Iraq and Saudi Arabia are seeking to reopen Arar border post between the two countries after being closed for 30 years. Arar is one of the important border crossings between Saudi Arabia and Iraq, whether economically, politically or even socially.
Iraq has a land border with Saudi Arabia of about 800 kilometers, extending from Anbar westward to Muthanna in the south.
The reopening of the New Arar border port is of economic importance in increasing the trade exchange between the two countries, facilitating the movement of Iraqi pilgrims and Umrah, and strengthening the ties and family and tribal ties between the two countries.
It is located at the Iraqi-Saudi border (97 km) southwest of Iraq's Nukhayb district, 50 km north of Arar. The Arar border crossing is 600 km (70 miles) west of Baghdad.
Since 2003, it was not officially opened during the pilgrimage season to promote the Iraqi pilgrims to Mecca, and has two tracks passes through the province of Karbala, and the second within the province of Anbar.
The Arar port is the official and approved between the two countries for more than 50 years, until its closure in 1991, that is during the Second Gulf War, and its use has been limited during the past years to facilitate the entry of Iraqi pilgrims every General as we mentioned.
The economic, social and cultural importance of a new port Arar:
The importance of Arar border port between Iraq and Saudi Arabia can not be limited to economic or tourist importance, but it is characterized by political and security status for the benefit of various political parties, whether international or local.
Arar connects Iraq with the shortest way to reach many countries in the north of Saudi Arabia. The economic exchange in its various fields will be more effective and influential, which will have a positive impact on many aspects, including social, cultural and even political rapprochement.
Iraq is an Arab country with many of Saudi Arabia's closest ties in the region, especially in relation to the Kingdom with the longest land borders, and they share in terms of belief, history, geography and man.
Commercial communication is very important to contribute to the economic recovery of the Iraqi industry because it possesses skilled manpower, all of which opens up areas in the labor market for experts, and despite the current political situation, but the future is promising for Iraq, and will also need many of the goods that will contribute to Iraq, Saudi Arabia has many goods of high quality and competitive value, which Iraq will be a good and profitable destination for the Saudi market, and this exchange will include the transport market and types of service market and perhaps even different industries.
Local residents in Anbar and Nukhayb in particular believe that the re-employment of the new Arar border crossing contributes to the economic recovery of most of the cities surrounding the port, which has been economically damaged since its closure in 1990.
The opening of the port will revive the region economically and contribute to the revitalization of the export and import movement between the two countries, and the revival of cities and provinces located on the roads leading to the port. In the northern border region there are cement factories that will undoubtedly benefit The opening of the port to export cement to Iraq after Saudi Arabia allowed the export of cement abroad after the suspension of Iraq under the orders of Paul Bremer, the civil administrator of Iraq after 2003, and the opening of the port will serve pilgrims Iraqis, Turks and Eastern European countries.
The new trade port will revive the trade exchange movement and raise the level of the economic area of the region, and there will be great employment opportunities for young people through the opening of clearance offices of goods and the volume of economic exchange may be very high, given the need of the Iraqi market for Saudi and Gulf products which is characterized by high quality, Provide the security side to ensure the operation of trucks transporting goods to Iraq or through the provision of commercial deposit centers between the Saudi and Iraqi ports for the receipt and delivery of goods, because it is very difficult to go trucks inside Iraq in the current period, due to the lack of security well, As I am a member of the region, I see that the region will thrive commercially, and the passage of trucks from the new Arar port is much better for the Saudi and Gulf trade because of the proximity, time reduction, and low cost instead of passing through other, Traders have high cost, time and distance.
Insurance for the border port by the Iraqi forces:
Iraq plays a balanced role among regional parties and is not aligned to one side without the other, which is confirmed with statements by Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi that his government rejects the policy of axes and adopt a trend based on cooperation with all neighboring countries, as well as the statements of Iraqi President Barham Saleh during the Arab summit in Tunis And confirmed that Iraq will be a balance between the regional parties, and confirmed that the trend of the heads of parliaments organized by Iraq during the month of April and brought together between Saudi Arabia and Iran as an effort by Iraqi leaders to draw the image of Iraq as a friend among neighbors.
And that "the Iraqi government allocated large numbers of Iraqi army forces and border guards to protect the desert road leading to the port of Arar, and the allocation of devices to combat explosives, and the conduct of military aircraft, to detect terrorist operations.
The signing of an agreement to improve the new port of Arar, and the Saudi Customs and the Border Crossings Authority in the Republic of Iraq recently signed an agreement on "the establishment and improvement of the new port Arar Saudi Arabia" in Riyadh, in the presence of the Governor of the General Customs Authority Ahmad Al-Qahbani and the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Iraq Shammari, and the head of the Iraqi border crossings Kazem Mohammed al-Aqabi.
The aim of the agreement is to overcome any obstacles that may face the implementation of the project to establish and improve the new outlet Arar Saudi Arabia, and the desire of both sides to identify the necessary commitments that would contribute to the implementation of the project in time.
The agreement also included the appointment of liaison officers for the project from the two sides in order to communicate and coordinate continuously, arrange the meetings of the project if necessary, and provide the necessary facilities for the project workers to ensure ease and smooth mobility, through coordination with the concerned parties in each port, A specific mechanism to ensure easy mobility to and from the work area around the clock and throughout the implementation period. The agreement also specified the beginning of the implementation of the project works from 17-9-1439H corresponding to 1-6-2018.
The Iraqi economic expert, Hammam al-Shamma, said that the restoration of relations between the two countries comes at a time when Iraq is in dire need of its Arab brothers, under the internal and external pressures facing the Iraqi economy, including the disruption of oil prices globally in light of the enormous financial needs of the reconstruction of the country after the devastation As a result of the occupation Da'ashi, in addition to Iranian pressure, which is under US sanctions and trying to find an outlet in Iraq.
In a Saudi initiative to activate investment in Iraq, a grant of $ 1 billion was provided to build a sports city. The grant comes to revive the economic situation in Iraq and to stimulate the economy and create job opportunities for Iraqi citizens, who have reached more than 25%.
The Saudi officials also stressed that the operation of the new Arar port with Iraq is in accordance with the latest technologies in the world, and is equipped with international standards, and contributes to the development of the border area and provide facilities for passers-by. He stressed that "Customs prepared the project re-engineering procedures for exemptions and customs restrictions, To shorten the procedures and legalize and update the lists of restricted goods with the concerned parties. "
The Iraqi side stressed that the trade relations between the two countries will witness a qualitative leap in the exchange level after the opening of Arar port. The opening of the port will make commercial movement between the two countries easier, especially since it is currently being done in a complex way either through Jordan or Kuwait, direct.
Al-Shamaa said that the projects are also important project of the Iraqi-Saudi oil line, which reaches the Red Sea and helps Iraq to export additional quantities of oil, Iraq has a large productive capacity and a large oil reserve.
In the near future, we hope to enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields to new horizons, coordinate bilateral efforts to serve the interests of the two countries and ensure the protection of common interests and develop their strategic partnership. The Council also aims to encourage the exchange of technical and technical expertise between the two countries, Scientific research in all fields.
Therefore, the Arab and Iraqi parties should develop channels of communication among themselves and realize that the return and re-establishment of relations will require a long-term process in order to build the influence that all Arab countries are seeking.

