Editorial date: 2019/4/18

The head of the parliamentary security and defense committee, Adnan al-Asadi, described the state security as "mined and a powder keg," he said.
"The problem of quotas and consensuses is one of the problems that affect the building of the state, and part of it is the consensus on the committees. In the face of the internal order, he says that after that," al-Asadi told the television station Al-Furat, "the presidency of the parliamentary security and defense committee is reserved for me." To vote on the members of the Committee in 3 days of the Committee to elect a president and enter the consensus to cancel the law.
He explained that the Security and Defense Committee should be led effectively and forcefully to monitor the performance of security bodies in all parts of the country.
Al-Asadi said, "We were running the Ministry of the Interior as the senior agent of the ministry, well if not for the fall of the city of Mosul in June 2014," noting that "not resolve the name of any candidate for the portfolio of the Interior so far, and current data confirms the survival of the security ministries free of ministers," adding that " The situation of the state from the point of view of security is very good; but it is mined and on the barrel of gunpowder, and there are cars without paintings and people with misleading cars inside Baghdad and cities and the capital today is full of weapons.
As for the arms inventory, al-Asadi said that "the interior has granted arms licenses to more than half a million people so far and granted licenses to arms dealers." The officer in charge today can not stop a misleading car and the law will burn his house. But the strength of the will to implement, "noting that" the Interior takes the fingerprint of arms to those who give them leave. "
Al-Asadi called for "the support of the Prime Minister for disarmament and its monopoly on the state's hand," revealing "the entry of weapons from all ports of Iraq, which comes deals," recalling saying "two days ago large quantities of weapons were seized with silencers," calling for " Weapons in Baghdad ".
In response to the question of removing him from his position as a senior agent of the Interior Ministry, al-Asadi said, "Before Mohamed Salem al-Ghabban was interior minister, I went to former prime minister Haider al-Abbadi and his question is whether I can be minister of the interior, literally," there is no possibility " .
Al-Asadi confirmed the existence of a clean-up campaign aimed at his close associates after his departure from the Interior, including Maj. Gen. Uday, who was accused of trivial charges and issued an arrest warrant against him. After a period of time he left the office of the ministry. Colonel Hussam was also charged with a false accusation, "He said.
He pointed out that "the senior agent of the current Ministry of the Interior Aqil Khazali injustice in the ministry, despite the efficiency and has wonderful possibilities; but his place in the Ministry of Higher Education is efficient and fair and flawless."
Al-Asadi commented on the deal of explosives detectors (sonar) saying, "It is a very big corruption deal, and the lives and blood have gone because of it, and often the investigation is not repeated twice after the issuance of a court order against those involved." He recalled that, "At the time formed an investigative committee at the leadership level, "The price of the device is 65 thousand dollars, while the real price does not exceed 1000 dollars, and the former Director General of the Directorate of Combat Bombers in the Ministry of Interior Major General Jabir Jabri assured me that the price of one device is 30 thousand dollars" .
He added that "the commander of the federal police team Raed Jawdat in a battle and in an exceptional circumstance does not have anything available from a sophisticated weapon and was involved in a battle in the district of Fallujah and continued to fight and gave blood Martyrs and today opens the files of corruption and an agent of accusations; but I say that {fruitful tree always thrown stones].
"The contract for the supply of cars (Mitsubishi) to the Ministry of the Interior is 100% corrupt and was not requested by any party in the ministry, and an influential point {not called} demanded the team Raed Jawdat to go as a representative to sign the deal but refused, and did not contract in my days on the cars } For the interior and even donated as a gift to the Ministry in addition to the cars {Land Cruze}. "
He said that "the former commander of Nineveh operations Mahdi Gharawi worked in the darkest circumstances and the injustice of the report of the parliamentary committee to investigate the events of the fall of Mosul, and international and regional stands behind the fall," announcing "the formation of a committee by the Council of Ministers to receive the numbers of the delayed contracts from the Ministries of Interior and Defense" .
Al-Asadi said, "There are cries of fear and concern from international organizations and their task is not to legislate the crimes of informatics law, and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has taken deputies to convince them not to legislate the law," asserting "control of most organs of Iraqi officials by foreign embassies and Iraq, .
"The armed groups and militias forced the voters in the recent parliamentary elections to select certain parties, and the upcoming elections will be terrifying for the proliferation of weapons and increase the strength of the militias," al-Asadi concluded by saying that "a large parliamentary bloc will emerge soon, And the coalition of victory includes more than 120 deputies and will have a weight in parliament and I call for it, "expected" the continuation of the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi as a positive person and move quietly. 4-17-2019   Newshound Guru Adam Montana   There was a bit of suspense regarding Iraqi Parliamentary activity today. The Financial Management aspect was pushed off, but I don't see that as a major factor. The other 5 matters were attended to, from what we can tell...5 out of 6 is a huge improvement over what we used to see out of Parliament!   This is just another testament to the progress Iraq has made and continues to make. Oil...I know I don't have to harp on this, but oil is a big deal and Iraq is focused heavily. In fact, OIL wasn't even officially on the agenda for today's Parliament votes, yet it was still a heavy matter of discussion.  I'm reading into that part. It wasn't even on the official agenda, but it was a major point of discussion. The goal, as stated by all reports, is to get affairs in order quickly. That makes sense to me, and I'm keeping a keen eye on things.  To add to that thought, let's consider the current global situations of two other countries that are relevant to Iraq's progression: Iran and Saudi Arabia... [post 1of 2....stay tuned]

