UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told the Security Council in a letter that the UN team led by British lawyer Karim Asad Ahmed Khan began work on August 20.

The UN Security Council voted unanimously last September at a meeting of world leaders, a resolution put forward by Britain after a year of talks with Iraq. According to the UN resolution in 2017, the use of evidence collected by the Panel in other courts, such as international tribunals, is determined in agreement with the Iraqi government on a case-by-case basis. The decision added that the evidence is mainly for use by the Iraqi authorities and then the competent courts at the national level.

In the race Saudi Arabia and Iraq to acquire the share of Iran in the European oil market ... Quality is Faisal

Aug 24, 2018

LONDON (Reuters) - Two of Iran's rivals in OPEC, Saudi Arabia and Iraq, are scrambling to take over the Islamic Republic's share of the European oil market by pumping similar raw materials before US sanctions aimed at halting Tehran's crude exports.
Iran will face restrictions on the energy sector from early November, after US President Donald Trump withdrew in May from the 2015 nuclear agreement, which aims to curb Tehran's nuclear program.
Iran's oil is mainly sold to refiners in China, India, Japan and South Korea, although it also has customers in Turkey and the European Union. Buyers looking for an alternative can not simply choose any ore in the market.
The International Energy Agency warned recently that "with the oil sanctions on Iran and the problems of production in other areas, the maintenance of global supplies may be a strong challenge and will come at the expense of maintaining sufficient backup capacity as a preventive factor. Consequently, the market horizon may be much calmer at this point, compared to the current time. "
A senior Iranian diplomat told OPEC on Aug. 19 that no member should be allowed to control the share of another member of oil exports, given Saudi Arabia's offer to increase production to cover any shortfall in Iran's crude supplies.
But trade flows show that in Europe at least, Saudi Arabia and Iraq have already succeeded in doing so.
Reuters data showed that Iranian oil flows to Europe had dropped 35 percent since the beginning of the year to about 415,000 bpd, while Saudi shipments have doubled, and exports from Iraq have increased 30 percent.
The refinery, in response to a question about raw materials that are likely to be an alternative to Iranian crude «Saudi crude, Basra ore and ore», and come the last two crude from Iraq and Russia, respectively.
Iraq and Saudi Arabia have boosted their oil production by 245,000 bpd since the beginning of the year, cutting their official sales price for light crude to customers in Asia.
Iran is the fifth largest oil exporter in the world, and with about 1.5 million barrels per day of supplies under threat, its customers may have to pay generously for possible alternatives.
Oil is classified mainly according to sulfur content and density relative to water, or the density index of the American Petroleum Institute.
Raw materials are rated at 35 degrees on the API's Density Index in the "light" category, while those between 25-35 degrees are considered "medium" and below 25 degrees in the "heavy" category.
Light crude is easier and cheaper to extract, transport, and easier to refine. Heavy materials, which contain more impurities such as sulfur or minerals, require additional treatments to extract high-value products.
The sulfur component is the second major indicator of classification. "Sulfur" is less than 0.5 percent, while crude is "high" sulfur where the sulfur component is higher than that. And sulfur from corrosive materials, and refineries that use more high-sulfur raw materials need more intensive maintenance.
The average of OPEC crude oil is on the US Petroleum Institute's density index at 33, while the average American crude is at 35.7. Rock oil, the fastest growing crude in the United States, is still the lightest.
And Iranian light crude is the average sulfur, which means that the American rock ore, despite its availability and low cost is not an alternative in itself. Most of the refineries around the world are equipped to consume raw materials at 32 degrees on the density index of the Petroleum Institute, according to a source in a major European refining company.
Refineries usually mix different types of materials to get the best fit.
The impact on materials with a higher sulfur content is already evident. Oil prices in the current market have generally fallen over the second half of this year, but the Russian Ural, British Fortis, and Jerasol, the Angolan, all high-sulfur ore, were the highest performers around the Atlantic basin, losing about 4 percent. Compared to losses of five to six percent for lighter and low-sulfur ore such as Norwegian إkovsk, or Bonny Light of Nigeria.

