The insurgents of the Islamic State (IS) carried out a bomb attack on Monday against the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northern Syria, a spokesperson confirmed.
The US-backed Kurdish fighters announced the full victory over the militant group in Syria in March, but the extremist group's sleeper cells still impose threat to the forces in the country.
"ISIS sleeper cells conducted an attack with suicide bombers on a convoy consisting of demining teams in Shaddadi, south of Hasakah today [Monday]," Mustafa Bali, a spokesperson for the SDF, wrote on Twitter.
He added that the incident did not result in any casualties but damages only.
However, he continued, the bombing indicates that the jihadist group's remnants are still a threat to the security forces and civilians in the country, but that the Kurdish fighters will carry on fighting the militants.
"While there are no casualties, this attack is yet another indicator of the menace posed by the ISIS sleeper cells in the region. We will remain comitted to our efforts of denying ISIS freedom of movement and wipe its remnants and ideology off the society."
US to Continue Supporting Religious Minorities in Iraq, Kurdistan
The US has reiterated its coordination with all distinct religious minority groups in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region as well, urging its local partners to implement and monitor "current and new US-funded programs throughout the country."
US Consul General in Erbil Steve Fagin and Special Representative for Minority Assistance Programs Max Primorac said in a joint statement that "protecting the rights of all religious minorities is a priority of the President, Vice President, and Secretary of State of the United States."
"In support of the Vice President’s directive in October 2017, and through the passage of H.R. 390, the United States is making investments specifically to help persecuted ethnic and religious minorities in northern Iraq return home and repair their communities."
The pair explained that the assistance combines short, medium, as well as long-term efforts in hopes of helping the minority groups with life-saving support.
"It will also restore access to essential services, rehabilitate critical infrastructure, improve access to jobs, support local businesses, and mobilize local and national actors to prevent future atrocities."
They further pointed out that the US has been able to implement important projects in the areas of Qaraqosh, Karamles, Bashiqa, Sheikhan, Teskuf, Lalish, and Alqosh, Sinjar, Mosul, and other locations.
The statement additionally reaffirmed that Washington would make efforts to facilitate "all denominations to return home in safety and dignity."

Supposed someone had 2 million dinars before Oct 2003 worth a rate $3+ per dinar (when they decided to convert to the new large 3 zero notes). That was over 6 million US dollars.
