BasNews 09/04/2019 - 00:07

ERBIL - The federal government has ordered the dismissal of a Kurdish official in the disputed province of Kirkuk, a source revealed on Monday.

Head of Directorate for Internal Affairs in Kirkuk, Yadgar Shkwr, was removed from his post on Monday by the central government for unclarified reasons, a source told Kurdistan 24 on condition of anonymity.

The source pointed out that the Kurdish official was replaced by someone else who came into the Kurdish director's office on Monday with an official order from Baghdad.

He noted that the prolonged removal of Kurdish officials in Kirkuk is to weaken the presence of the Kurds in the province, calling for an end to these "violations" against the Kurds.

Tens of Kurdish officials have been removed from the office since the October 2017 military incursion when the Iraqi forces and pro-Iranian Hashd al-Shaabi militias overran the disputed Kurdish territories.

US to Cut Diplomatic Staff in Baghdad, Erbil: Report
Iraq, April 9, 2019
ERBIL — The United States is planning to reduce the number of its diplomatic personnel stationed in Baghdad and Erbil, a report claimed.
Washington is considering a similar plan also in Afghanistan, according to US officials cited by Foreign Policy magazine.
The plan is said to be put into action as soon as this and next year.
The move is apparently in line with the US efforts to compete Chinese and Russian growing hegemony elsewhere in Africa.
'We are regularly hearing from Africa that we are outnumbered by the Chinese diplomats working on economic or other issues 4 or 5 to 1. We cannot continue to concentrate all that money in Afghanistan and Iraq', a senior US State Department official told the Foreign Policy.
According to a plan that has yet to be approved, between 20 and 30 US diplomats in Iraq may lose their positions this year, and another 30-50 percent of the staff of US diplomatic missions in Baghdad and Erbil may be cut next year, Sputnik reported.

4-9-2019   Intel Guru Delta   Article:  "IRAQ IS CLOSING IN ON A MAJOR ECONOMIC BREAKTHROUGH"   I LOVE IT....ALL OVER THE NEWS IN IRAQ...   MORE GOOD NEWS..."free-trade zone will be established between Saudi Arabia and Iraq"

4-8-2019   Intel Guru MarkZ   Well in the past we have heard so many sorry stories and the can was kicked so many times...but this time I don’t think is one of them...As of now, I am excited we will see solid movement overnight. [Any news about rates?]  Hearing 4.50 up to $6 or $8 for contract rates on the dinar...dong - I still think about $ 2.20 to $2.60... [What is your percentage for this week?]  I feel very confident and will stick with 99.9.   [post 2 of 2]

4-8-2019   Intel Guru MarkZ
We have all been so hyped up for the last two weeks and we need to manage our expectations but we really are that close...IMO.  News really slowed down Sat. Night...the decision was made to pull the trigger  ...we expect late this evening...there is a tremendous commitment to get this done.  By later Saturday everyone in...Iraq was saying Tuesday was the day to look for.  Should make for a crazy two days. If 800 numbers show up tonight or Tuesday we should be in banks by Wednesday. [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

4-8-2019   Intel/Newshound Guru Sandyf   [If the Saudi's currency is worth 27 cents I would think Iraq's currency is worth at least that if not more. I've study this thing upside down and sideways ...I still find it hard to believe Iraq and the US went through all of this for nothing...]  When considering the value of a currency you have to take into account how much is in circulation. Kuwait has about 40 billion dinar in circulation and Iraq around 44 trillion, see the difference. I believe as much as you do that something may well happen...