Shiite Sunni debate in Iraq against the backdrop of the formation of «the largest bloc»

Karbouli: We do not complement the number ... A leader in the «honest» threatens to return «National Alliance»

Aug 24, 2018

After the Kurdish and Sunni political forces realized the importance of their role in determining the team that will assume the task of forming the largest parliamentary bloc in Iraq, it began to "raise the ceiling of its demands" to more than (60) conditions, according to a political source beginning.
Leader of the alliance «National Axis», the Secretary-General of the party «solution», Mohammed Karbouli, confirmed that the Sunni component «not subject» to pressure in the formation of the next government.
He said in a tweet on the social networking site «Twitter»: «Mistakes of those who believe that the year« add number »in the formation of the largest bloc or the next government», pointing out that «stereotypical Sunni Arabs in 2010 or 2014 completely different from the priorities and adoptions of the Sunni Arabs in 2018 .
He pointed out that «the Sunni Arabs today are carrying a project to build a state, Iraq first and foremost», stressing that «are not subject to pressure in the formation of the next government».
It seems that the Karbouliah twinge has angered the Sadikoun bloc led by the secretary-general of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq movement, Qais al-Khazali, and pushed it to "threaten" the National Alliance.
"The imposition of conditions by the Sunnis or the Kurds on the largest bloc in forming the next government will push the Shiite blocs to return their alliance because the street will never have mercy on them," said the movement's spokesman, Naim al-Aboudi.
A member of the Sadikoun bloc (who won seven seats in the new parliament within the Fatah alliance) said that "whoever is allied with the Fatah will find him a stubborn ally, but he has rules for agreement and disagreement." He said he was "talking to everyone without compromising our principles and rights."

Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq and Oman are on the verge of leading and spiritual changes that will "revolutionize" the region

Aug 24, 2018

Four Arab funerals will determine the fate and course of the Arab world, a thesis by journalist Bobby Gosh examines in an article published by Bloomberg. He sees areas such as Iran, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Iraq as potential areas for future changes in worldly and spiritual leadership in a way that will "revolutionize" the region.
The first of Ayatollah Khamenei: (78 years) has been in office since 1989, where he noted that the reports that the state of the leader of the health is largely silent, but rumors about cancer has been spread for years. A comparison between the images of the former and current leader gives an idea of how much change has occurred and what remains of his life. But the important question is who will succeed him, and whether the next supreme leader will be as tough as Khamenei or moderate like President Hassan Rowhani? But the hardliners filled positions with conservatives and appointed close associates in important government posts. The moderate side is weak and in a fragile phase.
And the second to Salman bin Abdul Aziz, 82, who reached the throne in Saudi Arabia in 2015 and changed the plans of the throne of the throne, where he appointed his son Prince Mohammed, 31, crown prince. The new crown prince quickly consolidated his authority and today he controls all aspects of governance in the country, including the army and the oil sector. But there is resistance waiting for him. Among the local forces waiting for him is the ignored generation and the religious opposition, and many billionaires who were fined and imprisoned in a luxury hotel last fall.
The third of Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, 87, who has been in his position since 1992. This influential religious man believes that the religious establishment has no access to politics in Iraq, but from his position in Najaf plays an indirect role in guiding millions of his followers.
The writer says his status prevented Iraq from turning into an Iranian-style religious system. In the easier scenario, his successor will be one of three who will live after him - Mohammed Said al-Hakim, Mohammed Ishaq al-Fayyad and Bashir Hussein al-Najafi.
Iran has long tried to have a prominent pro-Najaf voice, and Saddam Hussein has thwarted her attempts and then Sistani. In the case of this old man, Iran may push for the appointment of a candidate in favor of it.
Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the 77-year-old ruler of Oman, has been ruled since 1970. The Sultan is not on the list, especially since his country has tried to avoid political and social unrest in the region. For a clone. The question is not whether his successor will be able to govern the country, but whether he can play the pivotal role of Qaboos as a mediator and arbitrator in the region's conflicts. Qaboos asks to choose his successor in a sealed letter that will not be opened until he dies. Ultimately, the worst scenario is that the hardliners in Tehran, Riyadh and Najaf will dominate, and the weakness in Muscat will prevail.

8-23-2018   Newshound Guru Currency365  People still saying citizens wont see wealth from RV because they only get purchasing power BUT many citizens purchased dinar with USD & stashed away millions of IQD & will not bring them in until the RV. Also Citizens will receive monthly Oil Revenue and ALL the Oil back pay.

