We seek to pass the local elections law and set its date

"The committee is currently working with all its energy to pass the amendment of the local elections law," committee member Hussein al-Aqabi told the news agency.

"The law stipulates that it is not possible to set the date for local elections without amending the law in order to give the election commission sufficient opportunity to end the logistical preparations," he added.

"The legislative work is disappointing during the current session because the parliament is busy in ending the formation of the government and secondary crises without passing any other law except the financial budget."

Thursday 21 March

The deputy supreme religious authority, Ali al-Sistani, said on Wednesday that the problems of Iraq are not intended to be resolved after spending a lot of money on them, pointing out that there is a defect in the intellectual system of those who address the building of the country.

"We do not give our scientists and professors in the natural sciences the required care, but we do not listen to them at all," said Ahmed al-Safi in a speech at the opening of the conference and the second exhibition of inventions, which is hosted by the Abbasid threshold in Karbala.

He added that "we have a problem go right and north, east and west and try to seek solutions, although we cost large amounts of money, although solutions may be in our doors, and some solutions may be free, but the usual ideas of the people and their tongues.

Al-Safi added: "We are looking for solutions from outside our system as a country and we have encountered many problems. Until now, whenever we present a problem, we do not think that it will be solved by the people of the country, but we will divide the right and the north in public and resolve the solution.

He pointed out that "there are real problems on the side of water and agriculture and even in our defense systems there are problems, and we have problems in many technology issues," noting that "we spend a lot of money and the problem is left for Zaid and Amr and leave the solution to the real problem and I have a solution under the laboratories under my hands Morning or evening".

Al-Safi said that "the solution if it is really the focus of dazzle and from the people of our country we will take him in a state of self-deprecation," explaining that "this equation I have not understood .. I found only in Iraq ... All countries of the world before going out of her in search of The solution is looking for him in the country, and after you can not go to others and make many conditions, but we are not listening to the other and does not want to listen and does not like to listen, we look forward to others and leave our dearest and brothers and inventors.

Al-Safi asked: "It is unreasonable that I am draining the country's wealth for solutions that may come and may not come as a result. The solutions are in front of me and I turn a blind eye to them. What is the justification?" He added: "The people of the country all over the world have good seats in all countries. Your hand on the invention and discovery or a solid hand you will find that behind them an Iraqi. "

He pointed out that "when you come to the country you find this great disaster," stressing that "the inventor not to despair and not to be frustrated, but to remain thinking, if now there are some who do not understand or appreciate it may tomorrow be a child of those who appreciate and understand."

Al-Safi stressed that "we must not despair and remain working and discover and invent, and the country generally adopted from this way, the way to insist on staying and insist on searching for good and insistence on discovery," noting that "we have seen some inventions, which strengthens many industries and costs very cheap, Exposed to one of the officials see it folds and goes to others, and spend a great deal of money, is only underestimating the people of the country.

Reason behind forming 'Shiite Liberation Army'

Thursday، 21 March 2019 12:04 AM
The rare meeting of the Chiefs of Staff of the armies of Iran, Iraq and Syria has introduced many controversial decisions, including the formation of the Shiite Liberation Army, with the aim of liberating Jerusalem and abolishing the borders between the three countries.

According to observers, the declared goals represent only Iranian dictates that aim at strengthening the Iranian influence in Syria and Iraq under the pretext of the liberation of Jerusalem.

Iraqi-Iranian gangs
While the Iraqi government has expressed the country's need for the US troops tasked with fighting ISIS in Iraq, Iraqi Army Chief of Staff Othman al-Ghanimi met with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Bagheri and Syrian Defense Minister Ali Abdullah Ayoub to discuss opposition to the US role in Syria on Monday.

They stressed that the declaration of forming this army, is basically a declaration of some Iraqi-Iranian-Syrian gangs that consist of 200,000 mercenaries, revealed by Iran's Mohammad Ali Jafari, the commander-in-chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, last week.

Iraq has announced plans to reopen a strategic border crossing with Syria in the coming days, a military official said. The announcement came during the meeting.

During a press conference, Othman al-Ghanimi, Iraqi Army Chief of Staff, said “the coming days will witness the opening of the border crossing and the continuation of visits and trade between the two countries."

In 2013, the Al-Qaim border was closed to support Iraqi security forces in combating al-Qaeda fighters and later ISIS. The border crossing is expected to increase the flow of goods from Iran to Syria.

According to the Iraqi Defense Ministry, the meeting in Damascus focused “on countering terrorism and sustaining stability in the region."

According to observers, the meeting triggered US concerns of Iran’s growing influence in the region.

In what Iranian media called a “tripartite” meeting, the three held a joint press conference in Damascus. It is the latest visible sign of an Iran-Iraq-Syria entente that will aid Iran’s ambitions in the region and comes on the heels of a visit by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Iraq.

"The Iraqi government is not bound by the US sanctions imposed against the Islamic Republic of Iran," Salem said in a statement.

"The extension of the period of exemption of Iraq from these sanctions is a way to save the face of Washington, which failed in the sanctions against Tehran."

"Iraq is not bound by Washington's economic sanctions against Tehran because it has an ideological and borderline link with Iran that can not be dispensed with," he said. "Washington has failed to push Tehran through its economic sanctions."

Salem added that "the Iraqi government has not complied with Washington's sanctions against Iran at all because it is one-sided and seeks to starve the peoples."

