"We as the security forces spare no efforts, day and night, to protect the security of the foreign diplomatic representatives and we will continue to protect the security of people of Iraq and Iraqi territories," Rasool added.
Concerning the deteriorated ties between the US and Iran and the latest tensions in Iraq, the spokesperson pointed out that, despite the fact that there is a crisis in the region, there are also positive statements from the two countries towards mutual understandings.

Targeting US Embassy in Baghdad

The targeting of the US Embassy in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the night before yesterday, by Katyusha rocket, did not lead to any injury or any specific goal, while the US reaction was limited to a statement on the incident, and Iraqi allies rushed to Iran to condemn the attack, and stressed that the outbreak of war between Tehran and Washington will harm Baghdad and the whole region.
A US State Department official said no one had claimed responsibility for the attack so far. "But we take this incident very seriously. "We will hold Iran accountable if the militia forces acting as its agent or elements of these forces carry out any such attacks and we will respond to Iran accordingly."
A military expert said in a statement to the «statement», that the process «not professional», and may have another goal, except provocation the American side. Former Iraqi Army Brigadier General Rafa al-Saab told the statement that any "professional" side would have been able to hit a target at the US embassy, considering that the Katyusha rocket is limited in effect, .
Provocation
The hard Brigadier suggested that the incident would be merely a provocative operation aimed at sparking the war, or taking the pulse of reactions from the American side, the armed factions and the Iraqi political forces.
A statement issued by the US Central Command that «explosions that occurred near the US Embassy in Baghdad, on Sunday evening, did not lead to the injury of any one of its forces and international coalition forces, was identified as an explosion near the building of the US Embassy in Baghdad, did not lead to casualties Between the US military or members of the coalition forces, and that the Iraqi security forces are conducting investigations into the circumstances of the incident ».

A serious pause
"I'm not fueling the war between Iran and America, and I'm not pushing Iraq into this war and making it a battlefield for the Iranian-American conflict," Sadr said in a tweet on Twitter. He added: "We need a serious pause from the senior people to keep Iraq away from that fierce war that will eat the green and land and make it a pillar." He added that "we need to raise the Iraqi people's voice condemning the war and Iraq's confusion."
"If Iraq does not stand a serious one, then that war will be the end of Iraq if it happens, and I am sorry to be warned," said Sadr, who previously threatened several times to target the US presence.
Enough war
"Neither Iraq nor its people bear another war. We need peace and reconstruction." He stressed that «any party that infuses Iraq by war and makes it a battlefield to be an enemy of the Iraqi people». "A war is enough," he concluded.
A worrying attack
German Foreign Minister Haikou Mas described the missile attack on Baghdad's Green Zone as "very worrying." "We believe that tensions are so high that it is possible to escalate violence through unexpected events, attacks and attacks," Mas said in Sofia. He declined to assess the recent threats by US President Donald Trump to Iran on the Twitter social networking site. "I have for some time stopped commenting on Donald Trump's comments," he said.

"ISIS sleeper cells conducted an attack with suicide bombers on a convoy consisting of demining teams in Shaddadi, south of Hasakah today [Monday]," Mustafa Bali, a spokesperson for the SDF, wrote on Twitter.
He added that the incident did not result in any casualties but damages only.
However, he continued, the bombing indicates that the jihadist group's remnants are still a threat to the security forces and civilians in the country, but that the Kurdish fighters will carry on fighting the militants.
"While there are no casualties, this attack is yet another indicator of the menace posed by the ISIS sleeper cells in the region. We will remain comitted to our efforts of denying ISIS freedom of movement and wipe its remnants and ideology off the society."

Surely every IQD holder knew the Shia militias were a problem and that means IRAN...Last post I made was that on May 6th there was to be a huge transfer of funds paid to US by China. Then out of left field China backed out and change the terms as news reported. ...follow that up with 700 rocket attacks on Israel in one night followed by intelligence of the Iranian threat to US assets. For those that follow the future of China and 'Silk Road" you know of the potential role Iraq plays.

Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat   What does Sadr mean when he says “to give the people back their wealth”?  What he means is this. Supposed someone had 2 million dinars before Oct 2003 worth a rate $3+ per dinar (when they decided to convert to the new large 3 zero notes). That was over 6 million US dollars. This 2 million them became almost worthless overnight as the value decreased to about $2,000 US dollars. So, what Sadr is saying is that the people need to regain the value they lost and get back at least their 6 million dollars. Get it? Sadr is not speaking so general as most think. He is very specific in his thinking on this topic...  [post 2 of 2]

5-20-2019   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat   ...Moqtada al-Sadr spoke in parliament and stated that he wanted the promised reforms and the “wealth of Iraq given back to the nation”.  He is putting pressure on parliament and the GOI to get the reinstatement of the currency, something which is way overdue. There is no reason for this process not to take place other than the corruption going on with the currency auctions and now maybe the Iran fiasco. ...To coincide with Sadr’s efforts we need to watch what the CBI does. They must find a way to curb the corruption in the currency auctions and move ahead with the project to delete the zeros.  [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]
