The president of the "Democratic Union" questions the success of the Constitutional Committee in the absence of self-management
Shahuz Hassan told Asharq Al-Awsat that Moscow supports the participation of representatives of the Syrian Council
Wednesday -- 17 July 2019 AD Issue Number [14841]
Shahouz Hassan (Middle East)
Qamishli (north-east of Syria): Kamal Cheikho
"We can not talk about the success of these talks," said Shahuz Hassan, the joint chairman of the Democratic Unionist Party, one of the main parties in the council that runs the north-eastern part of the Euphrates, without the participation of the representatives of the self-government in the political process and the consultations of the constitutional committee. Mini-coalition countries supported their participation, while the Russians repeatedly spoke about the absence of Kurdish representation and the need to involve representatives of the administration and «democratic Syria».
Here is the text of the conversation with Hassan in his office in the city of Qamishli:
Q: What is your assessment of the results of the UN envoy talks with the Syrian government and the opposition negotiating body?
- The components of north-eastern Syria fought terrorism and defeated the organization of the extremist advocate, and without its participation in the political process and the constitutional committee, can not talk about the success of these talks, the mini-group of the countries of the International Alliance supports the participation of representatives of "democratic Syria" and self-management. In the course of regular meetings between the representatives of the administration and the countries of the international coalition, led by the United States and France, everyone finds it necessary to participate in these negotiations, especially the Constitutional Committee. Even the Russians are talking about the absence of Kurdish representation in these talks and the need to involve them. And no real step to participate in this Committee.
> Who opposes your participation?
- The exclusion of Syrian Kurds from these talks and dialogues to form the constitutional committee is due to nationalistic and authoritarian nationalism. I mean Turkey and the Syrian regime. But if we want to achieve a sustainable peace and a real political solution that satisfies all parties, we must overcome this mentality because it is the root of the problem. The Kurds are all allied with all the components of the Arabs, Syriacs, Assyrians, Turkomans and Circassians, and all have fought to liberate these lands from the terror of the "Dahesh". Today they have formed a genuine democratic model through self-management. They must be represented in all the international talks on the Syrian crisis in the name of the democratic project Who represent him on earth.
> Representatives of the "Syrian Democratic Council" and Syrian opposition figures held a meeting in Paris to discuss the constitution, and there is a second meeting to be held in Vienna to discuss the basket of the constitution. Are these meetings at the request of the coalition countries or complementary to the meetings inside Syria?
- Paris meeting continued to be held at home this year, where we held 3 meetings between the opposition leaders who gathered parties, currents and opposition figures; twice in Ain Issa and the third in Kupobani (Ain Al Arab). We will hold a series of meetings and workshops in Western and Arab countries. A number of opposition, to achieve a common vision and expand political participation and democratic consensus.
At the Paris workshop, we discussed the constitution, governance and political system. There is a general tendency among the opposition forces to involve the representatives of self-government in north-eastern Syria and the participation of "democratic Syria" in the Geneva negotiations and in the constitutional committee.
[Asharq Al-Awsat] Have you received an invitation from the Negotiating Body to join it?
- We have not received an official invitation from the "Negotiating Body" to join or work under its umbrella, but we have heard through the media that there is a tendency to expand and join the "Syrian Democratic Council". We see the possibility of developing the Syrian-Syrian dialogue, which is a transitional necessity. This dialogue must be based on acceptance of the other and on a democratic basis that is far from national fanaticism or sectarian extremism. But let me be precise on this point. There are thorny issues between us and a part of the opposition. The Kurdish coalition is still occupied by factions that follow this coalition and practiced the policy of ethnic cleansing against our people there under the umbrella and protection of the Turkish army. Before talking about any accession or dialogue, confidence building measures and the removal of destructive policies must be strengthened. Which has changed The combination of Afrin residents.
What about your talks with Damascus?
- We are open to negotiations and dialogues, either with the regime or with all opposition parties without exception, but there are no real negotiations or talks between us and the regime. We are defending our modest capabilities from our regions. We have liberated them from terrorism. We are ready for dialogue. We are working for a decentralized democratic state. There is a real experience on the ground, self-management, and everyone must respect these sacrifices.
We are working to find a comprehensive and comprehensive political solution at the country level to ensure freedom and dignity, establish a decentralized democratic system, end decades of tyranny, totalitarianism and one-party, release all political detainees and reveal the fate of the abducted and forcibly disappeared. Syria must be on a real, realistic basis, not by betting on some field developments or media statements of major countries or simple tactical changes. Our approach to a political solution based on a democratic system is a strategic issue and a sustainable option. Whatever the relationship in all its forms and its ramifications.
> Do you demand that the areas of East Euphrates remain semi-independent?
For example, the path of Astana combines contradictory countries in the Syrian war, and each country supports factions and warring parties on the ground. Besides, there are contradictions between Russia and Turkey on the one hand, and Turkey and Iran on the other. , Which casts a shadow over the situation on the ground and what is happening in Idlib is the largest evidence of these contradictions and the absence of a real solution there. In the absence of real change on the ground and the stumbling of the political process, we will develop the model of self-management and protect the achievements of our people, who sacrificed in the fight against terrorism and the payment of thousands of sacrifices, and any political process must take into account the privacy of this region and its military forces. .