Erbil: Ihsan Aziz
Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Javishoglu arrived in Erbil late last night from Baghdad on his first visit to Kurdistan after the referendum on the fate of the region on September 25, 2016, which caused a clear chill in political and commercial relations between The two sides.
In a brief statement to two Turkish channels, Javishoglu began his day with a series of brief, closed and sequential meetings. He said in a brief statement to two Turkish channels that he had invited Baghdad's Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi to visit Ankara soon and discussed with members of the Iraqi government and parliamentarians Bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them, and said that his country is keen to communicate with the Turkmen forces of Iraq, especially the Turkmen Front Party, and discussed with them the situation of Turkmen in Iraq and the Kurdistan region. He added that Ankara will continue to defend strongly the rights of the Turkmen in Iraq as the third nationality in the country, stressing that the Turkmen were and still adhere to their Iraqi affiliation, and have demonstrated that during their participation in the war against «Da'ash».
After that, the Turkish minister met with the head of the intelligence agency in Kurdistan, pleased Barzani, the candidate for the formation of the next regional government, and then discussed with the President of the provincial government Nechirvan Barzani, candidate for the presidency of the region, and concluded his meetings with Qubad Talabani, leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, The province, and the son of former Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, before returning home.
According to informed sources, the Turkish minister focused in his consultations with Kurdish officials on ways to strengthen trade and security cooperation between the two sides, especially in dealing with the anti-Turkish PKK, which takes from the Qandil mountains in the border triangle between Iraq, Iran and Turkey. Military action against Turkey.
"The visit of the Turkish minister to the region comes within the framework of Ankara's intensive efforts to obtain alternative sources of energy for Iranian oil and gas, whose flow to Turkey will be stopped by the harsh US sanctions against Iran," said Abdul Salam Barwari, a leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. "Turkey is seeking to exploit the opportunity in light of the economic isolation of Iran. There is no doubt that Iraq represents its best market in terms of export and disposal of its products in the markets of Iraq and the region, and in terms of importing oil and gas produced in Kurdistan as an alternative to the energy imported from Iraq," Barwari told Asharq Al Awsat. Iran, in the light of the advice and recommendations of the United States, and Iraq is ahead of a large-scale reconstruction campaign in the affected Sunni provinces will need huge investments in this sector, which is a golden opportunity for Turkey ».
Berwari pointed out that the Turkish minister asked Baghdad to cooperate with his country in confronting the opposition Labor Party, but the Iraqi government did not ask Turkey to evacuate 27 sites occupied for years inside Iraqi territory, most of them in the Kurdistan region, and did not ask them to stop the continuous air raids on villages and regions Region. He pointed out that Ankara has taken strenuous positions against the region after the referendum process, under pressure and external factors, and now it is working to restore its relations, it will not dispense with the Territory in any case, given the presence of more than 4000 Turkish companies, tens of thousands of Turkish labor In the region.
With regard to the security issue and the possibility of demanding that Turkey's authorities in the region, especially the two main ruling parties, to participate in a possible military operation against the PKK in Kandil, political analyst Mohammed Zankane explained that the policies and constants of the Democratic Party prohibit and deny the combat of Kurdish parties whatever the motives, The Territory will not respond to any such request. He added to Asharq Al-Awsat: "The statements of the Turkish Interior Minister, in which he said that the Kandil mountains have become a top priority for the Turkish army, are merely statements of local consumption intended to preserve the remaining popularity of the Justice and Development Party, which suffered significant losses in the municipal elections The last in the country.
The Turkish minister did not meet with the former head of the Kurdistan Region and leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Massoud Barzani.