Improving economy should be focus, not presidency law: New Generation MP

Iraq, March 21, 2019

SULAIMANI – Deputy of the New Generation Movement caucus in Kurdistan Parliament Kawa Abdulqadir said on Tuesday (March 19) that the legislature’s priorities should be rebuilding infrastructure and improving the economy, not amending the presidency law.

Our caucus has prepared draft laws [about the economy] and will offer them to the Kurdistan parliament’s presidency in the coming week,” Abdulqadir said during a press conference.

Referring to the Kurdistan Democratic Party and its leadership, the New Generation lawmaker argued that the Kurdistan presidency law should not be amended according to the whim of one party or person.

We have prepared a draft for electing the Kurdistan Region’s president within the parliament and it will be offered to the parliament’s presidency in the coming week,” Abdulqadir said.

New Generation’s stance regarding the matter is that the Region’s president should be elected in parliament and like [the Iraqi presidency] be limited to 10 symbolic authorities,” he added.

Abdulqadir said that during the last parliament the late Gorran leader Nawishirwan Mustafa had proposed a similar plan and that the proposal had received cross-party support at the time.

Therefore, we hope those four parties, including Gorran, have retained those same principles,” he concluded

Iraq Ranked 3rd in Global List for Increased Refinery Capacity

Iraq's capacity of refinery CDU to be boosted over the next 4 years as a result of numerous new build and refurbishment projects
Iraq, March 21, 2019

According to a report by GlobalData, Iraq has been ranked as the country with the third highest growth in capacity of refinery crude distillation unit (CDU) as a result of numerous new and ongoing projects up until 2023.

The GlobalData report had China as the global leader for refinery increases with the country projected to add 4,000 million barrels per day (bpd) of refining capacity by 2023, with Nigeria second at 2,039 million bpd and Iraq third at 1,470 million bpd over the same period.

With Iraq's current refining capacity unable to support its crude oil production, an increase in crude distillation capacity is vital for the country to meet its goal to become self sufficient in oil products, whilst supporting an increase in exports of petroleum products to boost its economy.

3-20-2019   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat    Also I want to remind you that...parliament passed the law to allow more independency in the CBI, not that legally they don’t already have it. But when the GOI keeps holding them back, they needed this law to get over all this corruption.  After reading this article I really think that parliament is going to go over the PM and get it done with the CBI. So I would consider this one of those WOW! articles.   [post 2 of 2]

3-20-2019   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat   I need everyone to take a deep breath and hold on to your seats. We...have one article in particular that is simply amazing and warrants getting the champagne back in the frig. It is one of these “WOW!” articles. We have not had this kind of news in a very long time...   Article:  "PARLIAMENTARY FINANCE COMMITTEE IS DEVELOPING MECHANISMS TO CHANGE THE COUNTRY'S FISCAL AND MONETARY POLICIES IN COORDINATION WITH THE CENTRAL BANK OF IRAQ"   So here is it in black and white, the news of the RV we have been waiting for in anticipation...Just like I told you... It will all surface when they are ready to do it.  Now they are ready.  [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

3-20-2019   Intel Guru MarkZ   There is a whole lot breaking loose right now...If things roll out today like we think they might…maybe we will see 800’s by Thursday or Friday.  ...My Contact in Iraq expects the rate on Saturday......  [DO YOU FEEL...That Provided Iraq DOES POST the New Rate in their Paper on Saturday, that it could STILL BE 10 DAYS...BEFORE THE REST OF US CAN EXCHANGE CURRENCIES...?]  I think it will be instant all around the world….It would be easiest for them to post the rates on Saturday and  then we all get started…we will have to wait and see what happens.

3-20-2019   Intel Guru Bruce  A lot of things have come in here the last few days. ...We know Iraq is basically complete with everything they were supposed to do. We know on the screens today that the Dinar was fluctuating... ...Rates have been adjusting upward...they are still adjusting...We are expecting the Dong to be pretty close to $7 or more on the front screen...The Dinar will be good. It will be higher obviously. Maybe not a whole lot higher though not initially. I think it will climb after it is brought out and after it has been traded more than it has so far.  ...We are about to embark on I think some major things happening...we are looking at the possibility of things happening by Thursday for us...We got a lot to look forward to the next couple of days. I really believe we are on our way.
3-20-2019   Intel Guru Frank26   SOMETHING HAPPENED TODAY AND OUR NEWSHOUNDS ARE BRINGING IT TO YOU...IT IS VERY SIGNIFICANT.  Article:  "Parliamentary move to raise the price of the dinar and maintain the stability of inflation" Quotes:  "The Parliamentary Finance Committee is moving in the current legislative session to develop mechanisms to change the monetary and monetary policies in the country, in coordination with the Central Bank of Iraq, aimed at raising the dinar exchange rate and maintaining the stability of inflation.";    "the change will raise the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar against foreign currencies while maintaining the stability of inflation In the country".

3-20-2019 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat Article: "THE PAPER AND METAL CURRENCY AFTER 2003, WHICH DID NOT SUCCEED IN TRADING AND WAS CANCELED" I would consider this an early phase of educating the citizens about the currency. Remember that in 2015 coming close to January 2016, the CBI told us they wanted launch the 100 coins but later decided not to. ...I believe they are getting ready to launch these 25, 50 and 100 very soon and are telling the citizens to watch out for the “cancelled” 50 dinar notes from 2003 no longer valid and that here are the pictures of the coins that are valid and coming soon. This is PERFECT too since we know that are going to slowly launch these smaller categories as the market dictates...