4-17-2019   Intel Guru MarkZ   My contractor friends in Iraq who are working on the power grid, and whenever this thing gets close they bring them in and update contracts and readjust rates on Qi cards ...well, a number of times over the last few weeks this has happened. There is no changed rate yet…..but in Iraq they are anticipating it.  [There is a perfect window coming tomorrow, markets close at noon tomorrow till Monday, banks stay open.]  This would be a golden time to pull this off!  I am still hearing from all sources that they want it done before Easter...There is a mad dash to get it out the door is what I am being told..

4-17-2019   Intel Guru RayRen98
We received information that the contractors were paid and it was under the new rates.  More lower denoms are trickling out on the street and that the new rates are set. Time Will Tell.

4-17-2019   Intel Guru Bruce   ...we know that the rates are, I don’t like the word locked and loaded on the screens...I think there is still some flexibility on the rates, but they are on there...rates are going to be good...Also, we are hearing that it is all going down before Easter...I am excited.   [post 2

4-17-2019   Intel Guru Bruce   Iraq has some legislation that was passed and is going to be enacted tomorrow [Wednesday]... That is a new series of banking laws. The new banking legislation is going into effect tomorrow [Wednesday] ...we are hearing that should be some what of a kick off for everything. ...We had the Finance Minister from Iraq here in the United States I believe over the weekend. They did put some deals together with Master Card and Visa. I think that is important. That is really good.  [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

4-17-2019   Intel Guru Frank26   [via Clare]  IS THERE A NEED FOR SOMETHING ELSE?...NO.

4-17-2019  Newshound Guru Kaperoni ...The government needs to...make significant strides towards stopping bribes, payoffs, money laundering and theft.  CBI still as far as I know has not implemented Deposit Insurance. The safeguard is an absolute must for investors to bring their money to Iraq.  And lastly I believe the CBI needs to accept the conditions of IMF Article VIII to allow freedom of movement of capital. In other words allow investors to get their profits out.  These are not all mandatory but are significant enough to stop investors from bringing their capital to Iraq. And after all what we're looking for is significant investment capital to begin to create a private sector. [Post 2 of 2]

4-17-2019 Newshound/Intel Guru Walkingstick [via Clare] THERE IS NOTHING FROM STOPPING IRAQ FROM ADDING VALUE TO THEIR CURRENCY. EACH WEEK THEY ARE PREPARED TO RAISE THE VALUE OF THEIR CURRENCY...EACH WEEK THEY ADD FUEL TO THE FIRE."

New salt .. the same taste and harm to health

April 18 - If you like the salty taste of food but you are concerned about the health consequences of the so-called white poison, scientists may offer you an "imminent" solution.

According to the newspaper "Daily Mail" British, a scientific team in the United States that he developed a new formula of salt, a small percentage of sodium chloride.

A number of people who tried this article said they felt their favorite salty taste, despite the low proportion of sodium chloride, which doctors say too much leads to health disorders.

Calcium chloride forms 25 percent of the new salt, and contains a percentage of potassium chloride instead of sodium chloride. Doctors say it does not threaten human health with any side effects.
Sodium intake greatly increases human blood pressure, increasing the risk of heart attacks that may result in premature death.

Caroline Ross, a Washington University research professor, along with her colleagues, supervised the development of the new salt formula and said it had several health benefits.

"It's different from buying low-salt foods because people do not like non-salted foods," she said. "The new substance protects health and ensures taste."

The composition of the new salt depends on components such as calcium chloride and potassium chloride, and these substances do not pose a danger to health.

Potassium helps reduce blood pressure, but food companies have refused to use it because it does not give a savory taste.