8-23-2018   Newshound Guru Don961   imo...news is slow this week while the country celebrates Eid...many sites stop posting articles completely...others that continue offer little except for articles about endless political meetings and conflicting opinions about alliances,  who is aligning with who, who's holding out for better deals, etc. to get the majority bloc...bottom line, results won't be given until after Eid...they are under pressure to get it done...so we'll see what shakes out.

8-23-2018   Newshound Guru Adam Montana   [...You said in your last update we are in the final stretch and they could do it NOW...]   I agree with the premise that we are in "green light" territory.  Sunday is the soonest I expect to see any major news... we will see!

8-23-2018  Newshound Guru Breitling  …I watch currencies.  Either they are in high risk, moderate risk or no risk at all.  There are only three categories.  The Iraqi dinar is not in the high risk or the moderate risk.  They’re in zero risk.  People don’t realize that.  It’s sort of strange to have conversations with people that they’re thinking there’s something wrong with the currency or it’s teetering back and fourth and it’s not.  It’s a stable currency...

8-23-2018   Newshound Guru Adam Montana   ...it's holiday in Iraq, nothing will happen today through Saturday. Good news, though! Although it's not "officially official", there are enough reports out to satisfy me that Elections have been approved, which allows MPs (Members of Parliament) to move onto the next stage, which is appointing a President. Once this is done, and that should not be long, that will free them up to work on various little things like... oh, I don't know... HCL!  ...this was a long process, but once Holiday is over I am expecting a bit of change in the lull we've been riding through.

8-23-2018   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat  ...The Iraqi dinar is still solely pegged to the US dollar and ONLY to the US Dollar. It is a “de facto” peg meaning temporary peg done in a time of crisis/emergency with Iraq in response to the war. In the future the CBI and the IMF have both told us that the plan is to re-peg the dinar to an SDR basket of 5 currencies (US Dollar, Yuan, British Pound, Yen, Euro)...The FACT is the change over to the new basket will be the driving force for the rate increase in the dinar. Again it is NOT a revaluation but a reinstatement about to take place. Then it will be put on a managed float.   [post 2 of 2]

8-23-2018   Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat   First let me say the Iraqi dinar is NOT currently on any kind of a FLOAT, managed or otherwise. It is a fixed rate by the Central Bank of Iraq...the definition of a managed float...is when you have millions of investors buying up or selling a currency and driving it up or down. The Iraqi dinar today is not even being traded on the international trading platforms. ...Right now, the dinar is on a fixed program rate set by the CBI and the IMF in October of 2013 during the sanctions. They did this to avoid a total crash of the Iraqi economy post war. [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]

8-23-2018 Newshound Guru ChrisC Article: "An economist reveals the bank's printing of large amounts of currency with small categories to replace them with damage" Think about this real quick. For example, how particularly worthlesss is that 100 denom at the current rate? Why bring these out at the current rate?
It seems there is more to the story as the plot thickens with this and the revealing of the specimen notes. IMHO, I think we’re staring at the end of the Turkmenistan model. I suspect there is a a delicate coordination that needs to be worked out and much communication between several parties to get it on track. Just my 2 cents in consideration of current information...

Why do mosquitoes bite some people without others?
2018/8/24 9:44
[Ayna-Follow]
There are more than 3,000 different species of mosquitoes, yet only part of them are actually fed on human blood with discrimination when choosing their "prey".
Some are infected with countless mosquito bites at their breeding grounds, while others have a bite or two at most. What is the reason, and what factors affect the selection of mosquitoes for prey?
Speaking with the conversation, Richard Halpbeny, a biophysicist at Staffordshire University, explains why some people bite mosquitoes alone.
"The best evidence of what stimulates the attraction of mosquitoes to some humans is the difference in skin spores.
The smell of my hair and hair follicle is the key to attracting mosquitoes. In other words, mosquitoes do not choose someone because of internal biology, but as a result of microorganisms living on their skin.
The formation of skin germs depends on our environment, including what we eat and where we live.
It is also believed that genetic variation affects the extent to which our skin attracts different types of bacteria. This can be done by producing "genetically controlled" proteins in the skin that acts as a barrier and prevents microbes from growing and growing on its surface.
Since pure sweat does not have a clear odor, sweating in itself may not be responsible for attracting mosquitoes. Instead, the variation in the chemical composition of the race and its production rates among people may lead to favorable conditions for some microbes that can attract mosquitoes.
While we are sure that mosquitoes choose their host depending on the bacteria on their skin, it is not clear why mosquitoes prefer to smell some microbial life on the skin.
