But one day very soon this is going to just come out and the OFAC sanctions will be lifted on Iraq. When? I keep listing out the issues that seem now plausible for Iraq to deal with. ...It is now all about getting rid of corruption and Iranian influence in Iraq politics. On Friday, the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq [UNAMI] condemned the "mob execution" of a young man in Al-Wathba Square, calling on the security authorities to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
In a statement today, the mission said, "The [UNAMI] condemns in the strongest terms the mob death row of a young man in Al-Wathba Square in Baghdad," stressing that "the matter is unacceptable and individuals cannot enforce the law with their hands and should hand over to any person who has been seen committing any criminal acts." The Ministry of Interior spokesman, Brigadier Khaled Al-Muhanna, confirmed today, Friday, that investigations are still ongoing regarding the crime of the Al-Wathba incident.

Al-Muhanna said in a press statement that "investigations are still ongoing regarding the crime of the Al-Wathba incident," noting that "no accused of the crime of Al-Wathba has been received or received so far, but the investigative procedures are continuing."
