government has become a caretaker, and it has entered the country in the whirlpool of the search for a new Prime Minister.
    »Legal steps
Legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi said in a statement to a local newspaper that Abdul-Mahdi’s resignation must be presented to the President of the Republic according to Article (18) of the internal system of the Council of Ministers, and here the problem lies. After the “Saeron” bloc presented an official letter to the President of the Republic by giving up its right as a larger bloc In Parliament, a dispute arose between the blocs to determine who is the "oldest" to run for a new prime minister.
As leaks from within the parliament indicate that Al-Fateh, led by the head of the Badr Hadi al-Amiri organization, which is close to Iran and Soleimani's ally in Iraq, believes that the next prime minister should be an ally of the popular crowd, in a sign of her fear of being dissolved by the next prime minister, as he will become general commander For the army.
    »Political blocs
The writer Bassem Al-Sheikh says: Iran will not abandon its interests in Iraq, and it is in its interest that the new prime minister be subordinate to it, like the resigned Abdul-Mahdi, so Qasim Soleimani will press heavily on the Shiite and Sunni blocs linked to Tehran to do so.
Professor of political science at the University of Kufa, Iyad Anbar, considers that the political blocs are in a state of “political nausea” currently, and they are now without options in front of the protesting street, but they are forced to accept arranging the conditions for early elections in an attempt to stay as long as possible in the current parliamentary session .
    »File Resolution
For his part, political analyst Khaled Abdul-Ilah said: The Union of Sunni Forces has spoken clearly that the nomination must cross the quota barrier and sectarianism, and this has aroused the ire of some Shiite blocs that have begun to talk about the criterion of the political majority through which the selection is made. On the other hand, security expert Maan Al-Husseini confirms that the international community is pushing for the selection of a new, internationally acceptable prime minister who works away from Iran's influence.
So, we see that the political forces' wager on the time factor is a "loser", and the crowds will continue in the demonstration arenas until the inauguration of a new prime minister, but the important question that arises strongly remains, who will succeed Abdul Mahdi in managing Iraqi affairs? And who will install it?
