Al-Kazemi receives the British ambassador and discusses with him support for the Iraqi economy and government reforms

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi received today, Tuesday, the British Ambassador in the capital, Baghdad, Stephen Hickey, while Al-Kazemi discussed with the latter the support of the Iraqi economy and government reforms.
The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received (Baghdad today), that “the meeting was discussed during the course of bilateral relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom, and ways to develop them, and to strengthen and enhance joint cooperation in various fields.”
 According to the statement, “the current situation, current developments in the region, issues of common concern, and security efforts to counter terrorism have been discussed in order to enhance security and stability in Iraq and the region, in addition to coordinating efforts with international organizations to support the Iraqi economy and government reforms in this field” .

Parliamentary law reveals the imminent birth of an important law

On Tuesday, the Parliamentary Law Committee revealed that the Federal Court Law was close to completion of the amendment.
Committee member Mohamed Al-Ghazzi said in a statement to "Information", that "the legal committee has completed the discussion on the Federal Court Law and the proposal sent by the Presidency of the Republic," noting that "the law was handed over to the Presidency of the Parliament for the purpose of gaining legislative status for it."
He added that "the law will be on the agenda of the House of Representatives during the sessions that will be held soon," noting that "the Federal Court Law is necessary to pass because it is related to the conduct of elections and its absence or its disruption negatively affects early elections."
And the Parliamentary Legal Committee confirmed, earlier, that the upcoming parliament sessions will be devoted to passing the Federal Budget Bill of 2020 and the Federal Court Law

The Secretariat of Ministers announces the suspension of official working hours next week

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announces, on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, the suspension of official working hours in government institutions during the coming week on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, coinciding with the high temperatures in the countries that exceeded the fifty-degree Celsius mark.
The General Secretariat indicates that the suspension of working hours will be in accordance with the holiday approved by the Supreme Committee for Health and National Safety “Combating the Corona Virus Pandemic”, which starts from next Thursday, July 30 and until the eighth day of next month.
The Supreme Committee for Health and National Safety decided to impose a comprehensive curfew on the days of Eid Al-Adha, provided that the ban would be reviewed after the Eid holiday, while obliging citizens to follow all preventive measures.

Germany confirms the desire of its companies to invest in Iraq


Yesterday, Tuesday, Planning Minister Khaled Battal Al-Najem discussed with the Charge d'Affairs at the German Embassy in Iraq, Peter Faten, the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two countries and a number of other files, including long-term strategic planning, support for liberated areas, administrative decentralization and private sector development. 
During his meeting with the two ministers, the Minister affirmed that, according to a statement by the Ministry, "Al-Zawra" received a copy of it, the importance of expanding cooperation and joint work in various fields between the two countries, noting the importance of developing long-term strategic planning in cooperation with the German side, calling on the German government to provide support to the liberated areas, especially areas The Nineveh Plain, Sinjar and Rabia Plain in the Nineveh Governorate and the district of Al-Qaim in Anbar and the Al-Multaqa district in Kirkuk, indicating that these areas still suffer a number of problems after the liberation of ISIS and they need to provide support in order to return their residents and restore stability to them.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Maher Hammad, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning for Technical Affairs, Director of the German Development Agency in Iraq, official of the economic file at the German Embassy in Iraq, and director of the program for supporting decentralization and local development in Iraq, Dr. Amer Gharawi.
