"We sincerely hope that the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the Directorate of Mine Action (DMA) of the Ministry of Health and Environment, and the Iraqi Kurdistan Mine Action Agency (IKMAA) will manage and utilize provided equipment.
We also hope that MOI, DMA, and IKMAA staff trained in this project will undertake demining and related activities effectively and efficiently so as to contribute to reestablishment of the normal living conditions of Iraqi people." said Charge d'Affairs ad interim of Japan to Iraq, Mr. Akira Endo.
He added, "Japan has recently decided a new assistance package for Iraq amounting to USD 63 million, including assistance in demining sector. Japan will continue to contribute to reconstruction and development of Iraq by Iraqi people."
"Our deep gratitude to our friends the government and people of Japan who continue to support humanitarian cause to eliminate the danger of mines on communities of Iraq. This project is another milestone in the long way of friendship between Iraq and Japan. We look forward to continue this in the form of more projects that help people of Iraq especially in liberated areas to return and settle.
Stabilization of the life of the returnees is a priority and this support we witness today will further add to achieve stabilization," added Dr. Cameran Ali, Director General of Demining Agency in the Ministry of Health and environment in the federal Government of Iraq (DMA-MOHE) "The Government and People of Japan showed support generously over the years to Kurdistan Region Government and people.
This Project comes as another testament of the remarkable friendship both Iraq and Japan developed over long decades of mutual respect and understanding," stated Mr. Siraj Barzani Head of IraqiKurdistan Mine Action Agency (IKMAA) in his speech today on the closing ceremony of the project.
"The generous donor; Government and People of Japan whom we embrace their friendship dearly. Ms. Dara Tell, Programme Specialist for UNOPS Baghdad added that, "we are grateful to the Government of Japan, Government of Iraq, and all our partners in this important project. Another ferry goes out of control in Nineveh

Nineveh's directorate of civil defense said that a ferry in a tourist island in the province has been out of control, due to the rising level the Tigris.

The directorate said that it managed to control one of the two ferries left on the Island's bank, warning against the consequences in case the ferry could hit the old pillars of the bridge.

On 21 March 2019, a ferry carrying passengers on the Tigris River near Mosul capsized and sank, killing 103 people, 12 of them children, according to some reports.

The capsize was caused by overcrowding on-board the vessel, and by high water levels on the Tigris.

Subsequently, the parliament voted to sack Nineveh governor and his two deputies, in line with Abd al-Mahdi's request.

4-12-2019   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat   Article:  "TUESDAY THE RELEASE OF THREE MONTHS OF SALARY OF THE FULL-TIME APPOINTMENT OF NON-RECIPIENTS IN THE PROVINCE OF BAGHDAD" Last week they released the funds for salaries in the Kurdistan region and this week in the Baghdad regional provinces. This all is occurring just as the CBI said they would do weeks ago. They are paying out in the program rate of 1180 not the RV rate...

4-12-2019   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat  Article:  "FINANCIAL INCLUSION WEEK WILL BE LAUNCHED 25TH OF THIS APRIL"  Quote:  “stimulating ENVIRONMENT FOR WITHDRAWING THE ACCUMULATED CASH MASS THROUGH THE PROVISION of various financial services”.   The CBI needs to get these dinar notes from out of the homes still stashed and get them out of circulation and into the banks. This is part of the project to delete the zeros.   Iraq does not want millions of millionaires. Just recently we read yet another article on this topic of these notes stashed in the homes and necessity to get them into the banks. So this makes twice recently on this topic.

4-12-2019   Intel Guru Bruce  [via PinkRoses]   The information that we are hearing is again very positive in the sense we are moving forward.   Seeing things that are occurring that are indicating we are on the right track and we are almost ready to be notified... I believe the latest update I had from top bank sources is indicating the possibility of receiving notification let’s say around or by lunchtime Friday, tomorrow... that is when the games are pretty much over. ...I would just say the intention is to get this started for us this week...  ...All the rates are on the screens. They are locked and ready to go.  ...We will see what tomorrow [Friday] brings. I am very excited.

4-12-2019   Intel Guru MarkZ    [did the whales exchange today (Thursday) as planned?]  No …they did not…they got lots of guarantees and told to be "on call" starting tomorrow to definitely get them in this weekend. [When can we start exchanging dinar:]  Based on long conversations with banks today a handful may be done this weekend with the bulk starting on Monday morning. [Are you feeling 100% yet?]  I am 100% sure its about to happen…just not 100% sure on exact timing...no one is.  [post 3 of 3]

4-12-2019   Intel Guru MarkZ   [What rates are you hearing now?]  This is a guess...what makes sense to me...$4.40 for a in country rate on the dinar... possibly as high as 6.50 in the US...this is only my opinion...I always thought Low 2$ to $2.30 range on the dong...Just my opinion and makes sense to me...  [Hard to comprehend there is so much return on our currency for all the currency holders – wow Yes it is tough to believe...but we see all the signs…a lot of movement with swift and AIB…. ...There is so much happening as we move toward the asset backed world.  [post 2 of 3....stay tuned]

4-12-2019 Intel Guru MarkZ [via PDK] The news is phenomenal today...very exciting...they are putting our horses in the starting gate... The 800 numbers are fair game anywhere from Friday night to Sunday night... logistically It makes more sense for Sunday now. ...The rates locked in but not released yet for us... [can we expect numbers to change on the CBI when this goes?] I expect to see the rates on the CBI a day after this all goes…so they do not have to mess with time zones and leaks. ...The forex window closing on Friday evening to Sunday is what makes the most sense for things to happen at this point. I am absolutely convinced that we are past the point of no return... [post 1 of 3....stay tuned]

The strangest "prisoner" of history enters the prison of murdering men
2019/4/12 15:38
[Baghdad-where]

A strange decision taken by a town in Kazakhstan near the border with Russia against a female bear attacked a camp in that town, the British Daily Star newspaper reported.

According to the newspaper, the Kazakh town was sentenced to life imprisonment on the female bear, called "Ekaterina", and spend her sentence in a strict prison, dedicated to murderous criminals, in Kostanay, near the border with Russia.

Ekaterina was sent to jail after two separate attacks at the Belaya Yurta camp in Kazakhstan. The first targeted a child who was trying to feed her while she attacked a drunk man who tried to "shake her hands".

In this prison, where there are 730 prisoners, the 22-year-old female bear is the only one to be sentenced, as most of the prisoners are sentenced to life imprisonment.

However, the female cell of the Ekaterina bear is the only one that has a swimming pool.