The Central Bank of Iraq organized a campaign to donate blood on 30/4/2019 with the participation of a large number of employees of this bank.

Saairun look forward to getting Central Bank governor post: source

29/04/2019
Saairun Alliance has given the option to the political blocs to choose one of the two positions of the national security adviser or the governor of the Central Bank to be part of Saairun's share, a source said.

Saairun has engaged in negotiations to obtain one of the two positions, but it conceded the National Security Adviser post in exchange for the governor of the Central Bank, the source said.

Also, there has been an agreement to grant Faleh al-Fayadh, the current national security adviser, the post of the security adviser to the Prime Minister, so he would attend all the cabinet meetings, but would not have the right to vote on the cabinet's decisions.

The National Wisdom Movement will not engage in negotiations with any party regarding the division of the posts, said member of the movement Aysar al-Jaderi.

"This situation brings us back to square one," Jaderi said, adding that such acts drive Iraq away from achieving progress and reforming state institutions.

On the other hand,
Fatah Alliance MP Mohamed Karim said that Saairun's decision to abandon the national security adviser post to obtain the post of the Central Bank governor has not taken an official context. He added that such offer may part of political negotiations among the blocs.

Forced withdrawal

Faleh al-Fayadh has been Prime Minister Adil Abd al-Mahdi's candidate for the interior ministry candidate, which has provoked controversy and conflicts between political parties, especially Saairun backed by Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, and
Fatah Alliance headed by Hadi al-Amiri.

After months of disputes, a
Fatah Alliance MP said in February that the alliance has agreed to withdraw Fayadh, after Saairun, who has rejected the candidacy of Fayadh for the post, agreed to support him for the deputy prime minister for security affairs post.

The source said that Fatah has withdrawn Fayadh to maintain its relationship with Saairun and in order for the two parties not to get involved into a political dispute that would obstruct the work of the government and its program to serve citizens.

We do have concrete proof that rates are locked in and showing now though...  [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

4-29-2019   Intel Guru MarkZ   [Are you confident the dong is going to be in the first basket?]  I am extremely confident it is going to be in the first basket. Imo its 110% it will be in the 1st basketIraq has a considerable amount of dong in their treasury and Vietnam holds a considerable amount of IQD. They have been in this together from the get-go.

4-29-2018   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat   ...there is NO sound or reasonable evidence that the Iraqi dinar will or can RV anytime soon...the window of opportunity quickly closed at the end of March 2019 when the government had the CBI send out the electronic payment files and paid out at the old 1180 rate. The only window we now know is for January 2020. Could this change? Yes, it could but there is no sign or evidence it has or will. ...So now April is just about gone and we will see what May brings us.  Remember April showers brings May flowers so we wait and see…
