5-12-2019 Newshound Guru Kaperoni Floating the currency is not a requirement but with the influx of capital expected through Iraq's banking system it will create inflationary pressure. If they don't float inflation will start to rise throughout Iraq. Floating the currency is a tool the CBI uses to counter inflation.

5-11-2019 Newshound Guru MilitiaMan This reform is not just about us, it is about effecting the lives of not only millions of people but, billions of people! imo. Everyone knows Iraq is ready now. It is imo go time now. The King of Saudi Arabia, imo gave his blessing to have the Iraq Trade Bank be the first International Trade bank for Iraq to show case on his soil. I highly doubt that they miss that time line. Big money doesn't like to wait long. They would most likely also like to see stability with the Iraq Monetary reforms prior to the opening of said international branch. I don't believe in what I see they have any intentions of being late to the party. Alak has the keys to the AMF. Lets see what happens with the trade deal in the short term while we watch the next move. [post 2 of 2]

Washington calls on the Kurdistan region to sever its relations with Iran
Washington - May 11 - The United States has once again called on the authorities in Iraq's Kurdistan region to break political and economic ties with Iran as part of a US-led campaign against Iran's destabilizing regime.
The official Iranian agency "IRNA", quoting Iraqi sources, that the Deputy Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs David Satterfield visited, last Thursday, the Kurdistan region, and conveyed the message of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Kurdish officials.
The sources added that "the US letter was demanding the authorities in the Kurdistan region to sever political and commercial relations with Iran," noting that "David Satterfield briefed officials of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, including the leader of the Democratic Party Massoud Barzani, Deputy Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan , Kusrat Rasul, and Qabad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan region, the American message on Iran.
"The Iraqi Kurds must determine their position and put an end to trade and political cooperation with Iran, otherwise their interests will be in danger, especially as the United States funds and provides military and financial support to the Kurdish Peshmerga forces," the letter says.
At the same time, the source also said: "Iraqi Kurdish leaders are now struggling because Iran has a very large impact on Iraqi Kurdistan, because of its close relationship with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in Sulaymaniyah and Halabja."
The United States continues to pressure the Iraqi authorities in Baghdad and Erbil for months to sever relations with Iran.

Tamimi: This is what remains of the budget, which became vulnerable to fluctuations in oil prices
BAGHDAD, May 11 (Xinhua) - The Parliamentary Finance Committee on Saturday blew up a surprise of the high caliber when it revealed that "the current budget ratio reached 95.7% and the salary ratio was 65.9%, which is very high, The investment budget is 4.2%, while the proportion of oil revenues 94.5% compared to 5.4% for non-oil revenues, which means modest non-oil revenues, which makes the funding of the budget vulnerable to fluctuations resulting from the change in oil prices.
Majida al-Tamimi, member of the committee, stressed the need for a comprehensive review of the laws that were legislated after 2003 to reconsider the fair distribution of incomes as well as activating and supporting the private sector and creating the suitable environment for its development and supporting the ministerial platform of the government, which stressed the encouragement and stimulation of the investment environment in all sectors, "Adding that" the value of the remaining balance of total income and the balance of the first period and after the financing of current and investment budgets amounted to 16.08 trillion dinars. "
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Finance followed with interest the statements of MP Ali al-Sagri on the charges addressed to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and Planning and asked the MP to submit documents and evidence on his claim to the regulatory and legal bodies such as the Supreme Council of Corruption or the Integrity Commission or the Minister of Finance to be verified and follow the proper legal and administrative ways , And otherwise, the introduction of such topics in the media without clear evidence is a disgrace and condescension rejected by the ministry.