4-8-2019   Newshound Guru Adam Montana   When people see something rising in value, they predictably want to catch that wave...  People see other people making profits and want to join in, and again the herd mentality can push a stock or a currency or anything else that is being traded to levels that it shouldn't actually attain.  Eventually the markets will stabilize, as they always do. In Iraq's case, this is exactly why I lean towards a pegged RV rate opposed to a complete free float on the market.   It will be easier for them to control a major change if they also control the fluctuation, and they stand to make enough profits on an RV that they will be better served by taking the profits on a fixed spread rather than trying to "catch it at the top". A pegged rate, at least initially, will allow them to control and maintain a higher rate.  They are doing all this with their actions in their government, and the price of oil going up at a steady and fairly predictable rate gives them the ability to create a solid path to higher profitability.  End result? Everything we’re looking for!   [post 3 of 3]

4-8-2019   Newshound Guru Adam Montana   Iraq’s currency price is based on their ability to sell it to other countries, just like any other country with a tradable currency. Their ability to sell their currency is determined by what other countries will pay for it - this is the basic concept of supply and demand. ...In order for Iraq to raise the "sell" price of their currency, they have to create a strong market for it. ...If Iraq wasn't making progress towards stability and strength, we would have no chance of an RV. That is...not the case. Iraq IS moving in the right direction. ...That's really all this comes down to...Iraq's ability to raise the value of their currency is based on the perceived ability to provide a solid expectation of return on investment.  [post 2 of 3....stay tuned]

4-8-2019   Newshound Guru Adam Montana   If you’ve kept up with my recent posts, you know I’m excited about oil...We finished the week still above $60 on the WTI charts... and still going strong.   BIG PICTURE TIME.  There are a lot of moving parts here, but the biggest thing we're waiting on right now is the HCL.  There are a bunch of articles and news related to HCL, and I'm even getting some very encouraging private messages from my contacts about the progress, but the bottom line right now is this:  HCL has not been concluded at this time.  Therefore we have no RV...yet. Yet, we have reason to keep hanging on, and if I may be so bold...we have a damn good reason for it.  [post 1 of 3....stay tuned]

4-7-2019 Newshound Guru G-Lin ...I'm not sure exactly why they are bringing it back. Will they add amendments? Will any additional amendments address a rate? Everything is guess work at this stage and I'm sure that's deliberate. They also changed the date on the introduction into Parl. again From Apr.10th to Apr. 17th. I'm hoping we will learn a little more between now and the 17th. So we wait. But I like the direction this is taking. They just held a seminar on the deletion of zeros and that is encouraging. They definitely are talking about it... [post 2 of 2]

British surgeon reveals "true killer" of Princess Diana!
2019/4/8 16:00
[Follow-up]

A leading pathologist has claimed that the British princess, Diana, was killed by a rare rupture in one of her lungs. Dr. Richard Shepard said the injury to Diana was so unusual that he had not seen in 23,000 autopsies during his career.

In his new book "Irregular Causes," Shepard said: "Princess Diana suffered a bone fracture after the incident and a small chest injury, including a small tear in one of her lungs."

"In the ambulance, I gradually lost consciousness and when I had a heart attack, I made every effort to revive her and underwent surgery in the hospital, where they found the problem and tried to repair the vein, but unfortunately it was too late. I have never seen her in my entire career. "

Dr. Shepard, 65, returned to examine Diana's body for a formal investigation into her death two decades ago. Richard claimed Diana could have been saved if the paramedics had taken her to hospital instead of assuming her condition was stable.

"For the ambulance service, Diana initially seemed infected but stable, especially as she was able to communicate."

This claim was supported by a prominent heart surgeon, Christian Barnard, who told The Sunday Telegraph: "They made a mistake not to be rushed to the hospital, because the bleeding suffered by Diana can only be stopped by surgery."

The 36-year-old Princess died with her lover Doudi Al Fayed, 42, after a traffic accident in a tunnel in the French capital, Paris, on August 31, 1997.

US Increasing Troops in Iraq to Protect IS Leader Baghdadi: Iraqi Expert
BasNews 08/04/2019 - 23:55 Published in Iraq
ERBIL The United States' aim in increasing its forces in Iraq is to protect the top Islamic State (IS) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, an Iraqi expert was quoted as saying.
Al-Maalomah news agency quoted Kazzem al-Haaj as claiming that Washington is trying to heighten its forces in Iraq to take control of the border areas with Syria and ensure the protection of the IS leader Baghdadi, as cited by Fars news agency.
He further added that the US is considering the border areas between Iraq and Syria, where there are oil pipelines to Jordan, noting that Washington is imposing its presence in the country before the Iraqi Parliament can approve a proposal to oust the foreign forces from Iraq.