> Self-management received European and Western delegations and the convening of an international forum on «Dahesh» in the town of Amouda, is there an international trend to legitimize the experience of the administration?
Some countries have come to our region to legitimize and recognize the experience of the administration, and there are second countries that find the victory of the military forces on terrorism to protect the global security. Some countries came to repatriate their nationals from the women and children of the families of the organization members who are detained here. Most of the countries we visited recently are members of the international anti- Cheers.
Many countries have discussed in detail the fate of the prisoners of the organization and their families. There are discussions with representatives of the self-administration on the formation of an international tribunal on terrorism crimes here. This was the main point of the international forum and the trial of these on the basis of the crime in geographical location. Has a moral obligation to its citizens, and we asked them to work on building prisons and appropriate detention centers, and contribute to reconstruction and participate in pushing the economic wheel of cities and towns of northern and eastern Syria.
Q: What is the fate of prisoners who have been detained by the Syrian Democratic Forces and their families living in IDP camps in northeastern Syria?
- Hundreds of foreign fighters are in the administration's prisons, together with thousands of their family members, burdening the administration. We have also demanded that coalition countries shoulder their responsibilities and bring their citizens back to trial on their territory. With the reluctance of the majority of countries, they demanded the establishment of a special international court to try them in Syria.
The camps in north-east Syria house 12,000 foreigners; 4,000 women and 8,000 children from the families of these extremists live in their own heavily guarded sections. This number does not include Iraqis. These are a great burden on self-management, which calls on the countries concerned to take over their citizens.

"With the help of the Oslo police, Mullah Krikar was arrested last night under an international warrant and an Italian arrest warrant," the agency said on its Twitter account. He is presumed to be before a court to be placed in provisional custody. Mullah Krikar, 63, has been a refugee in Norway since 1991 and his real name is Najmuddin Faraj Ahmed, 59.
The Bolzano court in northern Italy handed a 12-year suspended sentence in absentia and sentenced five others to prison for several years. The hard-liner was convicted of leading a radical Kurdish network, Ansar al-Islam, which is linked to a "da'ash" organization and may have carried out attacks in Western countries. In response to a question by the French Press Agency after his conviction in Italy yesterday, his Norwegian lawyer said Mullah Krekar rejected the charges against him and "all appeal methods will be exhausted."
According to Italian prosecutors, Kricar, who was based in Norway, is the founder of Rauti Sachs, a European network aimed at overthrowing the Kurdistan government through violence.
His lawyer Marco Vernello said Crickar, who denied the charges, plans to appeal. In 2015, 15 Kurdish citizens were arrested by European authorities on terrorism-related charges.
"He has nothing to do with (his) sole aim is to return to Iraqi Kurdistan to engage in politics, as a free man," said Prinier Milling.
Krikar is a threat to Norway's national security and its name is listed on the United Nations and United States lists of terrorist persons. Since 2003 he has faced an expulsion order to Iraq but has never been implemented because there are no guarantees of his fate in Iraq where he could face the death penalty. He spent several years in Norwegian prisons on threats and calls for murder. He was imprisoned in 2016 at the request of Italy, but Rome recently abandoned his extradition request and was released quickly.

7-16-2019 Intel Guru MarkZ I am tired and weary but cautiously excited tonight. 2 excellent sources in Iraq think they will have their rate in the Gazette on Wednesday... On the treasury side they are saying it could happen tonight [Tuesday] ...another government source said anytime in the next 72 hours.
7-16-2019 Newshound Guru Kaperoni The guru's like to constantly state an increase in the value of the dinar will be some random overnight act. That will never happen. If the Iraqi dinar increases in value it will be based on sound monetary policy and the world's participation in rebuilding the country. 7-16-2019 Newshound Guru Enorrste ...They are not just hoping for a floating dinar, they are counting on it. The fact that the CBI has managed to raise its reserves is a clear indication that the float is imminent. Only with a strong currency can they take the risk of moving to a float. With 71 Billion in reserves they have about 175% coverage of their entire money supply in hard currency...Thus the dinar is one of the strongest currencies in the world despite its current low value. As the float begins the they will see the value of the dinar begin to rise. As it rises they will reduce the money supply with the goal of getting it down to 40 Billion dinar rather than 40 trillion dinar. Thus at one dollar per dinar (this is after the float has occurred) the CBI will still have 175% coverage of their money, meaning the dinar could easily get back to the $3.50 per dinar range which is their ultimate goal. Thus reducing somewhat their dependence on oil. This means dollar investment has in fact been coming in the country despite the fact that the dinar is not yet convertible on the international market...this is extremely good. Why? ...once the investors get a foothold in Iraq they will come in droves to make money...with the hopes...that they will be able to get their profits out the country in short order.
